I think thry consider these things and many things which are secret the problem is that the processes are very slow and lots of red tape making the process efficient also if we depend on govt companies then we are doomed we should involve more private focus on future tech and get govt companies in line we shud focus not only on self sufficient but also as a top 5 defense exporter in next 10 years

China is growing it's navy not only to protect its own backyard but also to project power in Indian Ocean and Pacific. When your enemy can defend and attack and you only can defend, you have already lost.
Also, aircraft carriers are important for power projection. Subs are only for attack roles, while aircraft carriers, being powerful and visually non-stealthy, allow for different missions, including HADR Ops.
Because they understand reality, they are not driven by fake experts, who are also under conflict of interest.

Due to f-35b. They can have fifth gen fighter on 25k ton helicopter carrier also.
Japan can only carry 10 F-35B on their helicopter carrier. Only 20 F-35 with 2 helicopter carriers.
We can use CATS warrior as the fixed wing fighters in place of F-35B.
Better have another carrier AND 2-4 helicopter carriers.
We need to develop engines for aircrafts, drones, surface to air systems like S-400 on immediate basis to support the development of area denial platforms.

I disagree with your analysis, in 21st century Aircraft carrier is useless for a country like India because we believe in defense. The other nations namely US and China are both aggressive that’s not our way of doing things. Another large power Russia has also declared AC useless which can be destroyed with barrage of modern supersonic and (hypersonic in future) missiles easily. Just bcuz some countries are thinking of converting LHD is due to availability of F35 to them. They are not specifically looking to build large carriers but making a smart move of dual use of available platforms. Both are different things.
Same amount of 5+bn can be divided to buy nuclear submarines , drones and developing our island with air strips ( unsinkable carrier ). When we have a limited budget which is clear across armed forces the procurement needs to be in smart areas and bring harmonization amongst various arms of forces. I don’t feel we achieve that with carrier. From an engineering point of view it’s something to be proud of but from use it’s not worth the bill! For ex: you can get 36 more loaded Rafales plus a couple of submarines at same price!

I don't like the concept of making a new aircraft carrier, coz it's not aircraft carrier u have to build, u need to have destroyers, frigates cruisers and other ships, so it will give u a total buckload of 10-14B $$ and let me give u this straight 10 billion dollars will give u more than 100 rafale so think about it. I am not a critic so i have a recommendation also, so make a aircraft carrier island.
the aircraft carrier takes long time to build, if we approve it today then navy get his 3rd aircraft carrier almost 10 year later. 3rd aircraft carrier is a future needs of Indian navy, it'll be very helpful of India if it build with nuclear powered.

@@arunkumarts8279 The solution is Russian Priboy E ,23900 class design with 40000 tonnes displacement,which also has options to install short range Catapults.
Even if it is with Steam Catapults which can launch fighters & UAV,it worth it.
Such ship would cost 1.25-1.5 billion dollars with Catapults for export customers with local manufacturing.
A 40000 tons displacement ship with Catapults can easily launch 18-24 normal Marine fighters,so 2 such ships would have a fleet of 36-48 fighters along with 4-6 AEW & 12-16 Helicopters in total,thus considerably increasingly our Naval power.
INDIA needs bombers 1st...we dont have long range bombers like USA , RUSSIA CHINA.....we should go for bombers as soon as possible....

Sir I know u don't agree with our view of not having a aircraft carrier. So let me tell u the problems
- we don't have fund relatively
- India don't have big opponent in Indian ocean.
- we have 2 aircraft carriers already
-We have islands in choke points from strait of malacca to Lakshadweep.
- We don't have jets to have aircraft carrier, ya we have TEDBF bt they will also be replacing mig 29k after 8-10 yrs
- How amortization work ? even if you are buying Gerald ford its just 1.1 billion $/ year. (We have that money).
- For now ( You will see one Chineese carrier in Gwadar and another one entering IOR often).
- We have 2 and none is flat top (I have discussed that multiple times why we need flat top.
- Island can ever be an aircraft carrier talk to any Marcos and they will tell you why cant :)
- Vishal will anyways take 10 years from here so you will have time to make your fighters :)

GOI should immediately approve a 45000 tonne AC with Catobar launched system. Nuclear or conventional doesn't matter. But it has to be delivered to Navy within 10 years. We can take help from France. When our economy grows we can develop a Nuclear powered super carriear as a replacement of INS Vikramaditya.. kya bolte ho dosto.

u forgot to mention 9 amphibious ships of US Navy. (2 America Class and 7 Wasp Class ). They displace about 45,000 ton for America class and 40.5K ton for Wasp class.

Bro, I analysis everything, everything is quiet clear to my mind regarding future threats but a huge barrier is "make in India ". After so much hush push, they managed a carrier recently. Still testing. But for vast nation with super vast need, u have to think priority wise. Now we have support of Quad. They have most carriers. India has just one nuclear-powered sub, sub without nuc-powered is just a target in this hi-tech warfare era. So, Navy is huge investment zone but there's support, till then take Air Force to challenging height. UAV r about to come. After the deal, nuclear-powered subs & carriers with advance missile launcher & best jets. Say 3-4 yrs from now. This was my analysis about Southern Asian country named India.

I don't agree with you. USA always had 11 super carriers but they are also not sure if it's required. Their strength of smaller sea vessels have decreased a lot after ww2 as they have invested heavily in carriers.
France carrier is 25 years old so it's Normal they will plan another. British navy has 2 and they planned it long back.
Only navy which is obsessed with carrier is China and it's normal.

I totally agree with you that Submarine and Aircraft carrier have different role and no one can replace other one. If India want to be blue water navy then we need at least 3-4 aircraft carriers and 4-6 LHDs plus 12-18 nuclear submarines.
Although Pakistan navy is not a threat today but they are trying to build with help of China, considering 10 years of Pakistani navy from now, we must plan and work before they poses threat to us.
Guess the best aircraft carrier it is Admiral Kuznetsov because it takes very good care of its crew by getting back over and over to maintenance docks so that crew can go to their homes and relax and feel relieved of not being in the best rusting carrier and be safe lol 🤣
India need aircraft's at large scale too to complete aircraft carriers requirement which we are lacking by not making own naval jets
India 🇮🇳 should too start its focusing on our own LHD's in good number... Our third Aircraft carrier should be CATOBAR-Nuclear Powered Ship and 3 Aircraft carrier can be complimented with at least 5-7 LHD's Nuclear Powered and our UAV's and Naval CATs system can operate from these LHD's and boost our Power.
The original plan was to have 3 AC and 4LHD so one LHD with each AC while one goes for maintenance.. but now the navy is most likely to go for 2LHD now and a third AC and might go for another 2 LHD as follow on after the delivery of first 2...

But the 3rd AC should be a Catobar launched one.. otherwise it can't operate large fixed wing AWACS.
