I'm protestant but I have been learning a lot with the catholic tradition. It began with the mystical tradition in St Theresa D'Avila and recently I found St Catherine of Siena. This video has blessed me. May God bless you, my brother in Christ!

It was Bishop Diego de Acebo in 1201. He was a huge influence on St. Dominic and he invited Dominic to accompany him during his travels.

Yes. There are both Dominican nuns and active sisters, as well as Dominican lay women.

St Catherine of Siena is a very famous saint and a Dominican and she was a member of the Third Order as a lay woman (although she chose to wear a habit). She had a huge influence on the Church, and does to this day.
