Highway Expansion Joints
On September 10, 2021 UNIPRO started our contract to install 63 Expansion Joints on the southbound lanes of Interstate 5, south of Seattle.
We are proud to be part of preserving Washington’s busiest freeway through downtown Seattle. Interstate 5 travels 277 miles across the state of Washington.
This work is the first major repair work done on this section in more than 55 years. UNIPRO performed similar work on the northbound lanes in 2019.
Each expansion joint replacement takes an estimated 55 hours, and the project will require a total of 16 weekends to complete. We will complete this preservation work on the expansion joints in the fall 2022.
