I had a Japanese teacher who just generally disliked me. It was only the third semester and on the first day she asked how old everyone was, typical early learning type sentences, and I (being 20 at the time) said にじゅっさい instead of はたち and she got very upset with me and lectured me and the class about "if you're not gonna try, you're not going to do well". It made the class so much more difficult! My first two semesters I was literally the highest scoring student in the class, but my grade plummeted with her. A bad teacher can literally make or break a class.
Oof that's awful. A teacher (especially one of a beginners class) should understand easy mistakes be ready to explain them (like misa-san!). I'm actually going to my first class this morning and I was all ready to say にじゅうさい. I am SO GLAD I came across this video just in time!
At first I thought "Why is she speaking so slow? Come on! I know this stuff already!" but then as I listened more and more and found out that I do not know some things and how you taught them little by little and with repetition, I came to appreciate it. Thank you for your lessons, they were really nice. (おたんじょうびおめでとう!)
Nachträglich, herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Geburtstag Misa! (german) Happy belated birthday Misa. You shouldn't care what other people think about you Misa-sensei. I'm turning 35 soon and i'm still watching anime and read manga and so on. I'd call myself an otaku, cuz i play video games, too.
Thank you for the word colouring teaching tool, I've found it very helpful when I try and translate some simple Japanese sentences from a child's Japanese workbook. おてんじょびおめでとうございます。
お誕生日おめでとうございます! I would like to thank you for all the work that you do! I've always been that student who rises the arm asking off topic questions and you always answer them. I always feel extremely satisfied by the generous aspect of your lessons. Even if i'm not from an english speaking country, i understand everything you say, you have a great and clear english for foreigners ! You look intelligent and funny, you know how to teach, keep going! 誕生日に何をもらいましたか。ピカチュとは旅行をしましたのですか。(笑) 3月29日には23歳になって、日本に旅行に行きたい。
誕生日おめでとうございます. Well you should have known, that hundrets of people would wish you happy birthday ^-^ you are always so nice and explain this beautiful language so easily. Thank you for years of service ^-^ and for many years to come
Happy birthday, dear Misa🍾. I love your lessons and how you go into detail with lots of different examples and variations. Besides my regular Japanese-learning material, I have seperate notebooks prepared just based on your lessons. Thank you very much for your great effort.
遅ればせながら、お誕生日おめでとうございます!I only recently discovered your channel and I'm eternally grateful! My Mom is from Japan so I understand Japanese and learned how to read as a kid, but have never been able to speak with any confidence. You're helping me finally learn how to express myself. Just signed up today on your Patreon. It's the best investment I've made in years! :-)
Happy birthday misa sensei.!! Hopefully i can work in Japan this year and i am always watching your videos. It helps me a lot. Pls. keep on uploading more videos. You're the only one in youtube that has a clear explanation of grammars, and everything that your viewers need to know. おたんじょうびおめでとう ございます!!
Because its interesting to see how others teach/learn your native language lol.. I do the same with watching english lessons aimed towards japanese lmao its just interesting
@@oyasumisuteneko it is interesting indeed. With all the grammatical explanation, I noticed that Japanese language is way more complicated than I thought lol
お誕生日おめでとうございました。 My daughter shares your birthday! You make me chuckle when you expressed the similarity of よおか and 四日 and the annoyance of it. She finds it irksome that her birthday also periodically coincides with Super Bowl Sunday. She is not at all a football fan and the game is virtually the national religion here in the States. Really enjoy your videos and teaching style!
Happy Birthday Misa! I Live in Hawaii and watch your videos every day. You have the best personality and its help me want to continue learning Japanese. You have helped change my life and i thank you Misa!
It is the most childish adults who needlessly throw away everything from their past to 'mature.' But if they understood maturity, they'd know that isn't how you grow up. Never stop loving Pickachu, Misa! Happy birthday. :)
Happy Birthday Misa Sensei !!!! Don't worry, you are never too old to like Pikachu. It's ok if you are in your 90's and Pikachu still brings you joy. I still like and watch Ultraman. And often think how awesomely kawaii the original Fuji from the first Ultraman series was. :)
Really appreciate all the effort you put in all your videos Misa! I have just watched a few videos and learned a lot, I think I'll be binge watching your channel the next few days lol
お誕生日おめでとうございます。Happy birthday! Don't worry Misa Sensei, I also don't like to say my age even though I am a man. There's something about it revealing my mortality and how much I still want to do in life, despite the limited time and money I have, that makes it difficult to own up to.
I love the color coding of the texts. It helps so much!
I like it a lot. It's very colourful. :>
i LOVE how you break up the sentences in diffrent colors! Really helps me learning the grammar and how to build sentences in japanese! ありがとうせんせい!

why is はたち wrong?
@@appleofcider はたち is actually right and much more commonly used. にじゅうさい is "wrong"
