Lyrics (Including personal edits):
Feel the sting of the whip on my shoulder
With the salt, of my sweat, on my brow
Elohim, God on high, can you hear your people cry
Help us now, this dark hour
Deliver us
Hear our call deliver us
Lord of all remember us here in this burning sand
Deliver us, there's a land you promised us
Deliver us to the promised land.
My son, I have nothing I can give
But this chance that you may live
I pray we'll meet again if He will…
Deliver us
Hear our prayer, deliver us
From these famished years as slaves, we've grown too old to stand
Deliver us! There's a land you promised us
Deliver us, to the promised (land)
…and from the bondage (and)
To that promised,,,
land
Hush now my baby, be still love don't cry
Sleep as you're rocked by the stream
Sleep and remember my last lullaby
So I'll be with you when you dream
River oh river, flow gently for me
Such precious cargo you bear
Do you know somewhere he can be free?
River, deliver him there
Brother you're safe now, and safe may you stay
I have a prayer just for you
Grow baby brother, come back someday
Come and deliver, us too
Deliver us Send a shepherd to shepherd us
And deliver us to the promised…
Land!

you are truly amazing 🧡
Curiosity is killing me; the bass notes are edited down an octave right? There are so few people who can physically hit those notes, especially with the incredible tenor and high range you have. (A5s all day, wow!) Either way, the weight of the bass adds so much, and turns amazing a cappella into truly epic orchestration.
As a singer I am blown away by your range and skill (those runs!!), not to mention the talent and time it must have taken to arrange and edit this. It honestly makes me cry almost every time I hear that perfect ending.
Rene Simon
beautiful
Sam - I just stumbled into this and am floored.... so many questions 1) can you put this on a 10 hour loop and post? 2) what software did you use? 3) how do you sing in 27 octaves?!? :) Your use of 9ths 11ths and 13ths is insane in this.... EVERY TIME I listen I hear something new and awesome and get chills.... I am going to go through some of your originals later but man... I don't know why I haven't heard this before.... Do you have some sort of sheet music for this for purchase? or I'd even love to see the video of the computer program screen as its playing and seeing all everything going at once... I immediately thought Bluecoats from DCI could pick this up and play ... Would love to hear your arrangement in brass.... Keep doing this stuff man - your complete impact is probably not recognized by you, but this REALLY moved me.....
Imagine all the goosebumps you’ll give to others if you also sing the Plagues
OMG yes! 😱
this
yesyeSYESYESYES!!!
Yes yes YES, a thousand times YEEEESSSSS!!!!
My soul would ascend
Prince of Egypt is one of the most underrated movies of all time as well as one of the best soundtracks of all time
Prince of egypt and hunchback of notre dame
Kitty V yes I agree I love the hunchback and the music is so powerful
YES ONE HUNDRED TIMES YESSS
I believe it's thanks to its religious theme. Some people just can't look past it and can't enjoy it like any other movie. I'm not religious yet I liked it very much but I know people who won't even touch it because it's a biblical story.
KARMAZYNA yea same I’m not religious either but there is moments here where the story is so powerful you just feel it like god talking through the bush
while you're on the prince of egypt, you gotta do Heavens Eyes.
I SECOND!!!!!! The meaning of that song is soo deep
AND THE PLAGUES!! The Plagues Acapella would be.... mwa!
Pretty much every song from that movie would be 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
I think he should just do the whole soundtrack. XD
Do When You Believe
This guy is going to get immediately hired as chorus leader *in heaven*
Amen
He is
actual aloud laughing... i'd love to be a part of it myself.
Sam Aguilar, I’d vote for him - hell yeah!
Angels be like: what the hell’s a precussion?
You get to the pearly gates with the holy choir and *It's just hundreds of him.*
When your friends didn't help u with the project, but ur so talented.
When you're supposed to be the singer in a band but all the other members left you
I cannot believe that this is real. Like someone put in the time to arrange, record, produce, edit, and put this out.
I'm astounded by the sheer talent and dedication that you possess to be able to create any video you create, and every video you make blows me away... but this one is on another level. You are brilliant.
Couldn't have said it better. the original is such a special song that i thought twice before clicking it, cause i wouldn't like ot hear a bad cover of it, and he blew the roof! simply amazing.
I totally agree. I was just watching and listening, and aside from how beautiful it was, all I could think was how much work went into this. Love you, Sam! Amazing, amazing work.
agree one MILLION percent wow my ears and soul have been blessed. I hope he keeps making music forever.
This was my exact thought when i first saw this. Absolutely incredible

