    Why are people saying that puberty will ruin him? Sure he won't be able to hit those crazy high notes, but his voice will become more rich and powerful. You also don't magically lose your sense of pitch during puberty... A singers ear is his greatest asset.

    Liam sung this beautifully during his audition. Danny Boy has been one of my favorite Irish Ballad forever. My favorite rendition had been by the Celtic Woman; who I have loved since 2004 and still do. But I have a new favorite. If you like Danny Boy, Irish Ballads, Celtic Woman, and Liam, then this will warm your heart and bring tears to your eyes.

    Simon is a criminal because he predicted this young man's puberty? Boy sopranos have a shelf life since we no longer castrate them, as a rule. That doesn't mean Liam won't have an amazing voice as an adult. Although this is old, isn't it? I'm guessing his voice is finished changing by now. I'd love to hear him sing as an adult.

    When Simon says yes, even with his little provisos, you know you did good, although he probably has a point, that voice won't last forever. That said, who knows, maybe he'll be a good tenor or baritone too.

      macedir little late for a reply but although true this type of music should be taken in. A little early clap to assure the singer is nice but any singer with such talent can feel the emotion of the crowd. You can literally feel the crowd clapping without a sound being made and it is incredible. This moment here was just a bunch clowns clapping to high notes that they have been trained to do. His use of vibrato and full control of his voice at such a young age should be clapped for and not because he can hit high notes which is actually easier for him at that age. Yes a little confidence helps but this was just monkeys clapping for something that is truly special and should be taken in rather than yelled over

    if you sing routinely and train your voice you won't lose your higher notes, only gain lower ones. I am in the midst of puberty with a vocal range of A#2 - G#5 I doubt I'll lose those higher registers because at first I couldn't access them without training months and months and months on just edging my range higher. yes, it might get harder to hit those higher notes, but only if you leave them dormant.

If you wish to be a self-appointed grammar Nazi, you may want to first check your own writing before criticising others. If YOU want to be taken seriously, I would suggest that you re-edit (since your post has already been edited once) it to read - You do wish to be taken seriously, correct? As Metallica sings, 'Nothing else matters!'. Go back to your cream and cheesez Suzy and wonder why you don't have any friends... By the way, English is not my native language and yet I use it more proficiently than you madam. Next time you have the urge to be a b**** in here, stop and think that maybe it's not the person's first language and that as long as the meaning is clear, it ought not to matter. It's not an English exam after all. But then again, if you were to think that way, what would a troll like you have left to do I wonder?

      I would love to him now. I think Simon was wrong on two counts; one, being his usual rude self at such a peak moment especially, and two, Liam may have his beautiful voice only in a lower register; lower tenor, bass, or baritone. Simon needs to put a cork in it! Look at the youngest member of Celtic Thunder! He made the

    I can't stand how talent shows have made it to where everybody claps throughout the damn tune. So distracting and lessens the emotional impact IMO.The great moments of a song should sink into you and then at the end you give a hearty applause. It would be more magical that way, but it doesn't make for compelling television so they don't do it that way.

    Fantastic, angelic, unblemished, far too pure for this world.

    Child singers with a great voice have a huge risk after hitting puberty... thats why they aren't very famous. Shit happens.

    This song always makes me emotional. It is even more so when a beautiful young voice sings it with such emotion. He reminds me of the way Mario Lanza sings Danny Boy. One has to hear it. A new book, "A Kid from Philadelphia, Mario Lanza, the Voice of the Poets," captures this passion and emotion that continues to inspire singers like this one.

    It's sad that your voice changes after puberty. I could sing high notes when i was a kid, but now every time i sing, it sounds like a dying cat :(((

    Mostly I agree with Laura Sanders, but you never know. Could be a miracle. The kid learned this on his own. Seems very dedicated. Maybe, if he's lucky, he'll get right back to it and become a sensation. Incredible highs! Thank you for sharing. He certainly has talent. Huge crowd and it didn't seem to phase him. Standing ovation. Wow. I almost cried.

    I like this kid's singing but.........that flute needs to be packed away and get some proper accompaniment .

    I actually agree with Simon, and it makes me kind of sad. This young man is a beautiful tenor, but since this was filmed, puberty has probably robbed him of that gift.

    • @kristendunn3294
      @kristendunn3294 10 лет назад +1

      He's more of a counter tenor, and puberty will deepen his voice but not take it away.

      It's possible to judge a voice while the singer is still young; the issue arises when that young person grows up and their voice changes.

    • @eolsunder
      @eolsunder 10 лет назад

      Yep but also sometimes their voice changes during puberty and doesn't affect their singing ability just their range. Plenty of good singers go through puberty and their voices don't change, or they change in their range but still have amazing voices.
