I used an online daw called jummbox. its a modified version of beepbox with more instruments/features. there’s also ultimatebox which is more advanced but they’re pretty similar overall (you can look up a tutorial for the basics) I’m still an amateur but something that helped me wrap me head around the process was first listening to other vgm and paying attention to one instrument at a time. after taking turns it was easier to notice how they interact with each other. that and getting comfortable in a workspace helped me a lot. hope that makes sense lol