Pardon me while I pick my jaw up off the floor.
Could you pick up mine as well? It’s right over there, near your feet.
You too?!

Satan: Where are all these jaws coming from?
Mine left a crater
@Sage of fire hahaha
I no joke started laughing and crying when this song ended, goose bumps on every part of my body. Prince of Egypt is one of the most brilliantly composed scores and you've outdone yourself this time Sam.
Paul Owens exactly. This movie is an amazing one of a kind
Me too! Tears actually sprang to my eyes and my mouth was hanging open. Amazing!!!
One of the greatest animated films ever
I bet in 10 years, people will have this suddenly in their recommended.
We had the chance to experience this now 🙌🏾
Only took 6 months.

Are you talking about his high or his low?

*sing The Plagues and i will be forever in your debt.*
Yes^^
ISN'T THAT RIGHT, LEONE
He hasn't done the Plagues yet, but he did do "through heavens eyes" if you haven't heard it :)
It seems that you are now forever in his debt then.

theonlycatonice right this movie was a trophy 🏆
this movie is so underrated, it deserved this.
VOLËNA Love to love this movie is to love the Bible...cause that’s where this story is from 😊
Malika Diza
I highly disagree. You don’t need to be apart of any religion and/or love the bible to enjoy the movie. I’m an agnostic atheist, yet I literally fall in love with this movie every time I watch it.
This movie deserves so much more
As a musician, for my mental health I don't dare to try to imagine the amount of work that was put into this.

This song scares my 1 year old, lol.

Dude, who needs instruments when this man's vocal chords EXIST?
Man, I still can't get over how awesome this version is
this is so beautiful I'M GETTING EMOTIONAL OVER THE MOTHER'S SOLO
also can't get over 0:59 for some reason
I love how he "dances the sounds" with his hands & arms- how certain sounds get certain movements. My life is so much better for finding this channel!
Agreed!
Yeah it’s really great

I’ve always dreamt of pentatonix doing this but this is actually way more impressive .
Hey now. Let's not give up on them until they do it (if they ever actually do it). I think they'd be able to rival this at the very least
Your vocal range is stunning! What a phenomenal job!
Daniel Cummins may i say, too much high😒
well the solos are originally done by women and he’s matching pitch, פורת טיירי . I’m sorry if you already knew that
“Elohim, Adonai, can you hear your people cry?”
Makes me emotion each time i hear it in all versions.
THE PLAGUES is now out ruclips.net/video/DFIHKyZTPqsn/видео.html Enjoy!!!
Sam Robson Thus Saith the Lord...
Beautiful Sam!
Please do Heaven's Eyes next!
Thank you sooooo much Sam! I have been anxiously awaiting “The Plagues” song!!
Ed Davis he did that one already, fam.
I love your interpretation of “Elohim, God in high” at 0:58. So artful.
Langston Lynch I LITERALLY THOUGHT OF THE SAME THING!!! I rewinded that part like 10x. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Lemuel Aaron Gonzales elo _him_ , *GOD ON HIGH*
That's the signature phrase of this whole cover! Simple as that.
Elohim is one of the respectful names for god given by the hebrews like Adonai. I find it heartwarming how he sang it, like as to call unto god full of awe and looking up skywards! I really felt that. In all this is sung with so much emotion it's simply wonderful!
"Elohim" and "Adonai"
⚠️ MILD PHOTOSENSITIVITY WARNING⚠️
There is some flashing used as a transition effect. Additionally, the various facecams often fade in and out in a way that may trigger viewers sensitive to light-and-dark patterns. If you have epilepsy and are very sensitive to flashing lights and patterns, you may want to turn down your screen brightness!
Personal note: while I do not have epilepsy, flashing lights and patterns do unfortunately trigger disorientation, headaches, and sometimes migraines for me. I’ll gladly take those little things rather than seizures for obvious reasons, but my sensitivity to flashing lights and patterns allows me to identify potential triggers with little risk to my own health. If this seems unnecessary to you, that’s absolutely fine, I can’t change your opinion, but I don’t want viewers who came for some excellent music to leave with medical problems. Have a nice day or night, wherever you may be on this Earth!!
This is the first video where I've had a few epilepsy warnings, point taken though!
❤️ thank you
Thx for the warning. I stopped watching, just listen it.
I've never had it before but I had some weird disorientation with this video,so thank you for the warning :)
I love this comment. You didn’t attack, accuse or berate. There are no harsh criticisms or over exaggerated claims. Just a warning, a well thought out warning for those who may have a condition they’re not in control of. Thank you for your earnest and your fairness. It’s so rare to find on the internet these days. ❤️ Have a great day!

