- Explosions emit from a building fire in Leamington Spa. Multiple fire trucks were filmed responding with siren, air horn and lights in Warwickshire, UK.
At approximately 10:30 on August 27, 2021, emergency services responded to a fire at Leeson Polyurethanes Ltd on Hermes Close in the Tachbrook Park area of Leamington Spa. Homes were evacuated and one person is still unaccounted for 2 weeks later as of September 9.
The fire caused a number of explosions and lead to a 100 metre cordon being put in place by Warwickshire Police as they provided assistance to Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Service. A number of other agencies also assisted.
A press briefing by Superintendent Mike Smith of Warwickshire Police, and Assistant Chief Fire Officer Barnaby Briggs, took place at 17:50. You can see that briefing at 28:37 in the video.

Great video, I hope the person who is missing is ok. Interesting to see so many different fire brigades at this incident.
SO 🍛
Well since we’re such a small little town we needed brigades from kenilworth Coventry and Birmingham just for this
Unfortunately his remains were found almost a month later when officials were allowed access to the site to conduct searches, his name was David Boswell.
Awesome catches mate!
Aussie siren at 7:47!
Great filming, it's a shame about the person unaccounted for.
Thank you. It is, we're all hoping foe the best outcome.
@@CobraEmergency Let's pray there ok
I’m reading different stories regarding the missing person, on 1 page someone claimed to know/work with him and apparently he’s safe and well, however other pages state he’s still missing
@@truckerdoug1512 I hope they are safe and well
SO 👕
Our home town. A day of tragedy, worry and upset but also of recognition of the amazing work done by so, so many people from every service, background and demographic
I never knew about this incident until I saw this. Glad I watched it until the end. Thanks for the details and for the upload!
2:35 - interesting how only rear reds were activated at the back. Great content as always mate.
Probably a fault that the crew were not aware of, Blues should be flashing whilst driving and much much brighter than that. The Reds are activated by the handbrake being applied, there isn't a switch in the Cab.
can not wait to watch all of it !
Nice catch great job explaining all the various details 👍
Thank you, hopefully you found it insightful!
I just dont know what to say. I was more concerned about the fire itself, the smoke, and from the press briefing, the missing person. If he/she is unaccounted for, you know what that means, i hope i am wrong. These guys put their lives on the line every single day, god bless them. Always tell your loved ones you love them, because you never know what can happen in this world.
Wow! And great video I love the vlog style kinda thing with your updates and very clearly spoken and I can understand you! :D
Some really great catches so far ! Amazing video
Thank you
Yeah....some technologies I haven't seen.....
Awesome footage and commentary keep the good work up
Great footage
Great video steve!
Awesome video!!
This makes me think of TBA Incorporated based in Louisville, Kentucky because the warehouse caught fire at 4:30 pm on August 12, 1994 which happens to have been a Saturday, the fire lasted into early Sunday morning and there were multiple fire departments and Emergency Medical Service Personnel on the scene and at various locations throughout, I will say this, if a fire ever breaks out that was as bad as the 1 I’m talking about it will be really bad.
Cannot believe it’s 2 years since this fire at my home town. Was at work and seen the WNAA flying passed and seen which direction it went and saw the smoke. I was shocked and well I wouldn’t sware on this. Feel sorry for the gentleman who lost his life after the clear up who was missing. Well done to all involved in Warwickshire police West Midlands ambulance service and especially both Warwickshire and all those who came to aid in all corners of counties of the fire department.
Superb footages mate 🧑🏻👍🏻🔥👩🏻🚒👨🏻🚒🚒
Great video. Good to see a smart police and fire officer briefing too, ‘Dress matters’!
Great footage 👏
Unbelievable amount of fire crews and equipment sent to deal with it. Really good footage! 😀👍
That was a lot. Thank you for watching!
Amazing catches mate! Love the vehicle at 1:32 , would that be a station officer?
Station commander I think
@@rhysrobertstransportationa1668 ok thanks!
