I didn't understand the math but I followed the suggestion to go 24 clicks from zero and got pretty decent espresso grind using my gen-2 1zpresso Jx. Then I reasonned it out that 1 full revolution from zero is 30 clicks, 2 revolutions is 60 clicks, and so on. I simply convert the recommended setting from the "chart" into the number of clicks, using the x3 conversion factor. So simple! Now I can adjust my grind size with different beans ..... Thank you! I understand that most grinders use the same scale adjustment although on a unfamiliar grinder, I would verify the number of click per revolution first, then recalculate the conversion factor accordingly b4 converting the recommended setting into the number of clicks.
Thanks for the video. Problem is, in Germany 1zpresso refers to the grinding chart/manual but there isn't any on the german websites. Now I found them on the US website because of your video! Thanks.
Thanks for the video, until I disassembled the grinder and re-assembled it, I didn't realize that it didn't arrive at the zero point. Now I understand better what the dial actually means, and that my adjustment was quite a bit off on the first 2 days of use as a result. Thanks for the clear explanation, cheers!
This is a great video. I just got the Q2 and went to the website for the grind settings and they seem to have changed the Q grinding recommendations from your video. Do you by any chance have a copy of your settings? Thank you
Hello, thanks for your video. It's so well done, I love how you wrote those post-it notes. Must have been a lot of work. I have a question for you. After you close the burrs by going clockwise until they interlock and the handle doesn't move anymore (going to click 0), how many clicks does it take for you so the crank handle can spinn freely without the slightest touching of the burrs at some small handle position? For me it's 7 clicks until the burrs don't touch at all anymore, I'm worried that my burr set is not very well aligned and my grind will supper from that?
Hello, I test mine. It's about 2~3 clicks to give freely rotate. I bought mine about 3 years ago, and I knew they drop the suggestion clicks for espresso which needs very few clicks from their guide card. I'm not sure if they have modified Q2 or yours just doesn't work like mine. I suggest you consult the company. Good day.☕
Hi Jess. Where can i find this grinding list of the Q2 with the turkish and the espresso. The official list you can download at 1zpresso does not show that. Greets Frank.
Hi Frank. I bought my Q2 about three and half years ago. I think they provide different grinding suggestion card now. You can watch the previous edition in this video at 1:03 if you want a closer look. Good day, Jess
This was in Lance Hedrick's budget espresso video, so it seems like it can. I think it might lack fine enough adjustments you may also have to try adjusting for fractions or half of a gram to get the dialing in right
Sorry but for a french press it says 24-28 -- so if i want to do 28 , i rotate full clockwise and close the gap, then two full rounds (20 ) and then 8*3 = 24 clicks anti clockwise again ?

I see they took away the Turkish and espresso settings. You can see 1:03 in the video. (Choose better quality video would be clearer)
@@jesslee3146 will do! Thank you

@@jesslee3146 Thanks for the information Jess!! 🙌🙏
have you ever tried espresso with 1zepresso Q2 with delonghi ec680 with an uncompressed filter
No 😅 I didn't try espresso. I usually make pour over coffee.
@@jesslee3146 And which setting do you use? I honestly make my pour overs at 12 xD
@@QuantumSpark 😮12 seems very fine to me. I usually use 20 plus 2 clicks😀
@@jesslee3146 12 sounds ridiculous, how does it taste?
Do you think it could do good espresso?
I have no idea😅 I don't make espresso.

Yes. Since 24 is a lot to count, I would rotate 3 full round (30) then back 2*3=6 clicks.😀
