Question - my governor arm has NO play and when I get it going it is FULL throttle only. So my question is - does this show that the internal governor gear is broken ?
@@onlinesmallenginemechanics3999 Situation : XT650 - can start - but runs FULL OUT. ( Gonna throw a rod etc . . if left running full blast ) Bimetallic choke thing not working - but not seized and can manually with hand get that to turn - which opens carb flap - and lower rpm's - somewhat - BUT also governor lever basically seized into one position ( almost no "play" ) and won't move. SO - my guess is - governor gear inside broken ? ( What say you ? )
@@onlinesmallenginemechanics3999 nope not going to do that got it for free and so will strip it for parts and sell the parts on eBay and throw the rest away I was given two mowers from a neighbor who moved away both were free and the other one runs fine

Possibly, or the throttle plate and flap came undone off the carburetor. You can take off your carburetor and check

If the governor arm has no movement, I would take apart the engine
