Symptoms: need to install a new vent.
Tools: 1/4" nut driver, 5/16" nut driver, Phillips screwdriver, flathead screwdriver, pliers, chisel and hammer, half-round file.

Show Wife video of how complicated it is, while she watches prep fishing gear. When she leaves remove side vent hole with hammer& chisel, reach in new hole with 1/4 socket & rachet. Remove the 1 screw holding the vent line in place, remove vent line, Purchase new 4 inch 24" expandable/bendable aluminum vent line and 4" hose clamp. Install 4" hose clamp on new vent line, slightly tighten so it wont fall off. Install new vent line into new hole while reaching in old vent line hole to guide it onto the blower outlet. Tighten with 1/4 rachet and socket, tape up original vent hole with duct tape. Attach vent duct to new 4" vent coming from the side of dryer. Go fishing, drink beer.
Thanks for reminding me How I installed bottom vent last time. Side hole gave me access to Take out 4" tube. I cut it short enough to add an elbow to direct it down through bottom hole. Then extended with small piece that that slips into tube poking up through floor when I carefully lowered the dryer. Wish I took those pieces off of the old dryer. Too bad that the back is permanently attached.

Don’t they recommend using only metal vents inside the dryer itself? Not that bendable aluminum crap?

No bottom panel Access is wild. Its such a simple thing yet it took me 3 hours
NUTS. They need to take a look at how easy GE does this, and go back to the drawing board.
