@@1MrLuar I'm sure this car also have regular windows defrosters as well with the heated blades. Rubber breaks down faster from uv and ozone, not much from heat and cold. Otherwise all your engine rubber hoses wouldn't last as long as they do. This test didn't show how cold the air temp was. I'm sure that may affect the effectiveness too. But based on my experience with just windows defrosters alone on my cars, this is a lot faster to clear that windshield.
I don't have heated windshield but I do have mist nozzles to spray washing fluid on the windshield. The winter fluid melts the ice in most cases almost instantly :)
I’ve had a ford with heated windscreen. As good as it is to clear windscreen quick. It has all these little dots which when not cleaned blur your vision especially at nights it’s horrible.
People talk about heater windshield being better. It’s probably is an option on this car. Lincoln is Ford’s luxury brand after all and they invented it. However, I find this feature to be extremely useful when it rains during winter. The rain water would freeze on the wipers which makes them completely useless. This system ensures that you don’t have to stop to clean the wipers from ice.
Tu Ru - right, they have, it was presented a couple years ago in Mercedes’ cabriolet, it was made for the open-roofed cars and they decided to produce it for all models then
This technology is useful for highway wiping at high speeds, and the rubbers do last. This is a Bosch system already in use on Mercedes models since 2013
This feature will be usefull on the road during snowy winter rides below 0°/32F so the snow and ice wont stick to the wiper but it definitely works much worse than heated windshield in the example shown above
I had a new Lincoln in 2017. Only drove it on weekends because it was in the shop through the week. Something wrong with it all the time! I got rid of it before the warranty ran out. I’ll never have another!
I see it being much more useful if it is a rain/ice mix while driving long distances but first thing on a frosted windshield, washer solvent works ten times faster and is a hell of a lot cheaper
How about the heated windshields? They have extra fine wires in comparison to rear windows. You can still see them but barely visible unless searching for them specifically. The pre-2014 Transit Connect had it, or at least it was an option.
My fiesta 2007 has more effective system, heated windscreen, gets solid ice few mm thick in no time. And I choose when to turn on the wiper blades so they don't get micro damage. I wouldn't like to be negative but what have I missed in this preview? 🙁
Whats next? You will show a 2000 european mk3 ford (is lincoln owned by ford? Hmm guess yes it is) mondeo with heated front windshield? Or mayby 1990 webasto and remote ignition start?
You guys do realize that you use the wiper blades as well as the defroster to make it quicker, right? Some of these comments lead me to believe some of you don’t understand the point.
Some Guy Than you for the advice. Unfortunately newer cars don’t have easy access to raising the blades. They just hit the bonnet. You have to put them in servicing mode and then you can lift them from the windscreen.
Some Guy I have a golf mk7. To lift the wipers they have to be put in servicing position. I don’t know why they’ve made a design like this. Perhaps for aerodynamics as the wipers are tucked behind the bonnet.
Some Guy Congratulations on your new car! I hope you get many reliable miles! The golf that I currently own is my first car. I have a new Audi A6 on order due to deliver in may.
Some Guy Wow that’s a very new car. Take care of her! Happy to hear that you get to drive such a good truck. I hope you get many more km out of her. Drive safely! 🙂
Ford owns Lincoln so why don't ford use it's quickclear heated windshield, other vehicles use it but Ford had the patent for it and was the first manufacturer to use and come with the idea, Ford started using it in the mid 80s. I have a 2018 fiesta and this is such an amazing feature.
This isn’t a defroster! This is the blades of the wipers actually heating the window up and melting the ice. That’s why the ice only melts where the blades are, not where the vents are like a standard defroster. Different purpose.
Do they realize if you spray good quality windshield wiper fluid and blow hot air in the defrost position you get way faster without this expensive system
They are one shot blades right? Heat up, do the job then replace :D Heated windshield + inner directed hot air solves this in 10-15 mins at least in Europe for until -10 celsius. I know I know in US it is -30...
They made a cut in the video because it took too long
Two cuts actually. Looks like it would at least be useful during actual driving, keeping the windshield clean
We need a control!
Saw that too
Doesn't look very useful. Also the rubber of the blades will be destroyed very quickly.
Mr L You’ve done test yourself?, or you’re going based of what you see ?
Supreme Etnel "Doesn't" is different of "It's not useful" Also you have window defroster option on many cars and they are pretty good.

