  • In this fly tying tutorial, Cheech ties the Zebra Midge. The great things about a zebra midge are that it is among the easiest flies to tie, and it can easily be modified to be tied in a wide range or colors and variations. I think black is the most common color but I fish a lot of brown, olive, and red too. Here's the video, but make sure to check out some of our alternate recipes below.

Would you recommend throwing on a tiny bit of red ice dubbing instead of the black. I know you said be creative. I mean heck I’ve seen zebra midges in turquoise so why not !?

Hello I’m just want to know where I can buy that bead rig you are using to get the bead on the hook. It is a very handy tool for me as I hardly have no feeling in the top of my fingers. Can you advise me where to buy. much appreciate it. Have a nice day.

I noticed you using different nymphing hooks for different flies. i.e. a Tiemco 2457 for the Rainbow Warrior and a Daiichi 1120 for this fly. Can you make a video or explain the reasoning? Or is there a real reason other than marketing? :P

A P sometimes we have a supply of the 1120, and other times we have the 2457. Sometimes you have to list both to let people know that either will work. They are almost an identical hook and we use both.
