What a wonderful overview of the Lay Dominican community. I’m very interested in becoming Lay Dominican, I interact with Dominican Sisters here in Kentucky with our Catholic school and teach OCIA. Thank you for taking the time to post this on RUclips. God Bless!
Regards from me, lay Dom from Jakarta Indonesia...thank you Tom... this recording is really helpfull for me....and we are do the same too here....warm regards....❤
I appreciate this so much. It has truly been so helpful and I discern. Thank you. I'm very interested but I live in Perrysburg, Ohio with no orders close to me.
A lot of good info! I think if it was broken up into several topic videos, it would reach more people. Just that public speaking training in me speaking up. 😅
If one were to want to pursue becoming a Lay Dominican, would the local parish have to have an affiliation with the Lay Dominicans given that the local fraternity is some distance away to make frequent attendance?
I'm not sure what you're really asking, but my situation is such that I travel a little less than 2 hours to the next **diocese** to attend. My local parish isn't affiliated with any religious order.
good day to you! I am from Gainesville Florida and works as a nurse. I am interested to join the Lay Dominican. Where is the nearest chapter close to University of Florida. Thanks. I have tried reaching out to different chapters here in the US but unfortunately there was no response. Thanks and I hope to hear from you. God bless!
You mentioned that it is possible to pray the traditional Roman Breviary to meet your obligation as a lay Dominican. Is the same true for the Monastic Diurnal or the Ordinariate’s Divine Worship Daily Office? Thank you in advance, and God bless.
@patricknugrohohadiwinoto5361 I just looked it up. It seems he was both. My priest is also a lay Dominican & Franciscan, so I guess it’s not that crazy, especially for priests.
traditionally only for the meetings and for burial; don’t know the exact date when this changed, but now we were a scapular as symbol of the habit during the meetings but we can be buried in the habit
I LOVE MY DOMINICAN ORDER BROTHERS AND SISTERS🙏❤

Feast of the Transfiguration falls on August 6. As great a saint as Dominic is, he obviously must yield to a major event of the Lord.
I just joined a Dominicans lady's and I am so blessed

Great presentation Tom. 👏
Thank you.
Thank you Tom. I have been praying about this for a while now. Your video has helped a great deal. Peace be with you.
Hopefully you can find a chapter to join! Blessings to your journey! Ina Carr

Wasn’t Venerable Fulton Sheen a lay Dominican as well? I thought I read that somewhere, but I want to be sure.
