Brighton and Eastbourne are beautiful towns. Enjoyed the hike passing through small towns. There was one thing, that I would not have done, crossing the river. Visit Prime Meridian is so special just like the "ZERO mile marker" in Key West, FL. Sorry to hear Storm Ciarán left some damages to the UK soil. I am learning how English PPL enjoy the beach in cold months including the sun bathing in birthday suit through your lens. Very fun trek, Matt. It was neat seeing the transition from civilization to being in the wild by those cliffs. That wading through the river looked a little intense and I might have considered taking my boots off. It's a shame about those leaving their garbage behind. Hopefully they will see this and change their ways. Ohhh, that bird time lapse at the end was hilarious! 😂
Thansk Donna, I probably should've taken my boots off but some of those stones can be quite jagged and I decided wet boots and socks would be preferable to cut feet 😆

The beaches have a lot of things, you are Walking and make us discover the different landscapes since a zipline, a little train, the gyms, the zero point meridian, the buildings, up Hill, down Hill, the water crashing the coast walls, the gardens on streets plenty of flowers, the piers etc etc. How many days this adventure did take to you? A bored life guard is a good thing - no ones drowning 😂 Terrible to hear about people who just leave their trash at such a nice location. That happens over here as well, it's such a shame. There's a hefty fine in certain places if someone is caught littering. On a positive note, it was nice to finally see the sun come out at the end 🙂

Hi Matt, not been to Brighton for a very long time. I'd say I remember the sights you past but I don't. The old forts were pretty cool and of course the views of the cliffs were awesome. Great light towards the end of the day for photos and video capture. Sounded a pretty busy bandstand, well to be, being the busiest one on planet Earth. Great views from off the pier. The colour of the water was awesome. And Hastings, that's another place I have not been to for many a year. I used to work down that way from time to time way back when 🙂
Ah Matt this was over 20 years ago so all forgotten now (I've slept since) and it was work so didn't get to see much. The long weekend in Amsterdam was good. Hope you're keeping well
Haven't been Brighton in a number of years, thought Covid might have ruined the place like it's done to other seaside towns, but good to see it's still thriving. Seems like the Greenwich Meridian Trail seems like a good challenge for you, if you ever fancied it! Some tough inclines on this walk, luckily you did this in September, I can imagine it'd be a lot harder in the current weather. Given how popular Seven Sisters are, I'm surprised there's no crossing over the river closer to the shore. Love that the Seagull stayed next to you for that long!
Brighton has too many rich people for it to go the way of other seaside towns but it's still got its fair share of problems! Lots of homeless people and on a weekend night the city centre is best avoided. Seagulls will always hang about if there's a chance of getting fed 😅
Great explore around Brighton. Fire damaged hotels, lets not get started on them, looks like they are doing something about it though (unlike here). Love the cyan colourings on railings and lampposts, very cool. Some of the worst volley-balling ive ever seen! Karens bar sounds interesting. Classic shots of the cliffs and restored Lido. Nice marker for the long distance trail at 0°. The Fort looked interesting on the outskirts of Newhaven. The river ooze? How far have you walked? Must have been very different during the times of the Mills. Executions, yikes! Love the turret house, very unique. Dangerous drop and deep water.. looks pretty shallow! Scratch that, it looks pretty deep. Id be taking the boots off for that! Grey goose and watermelon or Rum and Come? Superb choice, id be happy with either of those inspired choices. Rave on seagull. Great time laspe! “Unbeautify it”, leave no trace! Ultra Marathons? Crazy, so many of them! The B&B looks nice. Dont envy those poor guys in canoes! Nice introduction to Eastbourne. The Bandstand was huge. Was that the temperance society band or the Salvation Army? Very classy looking pier. Another cracking seaside adventure! 👍

Yeah they have on-the-spot fines here too for littering but it's rarely enforced. Yes, the sun is a luxury in these parts 😆

I heard that walking barefoot is good for your health. But you have to be careful not to hurt the soles of your feet.
