It really is a natural reaction...saw a car crash a really bad one luckily no one hurt but both the girls in the back had pissed themselves an was extremely embarrassed. I gave them my coat an top to wrap around there lower half

So I'm confused on the ending did they run out of food and the main character fix the food prep machine to grind everyone in his crew to food and then once he remembered what happened he ground himself into food?

This was oddly normal (scenarios, not environment obviously) and that's what makes this horror.
I'm really enjoying your narrations. A lot of the time, I can only tolerate hearing things due to health issues so I am near constantly listening to something. I am always watching out for good content that I haven't heard already. Sci-fi horror is my favorite.

the most horrific part of this story isn't the mad scientist messing with memory or the possibility that the alien slim infected jackson and made him possibly omnom the rest of the crew, it's the fact there was an incel on the ship!

@@MagnetarYT Well, it’s deffo something to consider down the line- your growth is starting to pick up (you went from under 1k to over and beyond pretty quick, it looked like!) and you’ve found a really good niche! People seem to look forward to your content, and I know I tend to join Patreons for channels where $5-$10 gets access to videos 12-24 hours ahead of time- even channels with irregular or infrequent posts- it’s almost more worth it in those instances!

when I hear the word lodestar I think of lodestone (magnetite) and star, which means that lodestar might just be an ancient Chinese name for a magnetar. great narration by the way.
Pretty good but too much of a leap without more to connect it when you look back after the reveal.
Nothing hinted at either them running out of food, or him being the sort who’d kill and cannibalize people.
I was expecting it to be the slime mold and the (missing) brain in the jar, but that probably wouldn’t have been better😅

That don't make no sense. Because he made a choice to kill them and use them as foods, So he could survive. So when he got his memories back of what happened, He also should have got the mind set back that let him kill them in the first place. Not to off himself. But i still thank its a great story bec of the Twist ending and mystery.

Only thing I’d try to figure out or master more is guest voices in story’s are super super loud,compared to your normal reading volume so you have it turned up to hear your voice then it’s screaming when a new character voice is introduced

It's literature.
People (good writers) write about how people actually are, warts and all, not some college campus sanitized version of life.
Nobody thinks you're a bad person because you read a non-PC-sanitized story. The end part is not necessary and makes me cringe; The disavowal is beyond unnecessary.
You're a good VA, nobody thinks you're a bad person because you read stories with troubled characters in them.
Imagine a world where authors wrote boring, sanitized characters so as to not piss off moral busybodies.
You'd have the forgettable torrent of crap we get on Netflix, basically.

I don't get the ending at all. Can someone please explain it? Did the main character just kill everyone else or something?
They were apparently running out of food and the main character killed everyone else and processed them into ration packs and had been eating them the whole time. Right when the relief ship docked, he finally remembered what he did and it broke him so he out himself into the processor; the 150 lbs of new ration packs mentioned.

@@thedayidied I was confused to for a bit when the search party said that they didn't find anyone. I was expecting that the main character went crazy and thought "I might as well keep doing it" and was hiding from them just to suddenly jump out and turn them into more meals.
But why did he get headache and memory from the word "Lodestar"?
Could "Lodestar" be the brand or the name of that Ratio Processor?
It was the recall word that Dr.Spencer used when he got his memories suppressed the first time. That's why he found the note in her office.

This is very similar to another space story where a crew member eats the rest of his crew, minus all the other issues
If the author were up for revisions, I'd like to submit the following: the protagonist, if you could call him that, seemed too wimpy. Moreover, I don't think that the situation with the terrarium was adequately explained, or the low power settings. To be fair, I had this playing in the background, so maybe I missed it.
Crisp seemed like a proper prick, but the assault should have been more subtle and built up. Casual grazes perhaps, followed by perhaps hacking her terminal and finding out about the unsanctioned experiments. Or by hacking the Captain's terminal and finding out about an unnamed directory, or by noticing that certain that there were discrepancies with the Spencer's daily logs, after hacking the Captain's terminal. A break in pattern that prompted him to run a script to find where there was recently reallocated disk space that hadn't been overwritten yet.
Maybe Spencer would have made some formal complaints to the captain, and the captain would have started to document such actions, but was pleasantly surprised with Spencer's tone shift? Saying that she wanted the complaints withdrawn and that Crisp made a heart felt apology, and maybe cabin fever was getting the better of him given their time in isolation. Only to find out in later logs that she was absolutely being blackmailed and that she was miserable with her new arrangement with Crisp.
Just casually dismissing a sexual assault by the captain as "unprofessional," seems the high end of unreasonable and unbelievable. However, a sneaky prick of a low tier computer hacker easily cracking an unimaginative Captain's terminal seems absolutely possible.
The details of this story are honestly pretty good, and the blend of familiar and science fiction was done surprisingly well. The twist was completely unexpected, and the ending was wonderfully executed.

You didn't need to leave a disclaimer at the end about the way the men treated the female character in the story. The main character didnt commit a crime by asking her about her relationship status and the captain wasnt in the wrong for thinking that she was taking things a bit too far when she threatened a mans life by shoving him in an airlock for actions that were not worth such a response. The female character proved to have her own issues that caused her problems in social situations and instead of blaming others or calling one of them a creeper for flirtimg with her she could have focused on her own skills to better handle it. Remember that when you label women victims even when they are not victims you are essentially saying that you don't think they are capable of making their own decisions or handeling things for themselves. Additionally in a case like this she was also equally responsible for the way situations regarding her were being handled and that she be acknowledged as well.

The guy was literally sexually assaulting her and you think no one committed a crime? I'd be scared to be a woman around you.

Is it ok to threaten someones life for being grabby? Why dont you do a disclaimer against that then? Is it wrong for her to be toxic when speaking about the harmless creeper? So why not make a disclaimer about that? Or what if someone reads too much into the story and asks what else might have gone on between the characters to cause Crisp to think what he was doing was acceptable should you speculate and try to reason it out or should you say its just a story? Do you get where I'm going with this? Anyone can find anything offensive but your a story teller. Your disclaimer should be at the start of the story where you say "this story contains violence and sexual content so listener discretion is advised" as for what your audience takes away from it you cant control that so dont try. I didn't see a one sided scenario between the doctor and Crisp. She was talking crap about the main character for doing nothing which suggests she is two faced. Not to mention the questionable nature of the rig she was enthusiatically using on him. Now she is saying Crisp got grabby (which may or may not be true because we have already seen how she can blow things out of proportion) so she thru him in the airlock thus threatening his life and she got mad because the captain told them to cut the crap and act like adults. Personally if the captain reprimanded her for "threatening murder" then that wouldnt have been unreasonable especially since its her word against his when it comes to being grabby but we do know what happens if you throw someone out of an airlock without a suit.
