Crisis Suits are XV8s, XV88s are broadside battlesuits, these are heavy fire support variants that do not have jetpacks

XV81-XV86 are commander suits and XV88 is the broadside... but I wonder what the XV87 is... since I doubt they skipped the number.

Dunno if they have one, cause the Tau operate on first number is chassis/hull/suit, and second number is configuration.
So the Broadside is BattleSuit 8, role 8 (anti tank) (Please note that this information is from an old codex, and may be retconned by now)

actually they where according to the wiki, It was until the developed the fisión reactores making them More useful that the Diesel ones were phased out.

Not to forget there are cases where pilots have been injured by some small shrapnel that penetrated the armour but the suit hasn't registered and then been "why does my leg not work? The suits leg is fine"

Farsight nearly died to Cato Sicarius once when he put his power sword into the cock pit and the blade stopped about an inch from his face.
He then almost died again when his suit fell into the water thanks to the said hole made by said sword.
He managed to escape by piloting the suit with just his eyes because he couldnt move his hands or fingers from hypothermia.
And farsight has destroyed some of the best things the space marines employed, even the best can get fucked over by space marine plot armor
@@calebbarnhouse496 t bf, most of the books farsight in in are VERY early in his life and he makes alot of mistakes. There needs to be more books of the 300 yr old "Zen" Farsight, the one who can bitch-slap Ethereals.

@Nyghtking sicarius is half the size, and power of a crises suit with physical limitations, he doesn't really outmatched farsight anywhere except speed, and reaction time, but considering that he'd have to duck to dodge the dawn blade no it's just plot contrive

yeah... XV-8 Crisis suits, XV-88 Riptide suits and XV-25 Stealth suits are what inspired me to grab tau. I still have yet to get stealth suits and am not likely to get a Riptide... but they are why I love the faction.
So Crisis suits are basically Armored Cores. Sick.

I like crisis suits but its not why I started Tau back in 4th. I loved the lore of the other alien races that fight with the tau and wish GW would lean into more instead of just battlesuit stuff

Not to mention the fact that you’re fighting what is essentially a flying tank with the agility of a trained soldier which again, most fire warriors are trained since birth to pilot and operate such systems where only the most skilled or elite fire warriors are able to pilot a battle suit, not to mention the fact that these monstrosities are armed to the teeth and capable of dealing with practically any enemy other than demons or anything absurdly overpowered or ludicrous like a gundam or anime character with a katana, but other than that yeh they’re pretty overpowered and if it wasn’t for the fact that the tau are microscopic compared to say the imperium, they’d put up a fight against say the federation or even the galactic empire from Star Wars.

I'm sure any Tau codex says this, too, but I found it funny that I had to flip through my FFG Deathwatch RPG books to find out what the "XV" in XV88 means. Obviously, it's mostly a human moniker, thanks to the AdMech, but Her'ex'vre (Mantle of the Hero) is what Tau call them, so we get XV84 for Commanders, and the like. I do like them, and I get that Iridium Armor is a thing, but considering how much of a ranged, gun line army Tau like to be, I am a bit surprised no Shas'O takes to the field in a Broadside XV88, using a rail cannon, and supporting forces from a distance. Maybe just not maneuverable enough?

As a XV-88 Broadside fan, i agree theyre the pinnacle of T'au engineering... but Crisis suits are XV-8, which is the design the broadside evolved from lol.
To be fair, about the only way a Tau could tempt me from the Guard would be if I get to pilot an XV8.
Lowkey I'd even go as far as to scan myself and upload myself into a crisis suit like Farsight buddy. Just put me on a server and let me run the crisis remotely

I started playing the tau for the Greater Knarloc , you know the T Rex thing ,love how tanky it is, bit the reason I stayed with the tau is because of how much fire power they have, orks can be a hustle some times but for them I have a a squad of Kroot Carnivores, but the Kris is suit is by far my favorite.

Unless the faction starts winning too hard, then they take away player choice (aka fun), and give them fixed weapon loadouts so they can't put firepower down range at a rate that makes SM players cry.

@@tarektechmarine8209 there is a difference between plot armor and lore. We know exactly how thick and how strong space marine armor is. With our current tech I am confident without titans and ships we can win against all million space marines
