Love your Commentary and Professional Aviation experience you bring...I just Bought my first (N710GG) in Sept coming back after 25 years of life, otherwise---Im so glad to get back in the Blue area!!
As a new Meridian pilot, content like this is fantastic. Thank you very much for putting videos like this together, sharing, and tuning out negative feedback. Like the majority of appreciative views, I never post comments, but please continue uploading if your time allows. A growing knowledge base only makes the pilot community safer.
I love the videos that pilots take the time to make and share. I don't understand the many finger pointers as they sit in their know it all chairs. Interesting that they never post videos of their flights. Unfortunately it seems that you need to have a fairly thick skin to share your experience, despite the fact that you post a disclaimer. Thanks for posting. Keep it up.
Thank you for your time in setting up the views to seeing what you are doing as well as communication with ATC in a professional way and you all have a great time and flying to Seattle
Just started watching your videos and I think they are great. You do explain things a lot but I don’t find it obnoxious at all, keep up the great work!!!! As far as the “Yaw Damper” issue, in aviation if it is a mechanical device it is a “ dampener” like an APU Starter Dampener, but since Yaw Damper is an electrical device with servos and such, it is called a Yaw Damper. It is commonly mispronounced so you are in good company.
Just a super job handling this "emergency" situation. Having the family abroad only added to the stress for you, I'm sure. But you handled it so well, as good as any pro pilot, aviate first, no rushing required, follow the procedure, and you turned it into a "non event". Well done.
3:46: Yaw DAMPENER? Always thought it was a Yaw DAMPER !! LOL. Great video, Great teamwork and a happy resolution to the emergency. Looking forward to the next video explaining what the issue was.....
@@onetaco772 I chuckle when I hear you say that.....Sometimes habits are hard to break. For all his years, my dad always referred to U-Haul as "U-Haul It" I grew up thinking that was the name. Great video's. Love the channel.
I really enjoy your videos... they're so authentic. I'm guessing from what your wife said in the videos that this was the first flight after your annual. Any time we had our plane worked on or after its annual i would always have one of the pro pilots that we knew fly with me.lol Love the A&P guys....but im just sayin'.
Great video. Yes, you talk a lot, but that's fine... it's all good information. :-) You seem to have a cool family as well. I've subscribed and look forward to more. Thank you.
Hehe, ok english is not my native language but actually I think you still got it wrong. As far as my understanding goes it is called "yaw damper" because it DAMPS the yaw (not DAMPENS). The verb also is NOT "to dampen" but "to damp". But let me say that I really appreciate your positive reaction and willingness to do things right instead of telling people to just fuck off and leave you alone which has become standard.
@@onetaco772 If that means that someone already pointed it out I am sorry. I scrolled through quite a few comments but as you know it isn't that easy to find a specific topic there sometimes.
The systems will cope with the imbalance. However, the performance will be effected negatively. I like how you talk your viewers trough while pressing buttons. Could be sharper, but who cares. Anybody not liking this should just leave or STFU ;-) Should have sequenced your emergency better. Imagine being on final and hard IMC ! Go Around, AP on, Missed approach, holding in order to deal with your problem... ;-) Very much enjoy your vids and would love to fly a TBM :-)
Great job. Calm, cool and collected. You're a great pilot and blessed with a wife who shares your characteristics.
Thank you kindly!

Thanks - so encouraging to hear from you.
Truly enjoyed your video. Thanks for sharing it.
Thanks for sharing, you’ve got a hell of a co-pilot there.
Thanks! She has put up with a lot, letting me learn to fly, and being willing to go with me on my crazy adventures. Hell of a co-pilot - I agree

Well said. Some people are critical, but some, like you, are extremely kind and encouraging. Thanks!

Just joined your channel. Good job on the emergency and dealing with the stress of it.
Thanks! I'm just glad it went ok.

Thanks FlyBill - a very articulate explanation!
Good co-pilot and editor!
Really enjoying these videos! Thanks for sharing!

And now we know how it's done. Great resource management with your copilot.

Yeah - I must have started saying that a few years ago, and now can’t stop. You are right - It is the “Yaw Damper” not the “Yaw Dampener”.

Nice work on the emergency gear extension, plus you rolled it on.

What was the issue with the landing gear? Awesome video and editing 👌
That's a whole different video - we'll be uploading that soon. Stay tuned -

You are right. I’ve been appropriately chastised since then!

I am a Cirrus pilot upgrading to a TBM soon. What was the problem? How was it rectified?
nice job!!!!!!!
Thanks.
Good job
For what it is worth, Steveo almost always calls it "Yaw Dampener", I am lazy I call it "Yaw Damp".
Lol - I might steal that.

And here comes the bottle.
Lol - kids!
You never said what the problem was!!
Go check out my other video “Why the gear failed”
He is pumping WAY TOO FAST!!! Also, I would have used 50% Tq, and he could have gone into "orbit mode" with his G1000.
Yes, and I discuss this in a later video.
