I admire you for getting on the road with a transmission glitch. Our Promaster is heading south crossing to South America in January from Panama where we are getting our brakes refreshed. Van glitches. Our goal for 2024 is the opposite end from Alaska in Patagonia. Good luck and will wish you the best. And the transmission. Cheers from Davíd Panama.

I’m in a Winnebago Travato which is basically a built-out Promaster 3500. I’ve taken it up to Alaska, including up to the Arctic three times now. You’ll have fun.

Best way to Alaska is the Marine Highway(ferry from Bellingham, Wa). I'll be going up that way and drive back. It's a great trip. Maybe we'll see y'all up there. Good luck!
+@bkbland1626 I’d love to do that route but I won’t put Roodle dog 🐕 threw the ferry. He didn’t do so well on the 17 hr Newfoundland ferry.
Look forward to your 2024 adventures where ever you take us. Just finished "Traveling Roberts" Alaska series, maybe check it out. It looks like a hard trip with winter type weather even in the summertime. Loved your Newfoundland iceberg series...I rarely boondock like you guys do but really enjoy ALL your adventures.

Hi Dave ,Carrie and Roodle, for the meet up north of Quartzsite highway 95 turn right on plumosa road. Large blm area that is easy for all size vehicles. Just a suggestion for you. We plan on visiting you three 😅.

That is so nice that you are having meet-ups. We had plans to come to Quartzsite this year, but unfortunately, my husband is having a problem with a kidney stone, which means we must stay stationary until after his surgery. Have a great time.

Happy new year dave,carrie,and roodle. Have you thought of getting an extended warranty coverage? It might save you guys in the long run when dealing with engine and transmission issues. Just a thought.
we bought one and it has already expired! It was SO MUCH MONEY and didnt cover any of our small repairs we had to have done in the last five years! In addition they did not tell us that there had to be a certified promaster mechanic on site. We will probably never buy an extended warranty again.......we will just save that money in case we need repairs.

Might I suggest you start a Patreon string with suggestions about Alaska. I'm glad you guys are busy in AZ, because that means you can supplement your income. Make some money when you can! I don't have my RV yet, so meeting up with you in Quartzite won't happen, but I'm sure you'll have some lovely company with all your supportive friends and Patreons! I wish you three the best for 2024, and hopefully Stormtrooper will endure. (I would suggest you get tow insurance, because Alaska is B-I-G...and if you need a 200-mile tow, that can break the bank. After all, how many Chrysler/Dodge/RAM dealers are there in Alaska?). There will be some places you cannot expect to drive to: Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan) however, the AK highway is a wonder! Get the expensive guidebook (about 300 pages) and it describes the entire route plus all the other major highways, and TWO spare tires might help, if you have the room. Some roads are gravel only, and driving hundreds of miles on gravel could extract a toll on your tires. The drive through British Columbia and Yukon is magical, and will make your Labrador/Newfoundland/Nova Scotia trip pale by comparison, but I think you know this!

My bucket list biggie for 2024 is the total solar eclipse. Lucky for me it only requires a trip from my apartment out to the parking lot!
