      IIRC she always does that, in part because Nightsong drops that line about being afraid of wolves and it makes her realize someone knows more about her past than she does.
      Which means this development, where you kill Nightsong, only comes about because you, the player, goaded her to it.

    I just hate how they make it out to seem like Shar is the awful god and all the others are good and full of sunshine. I think all gods should be manipulative and have their own agenda outside “good god fights the bad one”. I just thought it was really dope Shar doesn’t say a word to shadow heart until you to her temple and it makes you feel like your god actually was testing you.

    • @Hevenlee
      @Hevenlee 9 месяцев назад +26

      Shar is not the only cruel God, but she is especially bad because of how pathetic she is- only just short of the dead three. But even socially acceptable gods like Mystra are/can be assholes. It all depends on the story the DM is telling.
      But some Gods will definitely be more merciful than others, if not outright beings of honor and being humble.
      But I digress, Shar isn't the sole shitty god of the forgotten realms.

      @@ibrahimoguz4975 There ARE well intentioned Gods. But you have to understand what you're asking for, if you have a bunch of well intentioned gods there has to be a balance in how they interact or how divine they in fact actually are. Gods in general ALL bestow boons upon their followers, so the good ones tend to not say much, where the self centered and fickle ones will just do what they want to mortals.

      Her domain is darkness, deception, and her elite followers are initiated through the sacrifice of innocents. I’m not sure what you’d expect the game to treat her like. Her end goal is reducing the universe to total oblivion like it was before creation. Other Gods are also assholes like the Dead Three, and arguably presented worse, so I don’t see the reason for complaint over Shar’s pretty accurate depiction.
