No apologies needed. Everybody knows most Chinese imports to Ghana and Africa are Grade C or D as opposed to Grade A that goes to the west. Most Ghanaian importers know full well they are importing Grade C and D to Ghana because they have to meet the local price point of what consumers are willing to pay. If you want Grade A, it is a free country....you buy directly from source. When constructing in Ghana you have to make strategic choices, purchase premium fittings and fixtures and then make up the savings elsewhere with local artisans, installation, exterior and interior design and landscaping.
You guys need to set up a construction consultancy. absolutely appreciate your attention to detail and long term thinking. Thanks for sharing your construction journey. Taking notes.
I'm loving this channel! Thank you putting meaningful quality and honest content 👌 on. I'M LITERALLY RIGHTING STUFF DOWN when you do your videos. Not to negative, not overly fake positive, no Anti African American vibe, not trying to pretend to be "deep" and wearing traditional garments in EVERY video, and not out of touch and putting our people down. Keep it up! Now I like trying to keep up with your current videos and go back and watch the old ones from like 4 years ago 😂 keep up the good work. 👍 Much love from NYC! Can't wait to visit Ghana
You get what you pay for that's world wide . Don't worry about the comments get what you want it's y'all house. We're just along for the ride . Keep doing it your way. Good job ✊🏿
Ive found that a lot of stuff marketed or presented as high end are actually of poor quality. Its better to buy from abroad and ship where you can. Assa abloy do good quality locks and door handles. They are based in osu and lagos avenue east legon.
Your definitely right. I bought some of my stuff from London and shipped it over to Ghana. Congratulations on 20K subscribers Dela. I discovered your channel in 2015 and I’m glad that you’ve been consistent within the past year to reach this milestone. Happy Mother’s Day x
I have used cheap stuff before and I’ve learnt my lesson.most of them didn’t function well after a month. Before you realize you had already spent more than the price of the expensive one.
In Nederland zeggen we goedkoop is duurkoop that's mean cheap buying is expensive purchase at the end of the day Purchase a quality item for a long period of time
Glad you are bringing this up. You should start naming the stores you purchased for these inferior products from so we can avoid buying from them. Also let’s know where the best products can be purchased. Thanks for all you do and congratulations on 20k subs. 🎊🎉
Thanks for this. I have always been told I am too particular and spending too much on stuff I can get cheaper. Honestly had to export a lot of internal stuff from here in the UK to Ghana.. switches, sockets, light fittings, etc.
I am the same way, I prefer to get the higher end products, because I believe you will pay much more in the long run if you don't. I will wait till I can afford the quality product.
I really enjoy your videos concerning building your home. Just a suggestion, it would be cool for you both be on camera at the same time when he participates.
You're so right Dela you pay for what you get! Mid to high end products are worth investing in for the long run. Better to buy the well made non Chinese products!
One thing I have observed in your videos is the camera does not follow whatever you are describing. You might be taking about your tiles and some issue with the fixing of it but the camera would be on yourselves. Work on it.
Dela- here they tell us “ you get what you pay for... and less”. Can you address why some Ghana houses have some bad smell? Is it the concrete that gives that musky smell?
No more crying! Its time to rejoyce! Go for the quality stuff, last longer, looks better and feels better. Raise the standard against inferior products. You are the consumer and the ball is always in the court of the consumers..
My mom alway tell me. You get what you paid for it. So in other words if cheap it probably wouldn't last long and if you paid good money it will worth it for you pay for it.
It's time they stop buying the poor quality stuff. They do the same in the Caribbean. Personally I only purchase disposable stuff from them, paper stuff and dishwashing liquid.
It's your house and your money so you can decide what you want in there. They can't tell you and this video isn't even necessary because its like you living your life for people.
Buying just because products are cheaper or more expensive can lead you to purchasing an inferior product which is more likely to fail and need to be replaced. Buying quality is an investment. Quality is durable and will cost you less over the long run. Ask questions, do research, and buy quality products.
Hahahahahahaha I just died when she started making the door hing sound (creaking) Hahahahahaha But it is so true though. Many refrigerators and appliances alike fail so fast when purchased from Ghana than bought from outside. I believer there is a reason behind it all. The quality assurance isnt in place when it comes to Afrika. :(
Uh uh. No explanation necessary. Sounds like common sense to me buying quality. I would undoubtedly do the same. Let the ones without common sense go for low quality and pay the price later. But thanks for spending time explaining to those who don't know better.
The cheap items must be coming in quick and fast from China. I think the Ghanaians won't pay for quality so they give them the cheaper vision of things
Madam Dela your logic is sound. It's a well known fact China reserves it's best export items for Europe and North America and the crap goes to Black nations. Many people aren't aware of this.
Shalom , Dela you do not have to explain anything to anyone..it’s your money 💴, not theirs..I understand buying quality..with a warranty, less problems ..breathe relax n meditate Shalom

They Chinese do the same thing here in America.
In Dutch we say "goed koop is duur koop" meaning cheap buy is expensive purchase 😂
You guys need to set up a construction consultancy. absolutely appreciate your attention to detail and long term thinking. Thanks for sharing your construction journey. Taking notes.
Caleb, that is a BRILLIANT idea. Good encouragement!
I have the best reason to give them for going high end; "Because we can afford it!" That is all they need to know.
Someone once told me “cheap things cost”. So true.