Mr L A quick spray from the windshield washer would have solved this almost immediately.
"Hey let's make a heated blade system but still use normal blade rubber. "
and so I finally got my windshield clean after a year
not any more effective then a heated windscreen
its patented by ford i believe but porsche and rangerover using it...
As I know it. You can't use a heated windshield, when you have head up display.
Ford did have a "Instant Clear" Windshield in the late 80s, at least the Mercury Grand Marquis had it as an option.
@@uygar2580 I don't think heated windshield is patented by Ford, I know many manufacturers that use it. My Opel even has one.
@@jasperordrup yes you can! But you cant use Tv Tuner in car...
Fake! The ice was a paid actor.
Hahahahaha loooool soo funy
Hahaha cool and funny :)
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
LOL
🤣🤣
useless idea,i drove a ford focus with heated windshield in germany and this system works great .
Yes, and there is Snow on corners yet
That's the only working solution.
I don't have heated windshield but I do have mist nozzles to spray washing fluid on the windshield. The winter fluid melts the ice in most cases almost instantly :)
Those tend to get frozen too, i.e. spraying nothing.
Luckily it haven't happened to me yet ;)
@@jaromor8808 in Germany in the Winter they sell anti freeze instead of normal washing water
You can get winter wiper fluid
Why cant we just put a heated windshield? 1000% more effective

Patented by Land Rover
Uygar KAYA I have heated windshield in my Ford Fiesta from 2003, lol.
Also slower

And a thousand micro scratches.
Damn didnt
Ice doesn't scratch glass. It's not near hard enough.
Tolly and James are the best! Spray that windshield!
That means you have to pay more for expensive blades now
Mercedes Benz has offered this feature for a number of years on its S Class and other vehicles
Marcus Richardson because they’re the best duhhh
Dont they have some aeroblade tech or whatever that spray the liquid so hard towards the window that it melts and breaks all the ice on the window?
Tu Ru - right, they have, it was presented a couple years ago in Mercedes’ cabriolet, it was made for the open-roofed cars and they decided to produce it for all models then
@@marselus88 yeah like i saw some 7 years old vid that introduced it. But reading comments, some have had it even before too.
Michael Robinson Vlogs Duh.
Was watching eagerly to see the innovation, but ended up asking myself "that's it???" 🙁
Heated windscreen is much more useful IMHO

More junk to fix after the warranty runs out.
“Mercedes” : Been there, done that ! 😎
superfilipppp
Mercedes Benz!!!!!
The best.
I use a CD to rub the ice on the windshield. If I manage to make a hole to see with one eye, I'm gone!
Bring this technology tô Brazil!

3 ice morning, and you must buy other pair! Great product :-)
I see it being much more useful if it is a rain/ice mix while driving long distances but first thing on a frosted windshield, washer solvent works ten times faster and is a hell of a lot cheaper
wow, it works exactly as non-heated wiper blades
I think it would be cooler if the wipers went very slowly, in a "ice I'm gonna make you burn" kind of way
Its already making streak after doing that lol
Heated windshield is much more effective!!
Now I have something to add to snow plow tractor windshield wipers. Wrecking yards, here I come.
How about the heated windshields? They have extra fine wires in comparison to rear windows. You can still see them but barely visible unless searching for them specifically. The pre-2014 Transit Connect had it, or at least it was an option.
Great job
So after 600 wipes the blades are warm AND heavily used/ damaged?
I thought it would clear all the ice in one swipe. That would be satisfying and effective. This will wear out what I imagine are very expensive blades
1989 Ford Scorpio and Sierra had the heated windshield.
Minnesota winter: Am I a joke to you?
My 2010 VW Passat has heated nozzles for the washer fluid and that even works better than this for ice on the windshield.
Yep same thing on my 14 Volkswagen CC
onewsome304 I’ve never had a car with the feature before, and I really enjoy it.
@@crazyman-td9bq yeah I didn't even know. Was just reading through the owner's manual one day

Heated wiper blades. Cool. I like.
I invented microwave wipers. They emit a very low grade electromagnetic wavelength that all but instantly melts windscreen ice.
Whats next? You will show a 2000 european mk3 ford (is lincoln owned by ford? Hmm guess yes it is) mondeo with heated front windshield?
Or mayby 1990 webasto and remote ignition start?
Cool, same thing Mercedes did 10 years ago.
Customer : I need a new set of Wiper Blades.
Lincoln:800$
When you don’t wanna waste washer fluid
You guys do realize that you use the wiper blades as well as the defroster to make it quicker, right? Some of these comments lead me to believe some of you don’t understand the point.
This is worth buying I didn't see them spray the fluid
You're right, because washer fluid is so much more expensive than heated wiper blades
I’ll just use my ice scraper and be done with it quickly - thank you
Some Guy Than you for the advice. Unfortunately newer cars don’t have easy access to raising the blades. They just hit the bonnet. You have to put them in servicing mode and then you can lift them from the windscreen.