HIGHLIGHTS TIME!
0:00 I'm not gonna lie, I like the voice more than the original trumpet solo, it makes the final "deliver us" feel like a sort of callback.
0:16 Brings himself into view once his name is displayed, nicely done.
0:33 Man he really nailed that percussive sound. Also the beginning of a very aesthetically impressive video.
0:41 Such a small detail, yet so powerful.
0:47 And the beginning of very entertaining and engaging choreography. He didn't have to do it, but he did anyway, and we are thankful for it.
0:53 I like to think those chordal interjections mirror the groans and screams of agony, really cool (and a little unsettling) effect.
0:59 Someone in the comments (@Langston Lynch in case you were curious) praised the "artful" interpretation of "Elohim, God on high". And I've realised that I agree. Also like to think the triangle symbolises the Holy Trinity but I could be imagining it.
1:09 Aesthetic fits the lyrics, nice little detail.
1:25 This was the first time I saw the use of the old gramophone speaker as a horn, and I've loved it ever since.
1:29 David's star reference? Either way it looks cool.
1:44 That swell... the mmMMmm effect... and the lingering reverb afterwards... I love it...
1:46 The percussive hits are so epic... also the outlining frames look like John Wick a bit.
1:48 I don't speak Hebrew but I believe you. So hypnotic in its tone and reverb...
2:01 Woah bass
2:14 Hey, it's Peregrine Tuk!
2:34 Mmmm jazz
2:36 Man the bottom two are really going for it huh
2:43 Epic aesthetic following an ever expanding frame layout.
2:46 Mmm tranquil this is 2:52 nice WOAH WHAT IS THIS SLICE OF HEAVEN
2:59 I totally buy his mother impression.
3:06 Subtle choreo detail, but it adds so much.
3:17 Nice chromatic bassline. (idk I like it)
3:34 I don't know what it is but something about this chord in particular makes me love it.
3:53 This is one of the things I love about Sam. When he uses dissonance, he uses for good reason, either for jazz contexts, or to convey emotion. And this conveys emotion. The sound of that M7#9b13 (F#M/D) has pulled at something deep within from the first time hearing it.
4:05 Dense harmony and aesthetics. Love it.
4:18 It starts happening earlier but it's more obvious here: the shot literally zooms in on different parts of the bigger layout instead of inserting a new shot, interesting detail.
4:23 Nice bit of chromatic motion as well as a little bit of cool aesthetic.
4:26 Holy vocal range Batman
4:29 Whoa. That's all I have to say, whoa.
4:46 Subtle almost-licc
4:59 Little cello countermelody in the background somehow does so much.
5:05 Oh boy here we go...
5:16 Mmmm jazz 2
5:29 Excellent choir sound.
5:33 More cool aesthetic-
5:39 Never mind here's an even cooler aesthetic.
5:45 This is it. This is moment that brings tears to my eyes every single time, including now. The passion, pain and desperation in that voice is undeniable and unforgettable.
5:50 I'll be honest, I like this ending better than the original. Maybe just because it's more epic whereas the original is perhaps more tender.
5:57 Holy moly, if I had a dollar for every frame on screen... I'd have a lot of money.
This video was what inspired me to start making these comments. I'd list every time I got goosebumps but then the comment would be twice as long and it's already plenty long as is.
If you're watching this for the first time and for whatever reason decided to go straight to the comments with the video playing in the background and somehow found this comment, I hope you enjoy and are moved by it as much as I was and am.
Thank you Sam. Your music is a gift.
Sincerely,
Oscar Gill
I don't think you know what jazz is.
@@mikecordes I mean jazz in the uninformed way. I know that jazz is a genre with complex historical roots and even more complex sociopolitical and philosophical stems, and as such cannot really be categorised. I just like calling crazy chords jazz.
Protip: Listen to this song through your car speakers with the bass turned up. You're welcome :)
Melissa L. Totally just did that with my little cousin, her response “can your ears nut?” 😝😝😝😝
Haven’t watched yet...but this was one of my favorite bible films as a kid. I know you did amazing. Ima watch it a little later. Please put these on an album!!
Edit: just watched...tears at the end. You are blessed my friend. Circle of life is still my favorite, but this is a VERY close second. Absolutely stunning. My friends will love this!!
yesss an album!!
A lot of the accounts in the bible may be put together just to tell a story. But I loved these movies as a kid. Wonderful singing in all of them.
This is all I ever wanted.

