Wow the bone pillars appear to shoot significantly slower in the Famicom version. The stage 9 stair section looked so tame compared to when I beat it last night. It’s so cool watching a TAS take on a game like this! The intentional hits, superhuman timing on everything (especially Sypha freezing enemies and projectiles for platforms), and taking bosses out in a split second. It also seemed like Dracula’s final form could’ve been done a little faster if the TAS had just collected a couple extra hearts. Probably even just the big heart right before the boss area. Regardless, awesome video.
Children: Gramma, tell us how you beat Dracula again! Sypha: Well... [smiles grabbing cane and immediately starts swinging it about and chasing laughing children about the room]
@@ivanr4300 totally, it's not all full of buzz channels, love the vrc6 chip, the American reworked soundtrack has better compositions that even though there's two channels missing, comes across as more musical to me. In fact I've made myself a CD of the American soundtrack to take on car rides, off of original hardware and it's awesome to listen to. If you have the game or ROM loaded and want to listen just to the soundtrack press the a&b buttons while pressing start at the title screen and the game goes into sound track mode, works on both the am and Japanese version.
I have never played a castlevania game before, and probably never will again, because i suck at these kind of games, and im legit only playing this one because sypha is my favorite character in the show.
Rondo of Blood has Maria, who makes the game very easy. Also, Symphony of the Night and its sequels have a different gameplay style which is more beginner friendly.
The skip near the beginning on the level with Death as the boss I've never seen. I have seen some of the skips when Funkdoc did a run at SGDQ or AGDQ. I was wondering how viable the critical hit strats are in real time?
Wow. Amazing, just one question... How can you Insta-Kill Bosses like that? Is it done the same way as in the Castlevania 1? The Critical Hit? Hitting the enemy in the same frame that he hits you... Is that it? And btw, I know that is a TAS and how it works.

This game is mediocre but the VRC6 music and background art are outstanding. Yes it's not scary at all but it's enjoyable. No parallax scrolling is a shame though.
That VRC6 audio just pops...🤯

God the music with in Japanese version with extra sound chip is spectacular. All of us in the US sorely missed out.

His grip looks hella awkward too 😂😂
I love the Famicom version. It has the most rich music thanks to the extra sound chip in the cartridge.
That chip was the Vrc 6 from Konami. This was removed from the American version and was made more difficult.
Ri.. right. Shits dope
Worth watching just to hear the music, which is the second-best in all the NES/Famicom library. (#1 is Solstice.)

Wow, awesome sounding music!! It is different than the version my brothers & i played.
The Famicom version had an additional onboard sound chip that allowed for additional audio channels compared to the NES version.
I hope that Konami can make a game with Sypha as a main character. Love her so much .
