    Important Update: This video is a condensed down version of Shrine Visit Podcast Episode 1 (Pilot). Unfortunately, the podcast didn't perform as well as I had hoped, so I have decided to stick to shorter content that is easier to digest. Here is the condensed down version with the "most important topics" of the discussion! Thank you for your understanding!!

      @@sabojezles I have it Unlisted at the moment! So it isn't deleted and can come back up at any point! I am considering putting it up for Members only or something, Episode 2 of the podcast is also like an hour long and I've been trying to figure out how I should release it.

    I was on vacation in Japan late last year and picked up a copy of Shonen Jump at a 7-11 for less than two dollars. It boggles my mind that American comics companies don’t make their output as accessible or affordable! Thanks for another great video, I wish Youngwavy all the best. 😊

    • @MonitorComics

      Less than 2 dollars is INSANE!! I remember buying Shonen Jump issues at my local grocery store as a kid every week, but I think they were like 5-8 dollars or something. Eventually Physical Jump and Shojo Beat magazines got discontinued, so I guess those don't really sell too well over here or something. I liked them a lot though!!

    I've been watching Young for a while now. We're the same age so I've always kept an eye on his work, thinking it fantastic. I'm kicking myself for not vocally supporting him now. I have a bad habit of being an online ninja sometimes lol. I always knew he was going places since Saturday am, but I didn't know he was going that far (out of the country lol)! Congrats! BTW I'm more of a weekly shonen style but I love detailing so much. I'm not good at working with other people either that's why I'm trying to improve to mostly do things by myself.

      @@MonitorComics If you never read a single American comic book from the legends of yore such as Simon Biesley, David Finch, Frank Frazetta, Marc Silvestri, Philip Tan, Jim Lee and the like, then Young Wavy is going to kick you in the balls in the dark from out of nowhere.
      But if you've always known about REAL art, the real stuff, as opposed to just "anime stuff," then you can see where Young Wavy is coming from and you can appreciate all the art much more because of it.
      He's truly skilled. But I understand why his stuff looks very familiar.

    Hey, guess who's back? idk if you remember me but anyways, the days is at hand for me to actually start doing manga. I plan on participating on the Silent Manga Audition. I already got the plot, character designs and scenes in my head pretty clear, but the rules are sort of confusing me...
    QUESTION 1: So, there's two types of canvas sizes which is A4 and B4, which also have different millimeters guidelines as you may already know. Do I have to send the pages with the Trimmed artwork, Main Content Area and Trim Margin layout guidelines? can't I just, submit the pages in the exact sizes of the Main Content Area and be done with it? (if so...what would be the EXACT canvas size for that) or is it necessary for me to HAVE the layout guidelines and keep the drawings in the main content area just for the sake of being "professional"?
    QUESTION 2: Maybe I am thinking too hard, but how do I measure the margines to be exact on a digital canvas? I know there's programs like Clip Studio paint where there's a canvas of manga manuscript paper, but I am not too used to that program and am more of a procreate user.
    I think those are the questions I have so far, I wish I could make this traditionally, but I don't have the tools for it, nor do I have a digital scanner. I am at least gonna draw the sketches and storyboard on paper, while I do the inking on digital. Hope you have a great day Monitor Comics!

      @@danielsmithiv1279 how is he so damn cool

    • @danielsmithiv1279
      @danielsmithiv1279 2 месяца назад +1

      @@Smilingdugo My bad for the late response bro.
      So, this is what makes Lelouch cool:
      1) He's self-driven and incredibly ambitious
      2) He knows what he wants, has a clear overarching goal, and is the agent of that goal
      3) Lelouch has incredible agency. He drives the plot forward and doesn't have other characters make decisions FOR him.
      4) Lelouch is cold, calculating, high-haughty, bold, intelligent, charming, loquacious, talented, and thought-provoking
      5) He's an incredibly powerful character. People are attracted to power. That's why the fans like him a lot. Lelouch is powerful. If he was weak, we wouldn't care about him.
      Therefore, if you want to make your character cool, stop trying to make him like yourself and make him larger than life. I'm not saying that you're not larger than life because I believe we're all unique in our own way, but you need to look outside of yourself and develop a character possessing complex traits absorbed by multiple dynamic people. For instance, for your main character, combine ancient historical figures, recent historical figures, real-life people you know, and fictional characters into one person to create a larger-than-life character. Stop trying to make something up from your head if you don't even what cool is and study all the cool characters you know and emulate them.

    Easy. Ripoff an obscure concept from a popular anime (i.e Jojo Hamon Breathing to Demon Slayer Elemental Breathing Arts or JJK Curse Art/Demon Bound Soul to Naruto's Ninja magic and Demon Bound to Body.)

    • @红色的火焰
      @红色的火焰 3 месяца назад +4

      I think its better to do something original with good execution, I know something 100% original isn't possible these days but just ripping something off and giving it different paint is lazy to me.

    • @tomo8940
      @tomo8940 3 месяца назад +1

      @AkuraChan3821 Hey it worked for the current most popular series. JJK is main stream and so is Demon Slayer. Even Dragon Ball started off as a sort of parody of Journey to the West but with an emphasis on monkeys and power levels. I agree there is no such thing as a original idea.
