What makes Precious such a powerful film is that it’s relatable. A lot of people can relate to Precious and her struggles. But to find people who care about you despite being so broken; that’s a powerful thing.

I think about how many houses and apartments all over the world that have something like this going. Families that live hidden lives, ignoring all the rules and norms of behavior that most people believe i n. They are like their own dystopian nation sates where all the laws and the culture is different. Andif you were born into that and know nothing else, it is pretty hard to break out of that.

" Kitten Hartford" I saw the movie. I did not tear up. It reminded me a lot of the people I had encountered or knew of in the neighborhood I lived in when I was a teenager. In a way, I can identify with certain characters or some of their situations. The movie contains a lot of scenes of the kind of New York City that used to exist in the 1970s and 1980s up to the 1990s. It is interesting how the scenes of people on the streets or in the subway, are not using cell phones.
If it was filmed in location a lot of the locations must have changed dramatically.

come from the interview with jordan lee peterson. might watch it.
i like dark social dramas, it is just amazing how people can turn their little world in absolute horror. and it is a daily reminder to struggle to get your shit clean.
