If you made it with your hands, and it's okay with you, I'd like to show your work and shout you out in a video too.
i feel sad snagging and losing a $10 lure.... at $440 i think i will put that lure in a fish tank
for 440 dollars im goin swimming for that lure even if crocodiles are in there ill punch those mofos in the nose to get that lure lol
Shane Richard hahaha My brother reeled in a croc and was trying to get it on the boat to get his $5 lure back hahahahaha
thats awesome id shit my pants if i seen a croc
@@rangrybillymaddin2459 Ok if it is a croc I would say just take the $10 lure thank you very much
@@shanerichard236 haha yea man i think i would too
Absolutely great video. As an old (77) retiree and a long time fisherman and woodworker, I am going to make a couple of these. Swims great, great action. I'm sure one of our large stripers will eat this. Glad to see you made a understandable video and you had your act together in making the video - too many people just plop down and start rambling - yours was sequential and good.
Just now seeing this!!!! Looks sooo good in the water!!!
Wow......Just WOW amazing work...Watched although till the end with a glare of Amazement in my eye
I really love the finishes on all your baits, but for me, this was the "Ferrari" of swimbaits!!!
I'm so happy I "lucked" upon this channel!! What a find!! I love fishing, I love watching videos of people plying their craft, I love your dog and having a girlfriend who is into fishing is awesome! I'm going to be the first one in line when you start selling those square bill, flat baits.
Can't believe you throw your masterpieces into the water with thin mono. Haha, great vid.s, thanks.
Bring that lure up to central Minnesota where I'm from. Big Muskie or Northern would hammer it. :)
Never seen one use dthat big in my life
The action is really really realistic on this one
Absolutely amazing content and sick bait
I truly enjoyed viewing your craftsmanship!!
Congrats on this video making it onto the mystery tackle box website. Maybe one day your lures will be a part of the boxes 👍🏻
Next week on Marling baits, carving a "cease and desist" letter bait. LOL
I tripped onto your videos...and now I have a list of baits I want to make for family and friends....You are a wonderful and creative PLAGUE in my head! lol You ask for suggestions...we came up with a NAUTILUS. I think it would be amazing to see! Hard and soft squiggly wiggly goodness.... Can you build it? Well...I know you can! :D Awesome and inspirational videos!! I love them! :D
The Japanese bait uses clear poplar with no tiny knots in the blank easily making it cost hundreds more! ;-) On a more serious note, I'm sure they use a small V veining chisel to groove the bait which makes it look so consistent.
The cuts to you saying thick are making this video great.
That bait looks soooooo sick.
This dude is literally an artist I love these videos
"Literally" 😒
@@jamie.777 literally
@@jamie.777 literally literally
He worked so hard making that bait, that would suck so bad if he casted it a the bait came off 😂
I think ive found a new hobby, this is awesome.
Thick hahahahahha This has quickly become my favorite channel on RUclips. Discovering this channel is one of the rare upsides of Covid.
Anytime I buy an expensive lure or have a new favorite, never fails I always turn into the world's most horrible aim, and snag the one log in the bottom of lake that I'm trying to avoid, and then a gator pops his head up 5ft away or something so I can't go in and get it... I never lose my $3.99 crank basis.
Im a tyler childers fan myself. Nice vid n nice plug!
Dude I'll pay anything for just one of you crazy baits I just now start watching your channel I want a turtle lure lol your great at lure making bro
Great job! looks sweet mate
Really great job
Today I started making this lure how you did it in your video. I want to give it my little brother as a birthday present. I hope he will be happy☺
I really enjoy watching your videos does anybody ever tell you that you're like Jim from the office
I been binge watching you videos and is there a reason why you cut the tail fin off when shaping it
Are you willing to make a DT that size for decorating make it look as good as a real one would be. If so how much
It looks to good to use.
Make a lure out of baking soda and super glue one day
think you need try this bait either in ocean or great lakes where the really big fish are
Go North to the Chippewas flowage with that hummer.
what type of wood do you reckon to build a swimbait?