I was there it was rlly scary but thanks to the emergency services it's out now, there was also a series of explosions 👍
When you can see your friends house in the video and saw the entire fire lol
That was amazing video
One of the best videos I have ever see your work outstanding content absolutely brilliant yery yery good top Mark's well done5 stars loved it
Love the Northamptonshire Aerial rescue ladder, beast of a vehicle!
It is being replaced soon with a 42m TTL
@@CDB8939 Yes, ive seen some pics of it, looks really smart👍
Wow. this fire will go down in history for Leamington 😢 praying for the best outcome for the missing person, although hate to it does not look good at this stage..
All emergency services were great yesterday. Pumping water from the Canal was a clever move too!
They commonly do on incidents like this
@@staffsemergresp first ever massive fire i have witnessed to be honest. I live about 10 minute walk away from the fire.
@@shellye9841 Make sure you stay safe! They have different procedures for these types of situations depending on the risk
For anyone wondering, the missing guy’s remains were found 6 weeks after the incident.. I watched half of this then had to Google it..
Great Videos of Fire Response Vehicles.
Keep them Coming Police chases also please.
Weird. I don't remember this happening. I do remember a large warehouse fire at Sywell Aerodrome in 2019
I’m actually surprised H&W only sent 287 as our areas in quite close proximity with Warks and could see the fire from Redditch
There may have been pumps on scene that we didn't see. Oxfordshire were there but we didn't see them!
I was driving from Andover to Leicester and saw it from the motorway (M40 I think). You could tell it was a big one from that far away.
Oh yes it was huge, we could see it from the M40 too!
Lol at the closed fire 🔥 station just a few hundred yards away from the fire
Well made documentary.
Are you sure your not the one starting the fires, you always know where they are and when to film 😂

Me: Is that a CARP I see
Text: confirms it
Me: *happy emergency vehicle spotter noises*
*happy emergency vehicle spotter provider noises*
Wanna see more CARPs? I've got more. Lots more. 👀😍
I was in Shrewsbury when this happened
Ok, I see water carriers and a fuel bowser. Not seeing the Soup Dragon rocking up tho!
Soup dragon?
Does the Soup Dragon consume anything other than soup?
@@amorgan5427 Lol. The mobile catering van.
Молодцы! Оперативно сработали! Надеюсь никто не погиб
That's some serious turn out, I'm guessing from other counties too
Yeah Hereford and Worcester sent the Water Tanker and West Midlands Fire Service for the Birmingham, Coventry and Black Country Area sent multiple to help there Warwickshire Colleuges
Can we have some appreciation for the red car at 4:55 who blocks the roundabout so the blue car can enter it and be out of the way of the fire engine🙌
That's crazy
I caught the livestream, seem some drone footage, what a mess
Where in the West Midlands did the Fire Engines come from was it all over so ie units from like Walsall, Bloxwich, Wolverhampton and so on or was it more Birmingham and Coventry
I’m leaning towards it was all over. Probably not Birmingham, but I could be wrong.
its a shame the two tones have gone
At least the driver doesn’t suffer choice paralysis and you can tell its the fire brigade
Did you find out how many pumps it was made up to?
A run down would be great, if you could. I'm a bit of a nerd with pump attendances 🙂
I've contacted Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Service and I'm awaiting reply / looking out for a press release!
12 and specials according to the Warks CFO 🙂
same lol
Do you have some sort of "network" of, what we call in the States, fire buffs who communicate around the country to notify each other when you see breaking incidents such as this significant fire? I couldn't imagine being unable to hear the fire departments here in the US, and I can't imagine the frustration there. Some insight would be welcomed. Thanks.
There's been a 'moving up' system since medieval times. mutual help isn't a new principle!
@@tonytyrer9340 Is your reply to my question?
@@Gracebeliever077 no
A little bit. There's a Facebook group for posting fires called UK Incident Alerts. Most use social media such as Twitter to keep an eye on things. Most of the time we just don't know what's going on! No scanners, no PulsePoint aha.
Is the missing person been found if not I hope he or she is ok when we do
Hey Cobra,I catched I video of an IOW ambulance respond and I uploaded it can you look at it?
