I appreciate your Cross Tails recommendation! I'll add it to my Switch Wish List. As for Dark Deity, its replay value is somewhat hindered by how five of its six base classes have an optimal Tier II class to go into for stat development, and it's not even close. Basically, any Ranger, Mage, Cleric, Rogue, or Adept you don't make into a Strider, Magician, Acolyte, Duelist, or Gale respectively will very likely suffer problems in accuracy, evasion, and in getting doubled, and fall off as a result.
Same here. Never heard if Cross Tails, it looks fun. Fire Emblem Three Houses is a A tier game, not S tier for me but yet I'm still really addicted to it. It's a good game but def has flaws
@@naylisyazwina6836 S tier for me. A game of that size of course will have flaws, but if you put it alongside any other game in this genre, it blows them out of the water. In fact, I think 3 houses is better than Engage as a total package. The ONLY major flaw of three houses, is having to do the first half each replay since its basically the same no matter which house you choose. But the renown system w/its replay value isnt something you see every day. Definitely one of the best Srpgs of all time. Especially the way the story is told through various perspectives. Byleth is lied to on EVERY ROUTE, sometimes intentionally, sometimes by people with screwed up perspectives. So putting the truth of everything together was alot of fun. And when you do, wow is that story dark!
Here's my current top 10 trgps on the switch: 1. Unicorn Overlord 2. Triangle Strategy 3. Tactics Ogre Reborn 4. Fire Emblem: 3 houses 5. Redemption Reapers 6. Gloomhaven 7. Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark 8. Front Mission 1st remake 9. Diofield Chronicle 10. CARDS RPG: the misty battlefield (yes this is an upcoming game but the demo has been so good that I'm confidently placing it in my top 10). honorable mention: 13 sentinels: aegis rim (i put this here because it's only 1/3 TRPG and 2/3 visual novel so that may disqualify if from the top 10. if that didnt disqualify it, i'd put this into the top 10 as its simply one of the best stories ever told in gaming).
Fire Emblem is my favorite on Switch. Three Houses is top tier while Engage is a breath of fresh air. Then you have Advance Wars. Making its way back from the grave! Man, these 3 are my faves and all I need for Switch.
I agree but maybe I’m biased being I started my SRPG journey with FE GBA.. Not sure if stuff like AW & XCom counts as they’re regarded more like straight up strategy.. In any event this video is pure genius as far as the genre.. I’d say Triangle Strategy is right behind FE & Valkyria Chronicles
@@Mintcar923 I'd count xcom in the genre. I know a lot of people like that series, but I've just had a hard time getting into it. Maybe I'll have to give them another try!
@@NerdProblemsGaming It’s more or less the non anime Valkyria.. I haven’t spent a whole lotta time with the series myself.. Although as a sci fi buff I really need to as the story is engaging and I grew up playing all the classic Sid Meier strategy titles.. In fact Civilization has always been quite literally my favorite game.. I’m just glad I discovered and all the most important titles are already in the collection
Cross Tails sounds really interesting, definitely keeping my eye on it. Few notable mentions I'd like to add for the fans of the genre would be Banner of the Maid and Langrisser 1&2. Langrisser is way way old but the remakes on Switch elevate it to today's standards. There's branching story paths with multiple endings and which raises the replay value added with the fact that consequent playthroughs open up the challenge mode that increases the difficulty according to how many times you've played through the story.
Fire Emblem has a little bit different feel to it than Final Fantasy Tactics, but it's one of the best Tactical RPG series. I'd definitely recommend checking them out!
NGL I really only knew of Cross Tails because I was looking for a a Tactical RPG with playable cat girls in it outside of the Fire Emblem games on the GameCube and Wii lol
i loved Disgaea series but 6 just didnt do it.for.me because of the auto-fighting mechanic, you just speedfarm/grind through the game, you can choose to do it manualy but the system is there to abuse it 😂
Disgaea has the best art work for characters and level design. Sounds interesting and fun too. Fire emblem engage looks way cooler the three houses. I can’t stand all the character outfits on three houses, regardless of the solid game play that comes from the fire emblem franchise I just couldn’t ever immerse myself in a world with such terrible fashion. Although Dark deity is inspired by retro fire emblem games it lacks the charm and style as the old snes, gba, and even ds consoles. Don’t even get me started about slapping cat ears on pirates lol
A solid list! **Inserting shamelessness here->** You are mad attractive! Just make more videos. Could be you talking about gaming, just peeling an orange, or folding a shirt. I’m here for it🫠

Great games.

Awesome. A few on there I haven't played that weren't out when I made this that I'll have to check out.

Triangle Strategy’s path branching is so good, doesn’t even need to be tactics game, but glad it is. Mario Sparks of Hope better than prequel.

Thanks! I'm always looking for a game to scratch that Final Fantasy Tactics itch.

Cool! I'll have to check those out!
Nice list. I had all but one, which was Cross Tails. Didnt even know that one existed, but I'll be picking it up soon thanks to your video.
Yeah, it was not really promoted at all when it first came out. Hidden gem for sure.
This is a really good and comprehensive guide. Cheers!
Thanks!
I loved Final Fantasy Tactics... I am definitely gonna try Fire Emblem

Thanks for this video. Nice production.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video. I didn't know about Cross Tails and it really got my attention!