can i have that tail fin mould when you're done giggity
What kind of wire do you use for the hook hangers and joint connection?
i love ur vids soooo much and i wish i could do stuff like u but i cant but im known as ( my dad and step dad call me) the fishing charm because if im not there no one would catch a fish ( not including minnows)
I’m actually in the process of making my own Roman Made Mother, can you tell me the measurements of where you cut the joint in relation to the body.. like how do I know where to cut the angles along the body?
enjoy watching your videos you should definetly start selling your own lures hope it would make you lots of money and help create more content i would 100% buy one of your lures
it swims like a dream
what type of wood do you use the most often?
If you don't mind.... why are you using an open faced ocean fishing reel in fresh water?
The old Mac Daddy skirted lure was more expensive; 24kt gold with rubies and diamonds encrusted all over it, it cost about a million bucks. And yes they ran it behind the boat for a Marlin once! Not sure what happened to it....
I've seen Hinkles go for over a grand!!
I don't fish...don't have the patience for it but I really enjoyed the video.
Can you make a crawfish that has that tail swim action?
That's a nice bait
I would like to see a goldfish lure
Theres an exact video of them hand making them from the factory online
I hear you listening to Tyler Childers. My guy!
I’ve never seen someone use tracing paper like that
Should have used crushed ramen and super glue to patch that mistake up
Make the wire joints oval on hardware squeez with plier or hammer loop into shape....U get WAY MORE resistance son.
At 21:50 you were listening to my favorite song White House road be tyler Childress
What do you use as your sealer brother?
Why 22 degrees for the cut section?
I hear some Tyler Childers playing in the background I think it was his songs Purgatory and Whitehouse Road lmao I respect it
Maybe the smell of the paint stood out in the water?
You ever put googley eyes on a crank bait?
is there a video where you get a fish?
would you take orders for this bait to made?
looks like 500 dollars of skill work
Marling baits Tyler Childers fan!
Chances are the actual maker of the lure never saw close to $440 USD. It was likely hand crafted by someone very skillful nonetheless and because some of us here in the west understand the great level of craftsmanship coming from Japan, sellers here jack up the price to cash in those gullible enough to pay such an outrageous price.
i'd like to cook and eat those lure it would taste better than a real fish😂😂
There's no reason any bait should be this much absolutely no reason
I’m willing to pay money for one of these do you have ig? I’d like to buy one
So what do you value yours at?
I bought the lure for 430 and first cast i snaged a goose
ninja woods 😂😂😂😂😂
Lmao, did you steal the tail from this bait and use it on the bluegill swimbait last week?
My luck I would snag it on the first cast on a stump and snap my line.
TIN MAN for 440 bucks you take your clothes off and you go swimming are you serious
^^^^damn straight lol
@@toddfongemie9441 good lord do people really pay that for a lure.
Lol i swim for even the chealest ones.
Yesterday i dug around the brambles for my favorite spiner but i could not find it🙁
@@toddfongemie9441 for $440 I download a picture then go to Wal-Mart and buy a rapala.
They are made from recycled Ferrari engines
your kidding right
@@tuckrex2038 no they actually are.
@@cwatson42785 no they aren't. Their made from NEW Ferrari engines.... that's why they have 4 year 40,000 mile warranties.
DO NOT pay them for undercoat. Its already there.
They do it at the factory.
@don cherry Yeah but they have to be done by an authorized Ferrari dealer and they are prohibitively expensive. That's why you need to make sure you get all the service records with a used one because the only thing more costly than servicing one is repairing it because you didn't.
ramesh anand lmao. Wrong. Country. They're Nissan GTR parts.
If they put in the same amount of effort in the bait as you did, I'd say the price is about right. =)
They do, they're all hand carved, then hand made & painted & tested. By 2-8 artisans for the whole world population
@@scottiedunnavan3834 i think i found my new hobby. Does it have to be wood, i'm wondering if you only need to make the one and then make a silicone mold of it, and then get the right resin. I know fuck all about lures, but I like science.
@@scottiedunnavan3834 so are alot of the 60$ baits...soooooo

