I came in with the Forged in Fire state of mind with tangs initially; I have since calmed down and my tangs are much smaller and much less stressful to carve around.

I think that is a beautiful knife, I would like to see a bigger knife, 6 to 7 inches long. You make awesome knives. Keep it up. 😊

Great knife. Love the rounded integral bolster. Hidden tangs are something I haven’t tried yet even after hobby knife building for 20 years but forging and hidden tangs are definitely my to learn list. I think stock removal needs to take the back seat for me for awhile so I can try new things.👍

Your handle shaping process is much appreciated. Always like to see another maker's process and see if I can pick up any tips and differences that I can apply to my technique. You cannot get that from a 15 second clip...you need to see the entire process. Great looking blade and I agree that Oleg has superior product. I pretty much use it exclusively.

Dude!!! Awesome tip on sanding in that hook at the bottom of the handle I have yet to make a handles like that and I am eager to try now that I have the right tips! I also just posted my first knife video on RUclips! Thanks as always for the inspiration! Wicked clean knife!!!!

Potentially one of your nicest knives so far, if it was me and just IMO I would have put a bright coloured spacer between the handle and the bolster.
With big 1" stock, I kind of worry about your elbow blowing out! Its seriously hard work so wrangle in a hammer monkey with a sledge and save yourself some pain :)

i agree with TyrelKnifeworks about the grey handle to the front of the knife ( thin piece of brass/copper between the bluster and handle just me )
Why no pin ? your drawing showed it
Mr. Rivers if it where not for you i would not be making blades today Thank You!!

Wow! That's a huge compliment! I'm happy that these videos have been helpful! The pin was a "just in case I wanted to do it" part of the sketch. It's not really needed on a knife like this.

Thanks for keeping in the handle shaping, I struggle with handles on my 2x72 and tend to revert to files and sandpaper for the extra control, at the expense of time and effort. It was worth seeing and didn't take too long to go through. Knife turned out fantastic. I noticed you skipped the pin, but did take some chunks out of the tang if I saw correctly. Love the lines and color transitions. The bevel lines and the handle lines match up well and keep the overall theme solid. Another work of art!

Beautiful knife. I love how your design was so intentional. Your advice about sticking to your design is exactly what I needed to hear. Lately when a particular part of my knife doesn’t work out, I end up changing it but then it messes another part up and then I have a scrap knife. Thanks dude!