I literally sobbed laughing at this because my bf didn't get it and I had just watched the movie with him the day before smh
Omg I love this comment so much since I understand it 😂😂
Lol I got it right away 🤣 thank you
This is the only valid a cappella cover of this song
Check out Voctive’s version. Magnificent singers.
@@Nancyshank It's too hard to compare

Thanks for your input, and to your first part. You're not alone--I have felt that way so many times throughout my life. I can't stop listening to this. Forget the effort it took to make this. The sheer amount of talent on display in this production is incredible. I can't even find words to describe the vocal and compositional mastery I just witnessed.
Me at 0:28: Oh, here comes the loud drum part, I wonder how he's gonna do it
Me at 0:31: Oh, I guess he's not gonna do it. Makes sense, it's a more quiet style
Me at 0:33: *Gets basically jumpscared*
Me at 0:35: Oh no, he definitely did it
Dude. Just. DUDE. That was stunning, visually and sonically. Let me just say, RIP Ofra Haza, but boi you did her absolute justice with those vocalizations and her Hebrew verse, your octave range is stunning and this was just fucking beautiful. I don't know what else to say, but damn dude, I'm blown away. This is up there with my absolute favourites of single person Acappella arrangements. I would love to see you do an arrangement of 'Let My People Go', because that song is also a stunning one and I feel like you could do it justice. The Prince of Egypt is so underrated. You have done this amazing piece such justice. I'm beyond amazed!! 🔥❤️
God really snapped when He made you because this is truly amazing, Sam. Your range is to die for!
Man, it annoys me how underrated this arrangement is...

Sam this is just beautifully done. I didn't think I could love this song more, but this was actually possible after hearing this version!
Really well done!
Hila
LITERALLY in tears. As a Christian and a lifelong fan of The Prince of Egypt, I have to say that you were SPECTACULAR. Keep on keeping on, good sir. And BLOODY GOOD SHOW
How many weeks (months?) does a project like this take you usually, from writing the voices till the final editing? All your multitracks are absolutely breathtaking.
This needs to be heard by everyone, because this is honestly the best cover I’ve ever heard. The amount of raw emotion easily rivals that of the original. Your understanding of music, and how you choreograph your videos is unparalleled, and it blows my mind. Please continue to make these.
Yup, the final "Deliver us" was a perfect as I hoped it would be.
Welp,
That was the most amazing thing I've heard.
What if Jacob Collier and Sam collabed?
I've been very curious what "When You Believe" could sound like as a collaboration of a cappella artists. _This_ times...however many, I can't even imagine. I don't even have the words to express how much I liked this, I just have to agree with how amazed others have been.
This was truly divine

RUclips ALGORITHM YOU'VE DONE GOOD
If you’ve never been nominated for a Grammy yet, this arrangement and production has to be seriously considered. That may seem hyperbolic to some, but I don’t mention the Grammy word unless I see or hear a legitimate contender. Well done Sam.

