Getting ketamine in a situation like this would be horrible, but ketamine is amazing and can treat a lot of mental disorders and obviously can help big time with surgery

I'm doing it now for depression. I get 150 mgs. Idk if that's a high dose but OMG it is extremely intense. Initially I thought it was a sedating med but I was tripping with crazy visuals I couldn't sleep 😂 I hope it works

As a paramedic this drugs onset is seconds....not minutes. Our dose is 4mg/kg IM and 2mg/kg IV for excited delirium or agitation with violence. We use antipsychotics for just agitation without violence.

I really will never understand the idea that ketamine is good for sedation or sleep, it severely effects my ability to to sleep in low to medium doses I've used practically every dose and delivery method, sure, i might not be able to move or speak and all i can feel is my teeth which feel like they are disolving electrically, most of my time im just trying not to completely dissintergrate. I cant sleep until the stuff is well out of my system dosing it is a good way to keep me up all night

Ketamine does not cause respiratory depression. This is not an opioid. 0.1 to 0.8mg per kilogram is the dosage used for pain management dosed IM or IV for an infusion. Ketamine is simular to PCP but at a much lower potency.

@@ursamajor6347 it could have interacted with what was in his system. Ketamine itself is extremely useful drug used to treatment depression, PTSD, and chronic pain. It’s an infusion therapy. It’s helped so many others and I’m still in the middle of my infusions.
The problems here is they didn’t dose it to his weight (that should not have caused an OD since they weren’t off that much but still)..what was in his system, didn’t realize it’s used for delirium, it’s supposed to be an infusion not an injection (although low dose can be). Not sure why they didn’t use another sedative. Ketamine shouldn’t be demonized…it looks like it was a series of mistake after mistake that led to this man’s passing.

@@candirenee74 It doesn't matter what they use anything that is super fast acting and inject able is absolute gold for an emergency responder, it saves lives. They use it because its safer than other alternative sedatives in terms of overdose potential and interactions with other drugs...
I REALLY dont get how they use it as an anesthetic or sedative though because I've done extremely high doses many times and sleep was the last thing that was ever on my mind

Takes an awful lot of Ketamine to kill you n I mean a lot hence why it’s used on battle fields because it actually stimulates your breathing/blood pressure and BPM all the things you want as opposed to opioid’s which do the opposite, give to little though and they will start to trip so give a good 250mg to 500mg dose.

    • @barrysmith4674

And trust me from my own experiments I have taken more than 7000mg of the stuff over an 8 hour period through a cannula I put in myself to stop me messing up my veins whilst I was numb from the Ketamine, it’s a very very very safe drug.

    • @bickyboo7789

@@stevensharpe3182 wouldn't Ativan with an antipsychotic work better? Thats what they give to people when they're overdosing and/or in psychosis from stimulants like cocaine or methamphetamine. It wouldn't be trippy as fuck like ketamine, and the antipsychotic shuts down the dopamine receptors which are usually a big factor for excited delirium or psychosis.
