Thank you Mr & mrs Carr.. I am Engineer about 47yrs old.. From this year's Ash Wednesday my life has experienced lot of spiritual growth like daily Mass,, Rosary, confessions and watching the saints life, apparition of our Lady.. I feel I tried but couldn't get married on time but recently when I watched St. Francis of Assisi I heard about the 3rd order of Franciscans the SFO..so I feel I am I chosen by God to join the order.. Haven't spoken to anyone because any free hour I am getting attached to hear about Christ.. From past 3 yrs other than my job I am also doing a service at a Rehabilitation Center for free.. I just wanted to know your advice is it a God's call or through prayer and fasting can I convince God to pick me for his service through SFO.. Kindly guide me in your good spirit. Thanks🙏🙏
Hi Anthony. Sorry just read this. To join a Third Order is a very serious commitment and a vocation that God calls you into. We are not advised to convince God to pick us, rather it's a gift that we need to discern and eventually receive. To join a Third Order involves a process of a few years of discernment i.e. for Lay Dominicans is a 5 years process and for religious longer. God puts desire in our heart to follow His Will for your life, which is always good, but sometimes that desire either needs to be purified or solidify through fasting, prayer and formation. If you feel called to the Franciscan why not take the first step and talk to either a Franciscan friar or to a chapter nearby. They should be able to help you take the next step. You can always come and see their meeting and trust that the Holy Spirit will guide you and make it clear. Hopefully that's helpful. Will pray for you. Blessings, Ina Carr.
This a longshot since this video is older, but I can't seem to find an answer so I might as well try. I got in trouble when I was younger, about 20 yrs ago and I'm wondering if my record would disqualify me from joining the lay Dominicans.
Dear brother in Christ, Christ came for the sinners and the sick. Why would it disqualify you? I got into a lot of trouble when I was younger, but His mercy is enough. His Precious Blood is enough to make us clean and new. I'm a Lay Dominican and this is my past: ruclips.net/video/Xx1PL98IvSc/видео.htmlsi=btQtAvj0yQmURE_n
