I have no problem saying that David Gray is one of the greatest singer/songwriters living. He ranks up there with Bob Dylan for me. His music has soul, meaning and emotion. Love it. The man is pure class
I think the best thing is he's not a one or two album wonder-hell,he keeps popping out albums faster than I can buy them and they are all keepers. Dylan made me buy tons of his music and he couldn't even sing. This guy can do it all ,write,sing,play-just do it all.

This song has an emotional appeal to me...While the lyrics have a positive twist it was a popular song on a NYC radio station that no longer exists during a dark period so it basically has a negative time period but a positive tone which what was I needed after my uncle committed suicide! I heard the song so much then I relate it to that moment but as someone who was pretty down then, the positive tone is something I'll remember. It is like a double edged sword but I just try to see the positive