Chapter 2
1My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.
2For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;
3And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:
4Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?
5Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
6But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?
7Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?
8If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
9But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
10For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
11For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
12So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
13For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.
14What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
15If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
17Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
19Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
20But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
21Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
22Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
23And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
24Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
25Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
26For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
Lmao he said " Deliver us, BAH BAAAAHH!!!" 😂😂🙏1:26
I have been waiting for this ever since I discovered you years ago. When I saw the notification on my phone first thing this morning, my face broke out into a huge grin and you totally delivered. Ever since I was a kid, this has been one of my favorite movies and I am very familiar with the soundtrack; I could easily recognize several small details and it blew my mind how accurate you were to the original song while putting your own unique spin on it.
I would be thrilled to eventually see your renditions of "Through Heaven's Eyes" and "The Plagues" from the Prince of Egypt, as well. Keep up the fantastic work!
he totally *delivered* 😉😉
this is the most chilling piece I have ever listened to. This song was very nostalgic for me because The Prince of Egypt was one of my favorite movies for the longest time when I was a kid. Having my favorite song from that movie arranged by the best one man choir on RUclips was amazing. Good luck with your next project but this one's very likely going to stay my favorite for a while!
Mhm
Your hair makes me think Samson is reenacting Exodus.
Also: OH MAN I’M GETTING CHILLS.
The opening hum, dear lord is the embodiment of male siren voice. Personally wouldn't mind drowning myself in the closest lake, to keep hearing it on loop 👌
That scream at 5:29 gave me chills! Your arrangement is amazing 👏
There's something almost Bohemian Rhapsody about this, and I love it
i thought that so! maybe the fact that this song is changing every time, like, telling a story?
I always loved the rendition of this song by Caleb Hyles and Jonathan Young because it was a metal cover and they did it really well. But holy cow. This... this is insanity. I think this beats Caleb and Jons version for me. Very very well done and a great rendition of an amazing song. Keep up the great work.
_5:45__ I think I can hear Caleb Hyles desperately clutching his wig in the diatance._
Caleb and Jonathan did it.
@@christiantaylorbordelon _Oh I know, that we the first song I ever heard from them._
I come back to listen to this frequently. You’re incredibly talented, Sam.
Man..... 2022.....Still can't find a Masterpiece like this one. It's definitely complicated, but it sound so harmonious, creative....wow.
id love to hear your take on some mulan songs, i bet you would have some fun with girl worth fighting for
Ofra Haza had the most beautiful voice! I was so sad to find out she died because of a bad blood transfusion. Such a wonderfully talented person taken way too soon.
Vinaluv I know. Her rendition of Jerusalem of Gold strikes me to this day.
She also sang deliver us in 18 different languages for the film! Ofra Haza had great talent and skill
Hang on guys I can’t see everything’s blurry-
Wait why is my face wet
This isn't an arrangement. It's a work. Flirting with Lydian mode, ridiculous range. Man. Serious props!
James
Chapter 1
1James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.
2My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
5If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
8A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
9Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
10But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
11For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
12Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
13Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
16Do not err, my beloved brethren.
17Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
18Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
19Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
20For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
21Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
22But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
26If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
27Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
Oh my god I got the goosebumps on my goosebumps! You should so do a cover of either Eric whitacre or jake runestead
I totally agree! Let My Love Be Heard, or When David Heard would be two phenomenal pieces!
Jack Kernan YAAAAAAS
Lux Aurumque or Water Night
Just got hit by a wave of nostalgia and childhood the size of the parting of Red Sea.

Nothing is by accident. I found this and also a Hebrew version. You are a blessing to all who hear your voice. I feel this the anthem of the day. May Hisham continue to bless you. I am so rich having heard this. Thank you.