Should the industrial units be very close to houses in case off fire or accidents
so true, incredibly close to a hole row of houses.could have been a terrible disaster with many many deaths
Thats the problem with zoning
My autistic cousin and I really love me this
I’ve been to this area countless times (not leesons) but another unit in the vicinity. Bad job to be honest
What caused the fire
Do you get a press pass/armband when you go to jobs like this?
W we hen did the UK stop useing duel tone horns.
They started to phase out two tones and phase in yelp and wail sirens about the mid 1990s . I worked on F Registration Ford Transit Ambulances ( with bodies by Mountain Range ) at around that time and these had both sirens and old fashioned air horns . I often used both at the same time as I was young and keen , much to the annoyance of some of my older colleagues ! Ambulances a year older ( E Reg ) and before had two tones mostly .
6 months ago?!?!?!!!
6 months ago?!?!?!!!
Why do the uk fire services over use their sirens ?
was the any xexplotions?
4th alarm fire?
No such thing I the UK.
Generally outside of the initial PDA (Predetermined Attendance) the incident commander will just request what they need when & where they need it.
How many pumps were in attendance?
I think it was 20? I could be wrong. Might’ve been 15 but i’m leaning towards 20.

Would've been even better if the tanker had a whelen woodway commander 3 siren and using yelp and hi-lo only to move away any vehicles out of the way and warn pedestrians
For a small Land rover, the vehicle should be either equipped with sterling automotive met-sound siren or a haztec siren like the met police Jankels used
For my fictional fire station based outside London, the fire vehicles would only use whelen woodway commander 3, haztec, sterling automotive met-sound and the smaller fire chef cars using redtronic EM5000 sirens since they're my favourite sirens and the only ones that sound the best
No air-compressed two-toned sirens allowed either
The fictonal fire station ahould be called either "werley fire station" or "Berlington fire station" and based around a fictional small city part outside of London located near "sun hill police station"
The main fire vehicles would consist of brands like Dennis, Carmichael, Leyland, Mercedes MK1, Renault Midliner and Volvo FL6, the smaller vehicles would be Volkswagen, Ford, Mercedes, Volvo and land Rover
And there would be no "Mobilise" either during a fire call, only the trumpets playing
To that was near my house
They like to make an entry
I’m sorry did I just see a fire bus at 9:08 or 9:09
29:40 what about all the hero paramedics to you absolute nougat
Not good
Do we know who would help the Scottish fire and rescue if they had a Major incident like this?
qqqqq🐊
It is a massive service as you know and a result of the merger of thee previous 8 services so I guess they are pretty self sufficient , but if it was near the English border I would think Cumbria and Northumberland would help . I know Strathclyde and Cumbria assisted Dumfries and Galloway at Lockerbie .
In the UK when a major fire incident is declared, the Fire Service are in charge and they will coordinate/call in the equipment required. Depending on the incident, a remote command centre will be established (Gold & Silver Command) - normally (within 30 mins) if person/or persons are declared missing then, the Police take control of the incident (treated as a potential crime scene).
I thought cobra stood for cabinet office briefing room a, and not a load of fire engines.
A Cobra fire engine is one that uses a high pressure lance to spray a water spray through a hole in the wall .
Hvp count-6
Me lugholes hurt
What was that white van, with flashing fairy lights round the vanity mirror, towing the Trumptonesque red (water?) tank?
Refuelling bowser, to keep the tenders topped up.
@@ModshackMerlin Thanks, that makes sense. It looked a bit inadequate as a water bowser🙂
Where was the fire helicopter when it was needed?
I dont think we have any in the UK , unless you meant the one flown by the Aussie in Fireman Sam !
What Police tatw@t, even running the fire service, I will happily take questions....Super Intendant, are you a common puropse graduate.,,,,You are a common purpose graduate, aren't you.
I like it because is bigger

They are very good Cars
Skoda had a bad name back in the day when they were Czech made tin cans , but modern Skodas are pretty good , at least as Ambulance Service RRVs / FRVs . The Russian equivalent of Skodas were Ladas , if you remember them !