This is by far the coolest thing on RUclips I've seen in a long time! Amazing craftsmanship. As a full-time fisherman and tackle tinkerer, I have so much respect.
For real!
Milliken Fishing wassup. I love your channel and have watched both of these channels for a while
Kind of cool that Ben watches this channel. Ben's and awesome dude. I hope his fingers and toes get the feeling back in them soon. For those who don't know, he fell the water ice fishing last week and was n the water for like 20 minutes. Crazy, right?
you should fish his bait
Milliken Fishing bin
Channels like these are the reason RUclips is still alive
@Bob it's been dying because of their over political stunts latley
@Bob that's because everyone is watching the channels that criticize RUclips and their leftist ways.
@Bob I meant the old RUclips is dying. It has just done an almost complete 180 from what it used to be
Let's appreciate this man's work... Go spew somewhere else.
Bob RUclips has been dead for years... this monolithic beast of which you speak is an impostor; a villain in a mask.
I'd bee using rope for fishing line at 440.00
or steel cable
David Cilny just a chain of steel musky leaders
@@jasonbourne5200 in hungary we are always using steel leaders bc there are a lot of pikes and they cut off your line easy

So I don't know what everyone else will think, but I think you should make the lure that spongebob uses for decoration in his living room. You could maybe even do the coffee table lure he has too.
Definitely do that.
Yasssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
YES!
Nice job 👌. Muito bom in portuguese 😉
Yessss!!!!!
I felt that when he slipped with the drill
Baking soda and super glue? Learn something new everyday
I'ts a life saver
You can also use that to repair plastic where you’ve lost a chip out of it.
This is a trick military guys used on helicopter rotors back in the day, whenever there was a chip in the rotor they would lay super glue and baking soda down. It dries a lot harder and almost immediately.
we have a company in germany selling this now... its hilarious, they take 30$ for a small bottle of ca glue and a small bottle of baking soda. i use this since almost 20 years (grandpa told me).
Fine Sawdust works too. Great tip!
THICK
I'd be too scared to fish with a 440 dollar lure. Jesus.
IKR. My reel cost less than that! Insane, dude!
Any expensive freshwater lure I buy seems to get lost almost immediately.
@@bigpickles I'm fishing with a $20 reel.

You forgot to add that the hooks are tempered by running them through three servants.

some how you did it, I watched the whole 39:16 minutes...

For $500 it better be un-loosable and put bald eagle omelettes and whale bacon on the table.

NICE!!!!!!
lol
I heartlly agreee, and I'd add a side of Paddle Fish caviar with toast.
Nice lure, but ya need a underwater camera and film the action of these baits your making, would be really cool.
We wait for patreon
First video of yours I've watched. Wonderful footage and editing, along with your quirky style of deadpan delivery, made for a very enjoyable watch. Subscribed.
You may not have caught any fish, but you sure as hell caught the attention of all your fans! Exceptional work, you are the Master Worker, well done 👍
If I had to put that much time and effort into making a lure like that, then I would want more than 400 for it. Seems fair.
Looks amazing you are talented no doubt
Make The Same Bait...But Smaller I Bet It Would Catch A Ton Of fish.....
kole 505 Am it’s the Roman made negotiater it’s already made
Found it...Thanks for The Heads Up
Negotiater.
I whittled a top water "plug" out of a tree branch...my bro bet me I couldn't catch a fish with a bait I made myself.
First cast...a seagull swooped down and grabbed it (didn't get hooked though), dropped it...one twitch and a 4.5lb bass nailed it!
Then I made another lure out of one of my little bros old GI Joe figures...caught some more bass.
My biggest fish (23lb pike) was caught on a 10" strip of inner tube.
Very nice work BTW!
Fermis crazy s*** dude please tell me more about the Pike tube
It was just a strip, cut from an old inner tube...shaped roughly like a leach. I rigged and fished it like you would a rubber worm(without a weight, just a steel leader).
That pike was the only fish I caught with it. I saw numerous others (lg & sml mouth bass, and other pike) follow it, but only the one took it.
Next time go to the pet store get a mouse and tie a line and hook to it and see what lunker you catch
I love fishermen stories. They are always so laughably unrealistic. But to be fair, I have caught bass on willow leaves on a simple hook and sinker when they wouldn't hit anything else.
Here's a little fish story for ya, Pat.
My older bro...not really a fisherman...was home, on leave, for a week. "Do you think it's possible, for me to catch 50 bass while I'm here"? he asked.
I said, "for you?...no!...but there is a way I can make that happen for you!...give me an hour".
I went back to my house (I'm just a block back from my parents and the lake). I used the old netting from around a trampoline (I had it stashed in the garage) and made a minnow seine.
It was early summer and there were plenty of hatchlings swimming around. 3 passes with the seine, we had over 100 largemouth bass, along with a few smallmouth, bluegill, rock bass and various minnows. He was less than thrilled with his 50+ bass.
I here that Tyler Childers marling
That’s lit
Hell yeah man
Bro whatever hits that will break your arm doing so.
Hey Marling, just wanted you to know I appreciate you making these videos. They’re honestly really therapeutic and I always look forward to the next one. You do a really great job man.
Awesome thank you 😁

You’re the best master baiter I know.
I’m sorry y’all, I’ll show myself out.
as an engineer, the thing i enjoyed most is that u didnt have to use any fancy equipment, you kept it straight and simple, you didnt go off topic, and you took your time to perfect a master piece! and made it so that any one could go to home depot and grab a few things to make a lure, you should make a video on using a hot glue gun, glitter, and popsiscle sticks, caulk, and other junk someone might find laying around the house?
@marling baits - Watching this video 18 months after it was originally recorded, I'm really curious if you ever ended up catching anything with it?
