Here comes Mr. Belmont, a disgruntled neighbor, coming to disrupt The Monster Mash, a celebration that happens every 100years... or is it 10, no one knows anymore. Hosted by yours truly, your friendly neighbor, the ultimate party dude himself, Dracula.
This is actually a game made for the Sharp X68000. It was ported to the PS1 with some extras thrown in to make it more valuable. This (Roland SC-55, which you may be familiar with because Windows uses it as the default soundfont) is one of three sound modules for the original game. The others are the Roland CM-64 and the Yamaha YM2151 (not explicitly mentioned as such, but it's what the Sharp X68000 _actually_ sported).
Ah hell yes! Castlevania is one of the greats. I grew up in the 90s so it was NEW and scary and freaking hard haha. My dad and I put time into this series and those are great memories
2:55 The music cuts out, and the Belmont family is genre-savvy enough to know a boss fight is on the way. He sprinkles a lil' bit of white fungus on the bat and lets nature take its course.
Altrogh I prefer the original X68000 sound and intro, this is a good one. The graphics look very similar to SCIV, but honestly, I miss the 8-directional whip. Four different great titles on four 16bit systems - Konami managed it with Castlevania!
I would have like this game a lot better if Simon Belmont wasn't walking like he had a bad burrito last night, and found out today that he's out of TP.
Depends of the version of the game. Original X68000? Connect a midi device to the PC. Japanese PSX? It opens automatically on original mode. Early international PSX? Same as above. Late international PSX? Hold L1+R1 when selecting original mode.
That's a sad way to think. Most of the games in the series are great. You're really missing out on this one. It is really challenging, but once you get used to it it's much better IMO
Never played this one. Game looks really meh and has some bizarre sound design. I was under the impression that it was a straight port of the original with updated graphics but it's an entirely new game. It looks like a concept design of Super Castlevania IV, which would make a bit of sense since the Sharp X68000 came out a few years before the SNES but this game originally came out two years after SCIV, at the very end of the X68000's lifetime. In the game's defense, sound quality of the PSX port seems to have been lowered from the original version; that or it's an emulation problem.
Man don't worry, this game is wonderful and one of the best on the entire franchise Edit If you not playing the arranged mode for ps1, this is hard, fucking hard
Man... I know it's one of the early castlevania games but this just looks soooo boring.. The only good castlevania games are aria of sorrow and dawn of sorrow bc they broke up the monotony of the games.. I'd play the first super mario any day, but never would i play the first castlevania, rather pull up a deck of cards..
There's something empowering about a man
that casually walks all the way to Dracula's doorstep.

Dracula is gonna run out of precipitous, waterfront-facing peaks for his OSHA-violating castles to fall off of at this rate
The Stride.
7:22
Dracula: Let's make the statues shoot arrows.
*Simon walks right past them*
Dracula: Hey you're not supposed to just walk past them.
Love the old school Playstation sound and visual. MISS that :P

Poor Frankenstein's monster, he just wanted to learn some sick whip tricks from Simon.
Unfortunate he needed to hold in that poop that whole time.

Castlevania Chronicles is the Sonic Mania before Sonic Mania

With how many times this game has kicked my butt, it's AWESOME to see it get torn through like this! Thanks for sharing!
Medusa stood no chance at all. In the Japanese version, Medusa has shorter invincibility frames each hits.
Ooooooooh that ps1 start up! I need to change.

Perhaps the only complain is that he didn't use the epic arranged music by Sota Fujimori, but despite that. was a quite awesome TAS.
8:36 lol Nosferatu!!!
When I was a kid, I had a boomerang that had whistles on the tips of the blades. I guess Simon put farts on his.
I'm surprised it defaults to SC-88 over YM2151
25:27 "What is a man?"
Wait, wrong CastleVania.
11:39
Medusa : Ahahahahahaha !!
Simon : *grin*
I love how most tas looks so crazy but this game is so hard a tas looks intentional.
Great classic...😃
super stylish
My girlfriend and I used to stay up late playing this game until our parents told us to go to bed.
This version is ported from the Sharp X68000 1987 Japanese PC
Turn up volume to max is party time *plays stage 1 song started dance*
In 26:01 actually.
I would have like this game a lot better if Simon Belmont wasn't walking like he had a bad burrito last night, and found out today that he's out of TP.
the music sounds very different to what my game has, it sounds like chip tune
That’s what pizza delivery was like in 14th century.
basically "Haunted Castle" Arcade
Actually its Castlevania from X68000. But yeah, it plays very similar
And lives!
In HC, death was equal to a Game Over, and you could only continue 3 extra times. After that, it was back to the title screen.
Wait... How did you open the SC-55 sound?? (sorry for my grammar:(()

I’ve never seen this Castlevania before only heard of it and I’m glad that’s all i’ve done with this game. Super Castlevania IV for life.
A real CV fan appreciates every game in the series. That said, SCV4 is much, much easier than Akumajo X68000

23:48 ? 🤔
What is a TAS? A miserable little pile of instructions!
7:52 idk man but mud women so damn thicc
Ver. X68000
That move. I am gonna try this next time i attend a dance party😂
how did you skip the ps logo?
I absolutely hated the music redux on this one.
looks like super nes
I AM the second one in the video
Score 469295
Too easy in comparasion with NES version
everything about this game is a crawl
Except the music
Looks like a PS1 game.
It's a port of a PC game

GAY
Gay? Are you ten? 😂 This is a great classic. Period.
@@brycestrife5605 I'm not ten, I'm eleven :]
lmao typical children
@@MushySR
Dont worry, in 20 years or so some other snotty brat will come and call his games gay xD
Sounds like you're insecure about your inner homosexuality, friend
