Funny timing with this video! I found a box of #32 Tiemco 518's laying around yesterday, and I was tying some bunny midges on them. Great video though. Those tips will definitely help with tying these up in the future.
fantastic, nice to see someone else tying flies this small. I have some 32's I think they are tiemco 518. Not sure but think so. I use a 14/0 thread so I can take a few extra turns. looking for a good midge hook removal tool. Haven't seen one in a while. Sean
+Sean Mooney If your thread is gordon griffith's sheer 14/0, it's the exact same diameter at Uni 8/0. Veevus 14/0 is the same size too. Regarding a midge removal tool, the best one is just tying with a barbless hook, or debarbing your fly before fishing it. That way it slips out with your fingers.
no it's veevus 14/0. It is the thinnest I have. If it is the same diameter I couldn't tell it by tying with it. Thanks for the information though. Sean

Apply Payette paste and then powder desiccant on polypropylene. The desiccant will adhere to the polypropylene keep the fly floating for a long time
Thanks for this. I still have a few of those #30 's left, I think some #32 as well. I use nylon sewing thread as a tippet fit this fly.
