    Incorporate that rise into the Kitchen sink bar that would be awesome !! Love the bar I run 2 red shift kitchen sinks on 2 of my bikes and love the feel and position

    That looks cracking. I've often wondered about my bar height. Love the concept. 👍

      Tried it out , the bars felt great , no problem with numb hands , but I’ve had to move my seat back. I think it’s a game changer for us older riders.

    I love all the options of noodle bars these days. So many niches filled. I'm glad Redshift found another one

      Well then, I will make sure I wear it more! I tend to wear the latest thing in the collection. Need to circle back.

    I just picked up a Ritchey Corallitos bar and am excited to try it out. That bar has a crazy shallow drop

    • @oldguyandabike
      @oldguyandabike  6 месяцев назад +3

      Totally. For keeping yourself more upright while in the drops? Beauty!
      I think it is the most compelling bar Ritchey makes for conversions on MTBs, especially with the short reach added in. I am using one for the Drop Bar Conversion bike although if I do not have enough effective stack when I ride it, I will likely swap to the new Top Shelf bar from Redshift. We shall see. By the way, Drop Bar Conversion update video landing this Friday.

    Because the average head tube is designed for 20 something racers...

    Here is a theory, espoused by a wise industry person I know: "The majority of people riding a gravel bike have the bars too low", even taking into consideration the max spacers, etc. Well, here ya' go.

    I think it’s a good idea, particularly for someone that might have an older gravel bike with a low stack height. That would get you a much higher cockpit and wouldn’t really change the overall look of the bike. Or a turn a road bike into a more comfortable high speed cruiser 👍

    Just buy a Surly Truck stop, twinned with a higher rise stem. Truck Stop gives you 30 mm plus whatever more your stem adds. Much nicer look and finish, plus its half the price!

      What about the reach? This bar is available with as short as 60mm reach to bring you more upright and back then most bars. At least for me that’s an advantage I see with this Redshift bar

    • @geoleo2597
      @geoleo2597 5 месяцев назад +2

      @@aAnd67 stem and bar rise also affects reach. With the head angle and rise, reach is shortened bringing the bars closer to the rider.

      @@geoleo2597 agreed, but not really why you'd buy a riser drop bar. I can see what you mean, as a higher bar reduces the angle of your back, but it's not bringing your bars closer!?!? You're sitting more upright. Horses for courses

      Oh, that is interesting. I have an FSA AGX carbon bar that is like that but a bit less dramatic in 'slope'. I do feel that this design is very good for the wrists though. I actually filmed the AGX bar as an moderate 'alt' example, but that ended up on the 'cutting room floor'.

    Love the alt bars this company produces, still waiting on their take on the corner bar though, would love to chop and change my hardtail without having to change controls too 🥸🙏
