      He's absolutely right. It's pretty obvious at this point in the game, but at the start I didn't really do any research into Faerun or its lore. I had a general idea as to who some of the gods were like Ao, Ilmater, Helm, Tyr, etc, but not Shar. I figured she was just a goddess who helped guide people through grief and loss, which would be pretty cool. Then I got to the shadow-cursed lands and saw the horrors there. So I did some research.
      Shar is absolutely not that, she's a cold-hearted bitch who is the ultimate expression of "misery loves company". She lures broken people with promises of relief and just keeps them down 'til they die, have their beliefs warped to serve her willingly and knowingly, or go insane. She is the ultimate loser, forever assmad all over the warmth and life that Selune brought into the world.

    • @bluemoore5874
      @bluemoore5874 11 месяцев назад +15

      same here! I had a vague understanding of the other gods, so I was probably a bit cavalier in telling SH I didn't care about her serving Shar, I figured it couldn't be that bad, just a bit more broody. It actually sounded nice, having a goddess care about the downtrodden, those who found no comfort in the light of society, finding solace in the gentle embrace of night and all that.
      Getting to the gauntlet of Shar made me want to ask SH if she wouldn't like to respec her chosen goddess, damn 😅

      It was a literal miracle. A disciple of Shar who was willing to turn on fellows she had been through so much with up till now, just to fulfill her desire, shows compassion to the broken daughter of Shar's most bitter enemy. The odds of that happening Im sure weren't lost on the Nightsong and I'm sure she had given up hope long ago.

      Yes, you put into words how I felt at the moment but not articulate enough to express myself. Being surrounded by so much hate, negativity, and death up to his point was feeling crushing. Dealing with Thorne, the shadow curse, Last Light Inn being attacked, our tiefling friends being captured, the duke being kidnapped, and everything else going south up to this point was just getting me feeling hopeless. Then ontop of that, failing to persuade Shadowheart to not kill the Nightsong, our last hope of stopping Ketheric, was the final nail in the depression coffin. But then when she decides on her own to spare the Nightsong, it gave me a glimmer of joy. Finally, being greeted with that music and Aylin assuming her aasimar form and going out and start cleansing the land really just filled me with so many emotions, but seeing that there was light at the end of the tunnel made all the struggles up to that point feel worth it.

      Agreed, this is the first game that really felt like a game made out of love and consideration to it's players. It feels like the developers kept pushing and saying "This is not good enough, we can make it better" the writing is fantastic, the ost is great, the characters are all interesting, the combat is really well thought out, the world building is fantastic. This is a game that was truly made out of love. It shows hope in the darkest time for gaming ever, where everything is about monetization, money and exploiting consumers.
      Larian has truly made a game that shows what games were like and what they can be like again. They truly have given us a ray of hope that is slowly now illuminating the industry and what it has become. It is showing consumers what should be expected, it is making triple A developers sweat for the fear of consumers wanting the same quality.
      This game will pave a new history in the coming years. I am sure of it.
      I have also, for a very long time only been depressed when playing games, especially with all the political things going on in the 2020's all the time, but this game has truly made me care for and wanted me to get back into gaming, not only as a consumer, but a creator. I believed art could make people happy, make them consider new perspectives without being forceful, to help people in the darkest of times, I lost sight of that after so many years of things just being for money...but Larian has given me new hope to continue down the industry I am in, to create the best things I can, not for myself but for others.
      There is hope.

I was starting to become a little Sharran just because of Shadowheart's devotion but then decided to give her the choice to decide what to do with Nightsong, without any intereference.
