Did you go on the back 'mountain road' from the Elan Valley reservoirs to Aberystwyth? That's a fantastic road, especially driving into a sunset. Some epic roads around there and Llyn Clywedog. Wales has the best driving roads full stop. I would recommend further north around Lake Vyrnwy and the back roads towards the west coast. Just avoid the boring Evo triangle and you can't go wrong.

Please tell me how, it doesn't do any comparisons. The only thing it does is have them in the same video. That doesn't make it a comparison. Where was the driving of both of them? In order to make a valid comparison one needs to drive both cars, he never did. He just drove the v8...

I found it very informative and well delivered. i own a V6 which i love but after test driving a V8 i am seriously considering raiding a lot of piggy banks to upgrade. I have to say not a very good comparison at all. You didn’t compare noises really. You should have done them from stationary and driving. You only drove the v8 which isn’t the way to do it as far as I am concerned...

I completely understand your conclusion.... however.... I prefer to navigate life in stealth mode. I am a jaguar rather than a lion, and thus the V6S is my vehicle of choice. I will wave to you as I pass on the freeway, the blue flashing lights having been conveniently preoccupied by your lion.

My husband bought the XFS 3 years ago after watching one of your videos. He test drove the 5 litre, V8 R-Dynamic (2020) F-Type yesterday, and while he said it was an amazing drive, he still prefers the V6 S. Why? 1. It's not worth the extra money (in his humble opinion. 2. It reminded him of an American muscle car, and 3. He prefers the car to be more like the original icon, E-Type with the twin exhausts. Don't get me wrong, it's one of the world's great V8's, but it's the V6 all the way!

    • @fastandcarcurious4768

Great here that people are watching my videos to help with their car choices. The V8 R is a beast, but heavy. V6 and 4 cylinder are more sporting in their handling.... but the V8 is brutal. I guess it depends on your personal preferences. Latest R has the new EU regs applied and so no real noise below 3500 rpm... which was always its USP. Shame :(

@@fastandcarcurious4768 Just a quick update. He drive the V6 S today, and much preferred the V6, as it was lighter and more sportier. He said that cornering was so sweet in the V6 compared to the V8. As you said, the V6 is more nimble. He also added that both cases are truly beautiful, powerful and so elegant. It's just your preference, and whichever you buy, no one's a loser. Greatest car ever!

ALL wrong. The E-Type was a pile of shit and considered so where they know about cars- Italy. The facts are that the V6 is an ordinary motor like many, many others, whereas the the V8 compared to other V8's is exceptional in every aspect. Your husband, I'm sure, needs assistance in certain functions....

V6 sounds like more of a driver's car and still has enough drama going on - and it's just as stunning as the V8 to look at. So, I'll keep my 20K and then, when I've saved up enough money, buy a V6.

On the used market I paid $6K more for my V8 that I sold my V6. The V6 feels underpowered, the V8 is an unbeatable monster. Also, a RWD V8 is lighter than an AWD V6. The weight difference is minimal,so the torque difference (displacement) is what matters to acceleration (F=MA), and the V8 has 2/3rds more.

I'm a old school muscle car guy and love the sound and crack of Nitro funny cars and such, but being it would be an everyday driver, I would think that popcorn sound, as beautiful as it is, would get annoying after awhile? If you take it out of the active exhaust, is it still pretty popcornish??

HarleySpike I’ve driven quite a few F Types and the newer ones have actually been toned down. The V8’s are much quieter sub 3k revs and so the around town experience isn’t as noisy or as violent as it used to be. Now, depends on your tastes, but they may or may not be a good thing. One of the benefits of F Types over their competition is that you didn’t need to wring their necks to get a decent noise. Regulation changes saw to that!
