They were there through my dads cancer and his passing and helped me find my footing when it was over & really pulled me out of the darkness i was in after losing my dad! Things just got distant and eventually we went our separate ways after years of being there for one another. Its taken so much out of me but i think if its meant to work it will and if not then thats just what it is. Not this song in particular but so many songs make me think of her and remind me of the memories. This song definitely connects to that fully lyrically, so its good to know im not alone on that! As much as it sucks, i know that one day someone will come into my life and be there and never leave. I just keep that in mind and try to be my best self so that in the future, I can be the best to someone else when that time comes! Keep your head up! Hope all gets better for you!

I know this is technically a break up song but I relate this song to losing my mom to lung cancer December 8th, 2021. I lived away from home for years and once I found out her diagnosis, I immediately transferred to be closer to her and do what I could to keep her longer on this earth. To this day, I feel like it's my fault she's gone as the lyrics say. I feel like she was taken way too soon and the single mom who raised my brother and alone, the woman who I thought was invisible was gone. Cancer and what it does to families is just so fucking unfair. First, my deepest sympathy for y'all's family and yourselves!! I can definitely understand where you're coming from. It reminds me of my Dad. He completed his suicide almost 13yrs ago. When I say I've been a shell of who I used to be since then, Im serious. My Dad and I were extremely close. So was my Mamaw and Papaw. My Papaw passed, My Mamaw had dementia so she had no idea who I was and she passed later on, and two months after my papaw's passing, my dad completed his. Those three are the ones who had such a huge impact in upbringing. And just like that they were all gone. I was pregnant with my Daughter and had been seriously injured in an accident all while this was going on. I lost so much the day my dad said fuck it and left this world. I definitely understand his mindset bc I feel that way alot but I'll never act on it (that's the goal) bc I refuse to destroy my kids the way his walking away destroyed mine, AND my oldest kid (who was super close to his Poppy. He's not been the same either). Music helps to get me through the grief storm. Songs like this are a gem. Dayseeker is one of a handful of these types of bands that could put out a record with little to no screams and still sound amazing. Rory has one of the best voices in music today
