Kirk, The word 'legend' is probably tossed around too often in the auto world but one thing we can all agree on is that the Acura/Honda Legend 6:30 really is a.... Legend. 😉 Speaking of true legends, we can only assume Honda has dedicated an entire wing of their museum to the fantastic Civic, Accord and Fit Shuttle wagons and that you simply did not have the time to show that wing in this video. 🤩
Honda just rules! 🔰❤️🎌 Started not by some conglomerate but by a man with an interest and passion in engineering now to a company doing cars, planes, bikes, robotics, mowers, etc. They’re big on embracing their enthusiast following and preserving their past like this museum and the one in SoCal I live nearby to. I’ll continue to support this company.
Regardless of what people who hate Honda say, Honda is a well-respected automaker in the industry. so many legends cars that never seem to get older because of how they look. for example, the NSX, the S2000 among others, are still eye-catching on the road while they're already old. Honda is such a helluva company.

Hoping it’s finally some news of the Prelude and confirmation for it coming to the US!
My 3 favorite Honda ( cars ) , the second generation Honda Prelude, the Acura Legend Coupe ( surprised not to see one here , it is a rare classic), and the first generation Accord, especially the four door, I considered it a luxury car back then.
Great video! Great museum! Having followed Honda for decades, this was a real blast from the past. Luckily Soichiro Honda was convinced to switch to water cooled engines. Charles Kettering tried to make a cooper-cooled engine for Chevrolet in 1923 and it was a complete disaster.

That AeroDeck is really cool. But that 4-Door 1986-1988 Accord is pristine. I had a gray/gray 5-speed 4-door 1987 Accord LX as my first car at 17 in 1989. Loved, loved, loved that car. A shame they didn’t have a Prelude.

Stick with Honda for household machinery, motorcycles and outboard motors and Toyota/Lexus for cars.
@@rightlanehog3151 That’s definitely the plan. My future father in law rides a Goldwing and I wouldn’t mind having one of those.
@@Lexus-Revival-Garage I double checked to see if Toyota made outboard motors a few years ago when was I was shopping for a new one. I was willing to pay the premium for a Honda but they did not make a model that was compatible with my boat. As such, I settled on a Tohatsu.
Prelude with manual hybrid would be good tho
I don’t know how they’re going to pull a manual off with two electric motors though. I’d love to see them try, however. I’m curious.

Ill forgive you for skipping the JACCS EG6 Civic SIR and the Castrol CD4 Accord touring race cars😊. You were probably very overwhelmed as expected or you just didn't recognize them. so cool. I had a 79 Prelude, that was a treat. I thought it was a race car, and drove it like one. Simple pleasures. Have a retro-ish Africa Twin, all done up in the Dakar paint, that's a lot of fun. Not a lot of power, but just fun to put around on, not sure i'd take it off-road much. It's capable, but maybe i'm not, and don't want to have to pick it up. We never got the original ATs in the States, but some have made their way across the ponds in recent years.
The question is when are you importing a Honda Beat?

What fun. I must have missed if you mentioned it but why didn't you buy a CBR instead of the Kawi? Ive never rode Kawi's so i cant comment, and CBR's are iffy dependant on the version and year you get but still. Why no CBR? The RR-R is a sweet ride i have number 13. Its underpowered from the factory so you wanna tune it for full effect but that's most machines really. 🥰
I was waiting for the new CBR 650r but couldn't wait
@@KirkKreifels Aww, well the Kawi is sexy im sure its a great bike. Honestly Honda really detunes their stuff. You need a good honda mechanic who knows enough to open it up in the right areas. And as much as I love the brand not all their stuff is up to par but I'm a speed demon and the brand is focused on the masses. Not me. So that said its a great brand if you keep that in mind.

If this trip is not to see and/or drive new Prelude then be a bit underwhelming. Possible Acura ADX but wouldn't be launched in Japan.

I mean the next Japan mobility show is coming up but I dont think theres anything exciting other than the classic JDM returning as futuristic concepts. And ill doubt automakers will do more this year, but anything can happen
And yeah it's just futuristic eco friendly stuff, nothing exciting for car fans. Dunno if that ruined the event that WAS originally the Japan motor show (but I guess we have the auto salon)
