I just recently discovered Dayseeker, and the vocal range and dynamics by Rory Rodriguez amaze me, wow.
You and me both! Now I'm just dumbfounded and mad that somehow I haven't heard of them before now. I'm still making my way through all the albums and have yet to be disappointed. Haven't skipped a song yet!
The best part is that they sound almost exactly the same live.

This is probably the great song dayseeker put out in my opinion; not saying the last 2 albums weren't great because I bought them twice. Just this song is beyond perfect
I loved What It Means to Be Defeated but Origin really wasn't my favorite as it was basically just WIMtBD 2 with negative/darker lyrics. One thing I always loved about Dayseeker was the meaning behind their name as stated by the band in the early days: trying to look for the light amidst this dark world. Origin really got negative and I understand why, but I just preferred the more uplifting lyrics. That's one thing I really loved about DIS///WIR, it brought a lot of that back... plus, they just got so much better with the songwriting this time around, it genuinely shocked me.. I knew they were great but I wasn't expecting THAT much greatness haha

Ah finally, I haven't seen someone really agree with me on that aspect. As for the name, there was a video a while back, right before WIMtBD's release, where the band talked about how they were formed, their purpose, etc. I think it was made in response to how people assumed they were a Christian band based off of Hollow Shell's lyrics, which they're not (though Rory has had an ongoing struggle with belief in God, at least; I can't speak for his current beliefs). They explained that basically, they're just trying to be a positive band, a band trying to seek the light (day) in a darkened world.
I believe every single band has that “one song” that everyone knows them by. Breaking Benjamin has Diary of Jane, My Chemical Romance has The Black Parade. Well, I just want to say Vultures is that one song that everyone knows it’s Dayseeker, especially that breakdown at the end. Just phenomenal

really nice song. the band has a good understanding of how metalcore should sound, but they sure put their own spin on it. clean vocals seems to be pretty "real" and not overtuned or overproduced. i bet the singer sounds live pretty solid

With few songs standing as exceptions to the rule, Dayseeker consistently writes some of today's most powerful and meaningful song lyrics. It doesn't hurt them one bit, either, that their music is all at once beauty and beast enough to match the words in tone and earnestness. I expect a lot from their new album and I doubt they will disappoint me after this.

the first time I saw dayseeker was a music video shoot for collision survive at chain reaction In Anaheim. Now I knew they had a lot of talent based off their experience in the scene with their old bands. I just knew after that night that they would evolve into something spectacular. Vultures and Abandon are simply amazing, seriously stoked for this new album!

This song fucks me up for reasons not readily apparent. As a fighter and martial artist, the idea of just failing to overcome someone trying to destroy a loved one absolutely breaks my heart. i know this song is written heavily towards the perspective of the survivor. But personally I can't help but sympathize with the man in the coma.

now that the record is actually out,. who else got blown away by the fact the 44 seconds intro in the video is actually also the intro track on the album - Dreaming Is Sinking, which also transforms into Vultures, because I know I did.
I cryed from the abuse in the initial part of the video. I have seen this my whole life growing up! it bring me me to to tears even seeing this. as a Man most don't understand as a Man is suppost to take it, to handle it! not me....i can't take it anymore.