@Some Guy warming up is a waste of gas... Only needs to "warm up" for about 30 seconds. Best way to get to operating temperature is by driving.
**laughs in remote start and remote hvac controls*
Why not spray hot water from the windshield spray?

I wonder how much new wiper blades are?
Not me with my 5% tints on my 2005 Lincoln ls v8 and a subwoofer in the back 😂
$ 300 for a set of new blades would be about right? Stupid.
Very, and I think the warranty people thinking the same lmao
the fluid takes care of that
Tesla be like...
:Our cars heat up to melt the snow!!
My 2015 Ford Transit Custom van has a heated screen which appears to be way more effective. Its work horse and rolls around building sites 🤷🏼♂️
It's called windshield washer fluid.. it's about 1/1000th the cost... yet still move effective....
I have this cool shit on my car that’s called a window defroster, wanna know something even better my rear window has it too!!
Its very bad for the rubber. Dont use it!
I guess you don't live in the north
Barsa F if it’s that bad throw some hot water on it and get to steppin
Michael Robinson Vlogs do all oldercars have those

motion, friction, heat, uneven surface, crystalline structure, scratchy sounds ... wear & tear?
Literally 2 sprays with a deicer would have disolved that light ice in a second.
Try this in Alberta -40c the wiper blades wont even move
But.... One little spray of de icer will get rid of it. That only costs about $4 every 2 months for 1 bottle. Not these $80 wiper's that kinda work.
Replace ur wipers more often! Has to be the Lincoln heated ones haha
Probably won’t work in a foot of snow. Up north we have to leave the wipers up during a snow storm so there don’t freeze and break.
Looks slower and worse than heated windshield on my Opel.
I think people need to realize, this would be helpful only when the vehicle is moving.
why don’t they just heat the entire windshield? rather then just the blades which doesn’t seem to work that well or quickly
I don’t know why this gave me anxiety LOL
That’s a small amount of ice, that’s a most likely special wiper blade that costs double, it will take forever, and be quite loud
Do they realize if you spray good quality windshield wiper fluid and blow hot air in the defrost position you get way faster without this expensive system
Rain x windshield fluid do that way quicker and subaru has a heated windshield and all cars have heater and defroster.
It's evolving, just backwards
What can they make heated windshield
Don’t forget to change the rubber after every use 😅😅😅
Imagine the scratches
Me going out farting on the windshield is much more efficient than this.
How much for the wipers
alcohol based winshield washer liquid : am I a joke to you?
Ever tried wiper fluid
Soooo how long does it actually take to unthraw that windshield with wipers ... And was the defrost on to help ? Just asking ...
@Some Guy 🤣🤣🤣
This system is brought to you by Bosch wiper blades. Destroy your blades as fast as possible. ;)
How much cost it to buy new when they broken?
And the cost to replace the wiper blades is ....
Обогрев лобового?
Не, не слышали
Totally Lincoln music.
Try with freezing rain. See how well it works
Impressionant !!!
Mercedes had magic vision few years ago
Maybe a good idea if it snowed year round.
They are one shot blades right? Heat up, do the job then replace :D Heated windshield + inner directed hot air solves this in 10-15 mins at least in Europe for until -10 celsius. I know I know in US it is -30...
I’d rather wait spring.
Try getting the blades to even move when their iced down and tge windshield is packed with snow. Theres no way around elbow grease.
Well my Ford EcoSport has a heated windshield
Can just do that by leaving the wipers on....🤣, i cant imagine how much they cost to replace..
Or give yourself an extra 3 mins to get to work.
Start the engine and scrape all windows clear of snow and ice, then start your journey. Simple👍
Why not make a heated windshield
Lol how much for a replacement .
Some alcohol mix in your windshield washer fluid can do it faster
Lol got a Cadillac ad
Uhm.... Is that the best you can come up with