1st. Congratulations for the 20,000 subscriber milestone 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
You get what you pay for that's world wide . Don't worry about the comments get what you want it's y'all house. We're just along for the ride . Keep doing it your way. Good job ✊🏿
I agree with you Dela, about buying quality. My grandfather used to say, "cheap things are dear." 😂😂😂
Ive found that a lot of stuff marketed or presented as high end are actually of poor quality. Its better to buy from abroad and ship where you can. Assa abloy do good quality locks and door handles. They are based in osu and lagos avenue east legon.
Thanks for the tip!

I've told people that quality is better than cheap for ages, but sadly some people never got it.
I have used cheap stuff before and I’ve learnt my lesson.most of them didn’t function well after a month. Before you realize you had already spent more than the price of the expensive one.
I agree one hundred percent. The sane goes for buying a house. The put cheap quality in and they fall apart within a year.
In Nederland zeggen we goedkoop is duurkoop that's mean cheap buying is expensive purchase at the end of the day
Purchase a quality item for a long period of time
Buy cheap, buy twice......definitely the best strategy is to buy quality even if at a much higher initial price to alternatives!
Glad you are bringing this up. You should start naming the stores you purchased for these inferior products from so we can avoid buying from them. Also let’s know where the best products can be purchased. Thanks for all you do and congratulations on 20k subs. 🎊🎉
Put it this way
Cheaper fixtures and fittings
Will do the same job
*"However they will last a fraction of the time**
Very true.
💯 buy quality so you don’t have to keep replacing inferior product.
I was having the same conversation, I will not compromise on price when you are building. You want to do this once only!
I was just looking at window stays uk compared to home ones... this video helps
Good job guys 👍👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I have been watching channel for a while now,but today I finally subscribed to your channel. You doing a great job Dela.
😊
Thanks for this. I have always been told I am too particular and spending too much on stuff I can get cheaper. Honestly had to export a lot of internal stuff from here in the UK to Ghana.. switches, sockets, light fittings, etc.
I totally agree with you, buy once and not keep changing, ask Kwame do I do the skimming first before tiling or otherwise, quality is always good Dela
Stop explaining yourself, you are the one paying for it, If you want durability you have to be prepared to pay for it.
You’re correct...
It's called 'educating others' from personal experience.
High is very good for the long run. Do it now and don’t have to deal with it in few months
yay congratulations 🎉 20k
☺️
Thanks for this video, this is good information.
I agree with you
Yeah, I agree. Durability over affordability anyday.
Insightful guys!
Wow!! Tnx guys for this awesome video... l learnt something new today!
I am the same way, I prefer to get the higher end products, because I believe you will pay much more in the long run if you don't. I will wait till I can afford the quality product.

Kwame doesn’t like being on camera unfortunately. Maybe I’ll manage to get him on again soon, who knows.
Guys... I love everything you guys are doing.. I am starting my construction in Uganda. Been watching your channel with interest. Thanks
When I hit the jackpot,Kwame is building me same thing 😅😂
🎊 Congratulations 🎊 on a 20 000 subscribers milestone
Thank you
When I start my build, I hope that I can hire you guys to consult. Can you ask Kwame, if he knows about sand stone paint for exterior walls?
I like quality...I will spend more to buy something one time
20K Subscribers
👏👏😊😂
What about cabinet makers and furniture builders. Do they have good local people who are excellent at making furniture or kitchen/bathroom cabinets. ?
You're so right Dela you pay for what you get!
Mid to high end products are worth investing in for the long run. Better to buy the well made non Chinese products!
I’m in America and thinking of moving there. How much to build your home when complete. Estimate is ok.
One thing I have observed in your videos is the camera does not follow whatever you are describing. You might be taking about your tiles and some issue with the fixing of it but the camera would be on yourselves. Work on it.

Yes for 4yrs, my hinges still make. noise when opened. Hmmmm
They definitely sell and send the rubbish quality to Africa. I was just watching a video with a Ghanaian RUclipsr who said the same thing.
It's time they stop buying the poor quality stuff. They do the same in the Caribbean. Personally I only purchase disposable stuff from them, paper stuff and dishwashing liquid.
"i'm still crying" XD

Is just that people are not well educated, like the pipe it have what we call schedule, the heavy one is schedule 80 and can stand for a long time

Thanks for the information. Unrelated question, what is the size of your plot.... from front gate to the back wall, and left to right walls?
It’s 37x 120
Sometimes cheap is expensive
Uh uh. No explanation necessary. Sounds like common sense to me buying quality. I would undoubtedly do the same. Let the ones without common sense go for low quality and pay the price later. But thanks for spending time explaining to those who don't know better.
Question??? why the houses in Ghana dont have central air? Most of the houses i have seen have portable A.C.
The expense. I’ve never seen anyone here with central ac
👌👌
Why is your video playing up 🤔. Editing is a bit odd ?
👍👍💯💯💯
