Loss of emotional control and poor communication by Kompany here. And none of the players are going to improve because they believe it's actually "Life or death" so that shout was wasted.
@@alone2break it's a very common thing that footballers who turn into coaches have to learn- to actually learn man management. Lampard, Gerrard, Ole and a boatload of ex-legends I could name had to learn it the hard way that they can't expect their own players to be as talented as them, and they in turn perceive that lack of talent as a lack of effort or mindset. It's why most top managers were either not the best footballers or didnt have a playing career at all. Kompany can scream at his players all he wants like an angry dad, but the likes of Ferguson, Pep, Klopp, Mourinho, Ancelotti etc had to earn the right and respect in their managerial careers to even shout like that in the first place, and even then I don't think they've ever lost their cool on the training pitch in this fashion. The high standards and demand for standards is respectable, but this seems more like losing control of your emotions

i had a football manager similar to what Kompany has done here and trust me it’s not the way to go about it especially with gen z. You just can’t coach players now compared to 10-20 years ago
It depends you know. I’m sure some experienced players take well to the more kick up the ass method cause some could lose some of that fire later in their careers, it seems that happens to most actually before they retire, not just that their bodies can’t keep up.
@@ikpeamaojichukwu5947 That doesn't make any sense whatsoever, you're saying that just because it's Burnley, sure they aren't the best team around but they are still professionals. In my teenage years I left my club because my coach had anger issues just like Kompany, I then joined another club and ended up playing my old club and destroyed them 7-0, the point is, the coach is not always right, some coaches are truly brain dead, like Ten Hag. Whiny baby players sulking, flopping on the floor like crying babies. You could see the player slagging on the pitch. The team played like a bunch of whiny babies. The talent was weak AF hence the relegation. Terrible from top to bottom.
I'm gonna say this for the cry babies. To get results, you have to be the one who steps up and take control on everyone. You do what it takes to get the job done and get the results fast. This time Kompany saw the mentality of the players are worst than he would expect probably. Therefore, shouted to make him reset his mindset towards the training/game.
@bsvmanimanga Ancelotti never had to deal with players that are happy with mediocrity, except at Everton... but there, he used his managerial experience to get the best results he could
I don’t think this mindset works with a football manager in this day and age. You’ve got to treat individuals like individuals and yelling at players doesn’t improve morale most of the time. You’d be lucky if it did.

You can certainly question his managerial skills but no wonder he was the best CB in the league with that mentality, and he's right to be pissed off at players with shit work ethic, they won't get anywhere with that attitude, but then again, some players are quite happy with mediocrity.
