Dominican here from the States. Glad you discovered these two Dominican artists Beth! They are both huge in the Hispanic community. Juan Luis Guerra is very well recognized in the Dominican Republic and has a very unique style in his Merengue and Bachata. His track record is amazing. Same for Romeo but he came a bit after and started off in a Group called Aventura which was also HUGE and mainly known for their Bachata records. Whenever a DJ played Aventura in a club, everyone would hit the dance floor no questions asked. I remember when this performance was released to the public. Man, it was so good! I remember walking thru a neighborhood in Santo Domingo... Juan Luis was on TV and everyone was watching ... all the way to the Bodega I heard the entire interview.. the only time Santo Domingo was soo quiet 😆 🤣

I grew up listening Juan Luis Guerra. I remember perfectly well being 12 years old and playing him in during entire summers in Spain... I am now 43, have three nationalities and spent over 25 years travelling the world. I am listening this from Australia and my first reaction was to see if, by any chance, he plans any concerts anywhere not too far from here. That was one of my favorite songs of his. I'd love for you to react to some of Romeo's own music, either his solo stuff or with his group Aventura. We saw him live at Wembley Arena in London 3 years ago and he was amazing! Yes, it is very rare to even have heard of Romeo here in the UK if you're outside the Latin Community, which I am, but there's a handful of us gringos here who love him😂 he sold out his tour here in 2014 and 2018 but I think most of the audience were Latino. I found him because he came up on my recommendations on RUclips about 5 years ago because I had already been listening to other Latin music. I fell in love immediately. God bless youtube!
