Nice concept, to preserve the transmission! Having a turn swivel makes all the difference! Looks like a good way to run the odometer back too, no???
@@MOTOWus 30-40 years ago law - odometers could only go forward. A smart one could be designed to register turns in either direction - but don't know about any like that yet.
Rear tires generally wear out faster than front tires. No complaints from any of our many customers. People buy MoTow because it’s cheaper than renting or owning a trailer. If you worry about your front tire, towing it 200 miles to get to the track won’t wear the tire more than racing it 1 lap.
Furthermore, the front tire gets worn from braking and cornering. Simply rolling on pavement with less than the full weight of the motorcycle is hardly going to have an affect on tire wear. Think of how long rear tires last on a front-wheel-drive car. Same thing. Planning to get one of these for myself in a few months!
I like it, seems robustly well built and I like the rear tire lifted instead of the front. I’m not worried about any knicks/chips from stuff kicked up cause I ride a motorcycle not a trophy. Will it work with a small hitch (200 lb tongue?) and a 500 lb bike?
A hitch with minimum 300 lb. tongue weight would be required to tow a 500 lb. bike.
What if you have to avoid an obstacle in a quick fashion will the bike tip over ? Will the towing device handle fast maneuvers ?
The device is made to pivot with you vehicle, however we always recommend extra caution when towing anything behind your vehicle.
How does this swivel design do when reversing? I would expect the swivel to Jackknife very quickly?
They should probably answer this question :P
If you know how to back up a trailer it’s similar except a with a shorter base. You can back up a short distance before the bike will turn left or right so you have to pull forward and straighten up. Thanks for watching!
I got a hitch on my 2021 sienna but U-Haul said the tongue weight is 350lbs. The motow shows a minimum of 500 tongue weight so a Kawasaki klr650 is to heavy for the setup?
That’s a relatively lightweight bike at 450 lbs. We estimate about half the weight of the bike is on the hitch so it can handle it. The sienna has a low rear end. As long as you can maintain 8-10” measured from the ground to the bottom of the MoTow after the bike is loaded you’ll be fine.

Thank you!
Hi, I love your product, just one Question, Why use the rear wheel instead of the front wheel?
By towing the rear wheel, you save stress on many important components of your motorcycle, such as the drive chain or drive train.
Can you put a quick pin for the lock bolt?
No you can’t replace the lock bolt. It’s high speed metal and is there to keep the channels tight.
are the wheel cradles interchangeable to fit larger wheels or smaller wheels? This could be good for a towing company as long as the bike has two wheels!
Thanks for asking! Each purchase of a Tow Hitch comes with 1 set of Cradle Plates, and you can purchase 3 additional sets to cover wheel sizes 130-190.
Have you considered making a light weight unit for tandem bicycles. I have a Mini Cooper and the bicycle is longer than the car is wide. Too old to hoist on roof.
@irvingfallon5510 How wide is the wheel base of the tandem?
Diameter of back tire is 19”. The width of the back tire is 2”. The distance of street contact between the front and back tire is 61”. It is a recumbent tandem and the pedals are forward from the front wheel (bike-e recumbent tandem), so the back wheel should logically be the point of attachment to the vehicle. Total bike weight is about 60 pounds, so no real need for screw jack tire lifting (although it would be neat). I would use a cordless drill for prime mover on screw jack if obtained.
Only one front and back wheel.@@MOTOWus
I tried to order this on your website however you are not taking orders at the moment. When do you think you will have more? Thanks
Our website will be accepting online orders later today. Thank you for your interest!
Your website says you're not accepting orders, I need one of these ASAP! You guys absolutely nailed the design on this and the build quality looks outstanding. You have to have a used one or demo laying around you can sell a brother huh?
Hello. We anticipate taking orders again in late September. Email us contact@motowus.com and we'll let you know when we do! Thanks for your interest.
Hello Caylon, just wanted to follow up and let you know we are currently having a sale on Motorcycle Tow Hitches at ww.motowus.com ! Please let us know if you have any questions.
Can u put the front tire in first
No it’s not designed for front wheel towing unless it’s a trike
Can i use this if my vehicles tongue weight is 250? I have a bmw 5 series and a 2022 zx6r
It all depends on the weight of your bike, as half of the total weight is on the Tow Hitch, and half of the total weight is on your vehicle. If the weight of your bike+the weight of our Tow Hitch (~40lbs) is less than 500lbs , the MoTow Tow Hitch will work great!
@@MOTOWus my bike wighs 425 so + 40 is 465 so green light thanks for the info imma take it across the country
@@wildingnemo5869how did the cross country trip go ? with this tow device ..??? I have a similar type tow rig without the swivel, that I have not used as of yet , only have to tow the bike 40 miles , but just wondering how I’m going to make this work out without issues and doing more damage to my 2022 Zx6r …😂 oh just hoping this isn’t going to cost me more agony 😮😢😂😅😊
The owner designed and built MoTow for sport bikes because sport bike owners don’t ride their bikes long distances. His first bike was the 2014 ZX6R that’s pictured in multiple MoTow videos.
This tow hitch is the best towing for a sport bike, period.
@@MOTOWus I have a 35' RV with a Class 3 hitch/500lb tongue cap. Will this work on a 05 Yahama FJR1300? 180 rear tire. 638 lbs. wet. Less two hard bags, 3 gallons of fuel: 595 lbs! 55-60% of weight should be on the front tire. I also have a RUclips channel and one sponsor. Would love to have another sponsor ; )
Please build some sort of dolley so that both tires dont touch the ground
I'm buying a mowtow for sure
But having a custom built dolly to put under the front tire to prevent my tires from wearing out.
If yall sold it I would buy it from yall no questions asked!
Other than 3 straps on the tire. Whats keeping it from tipping over?
In our experience there's 70% less front tire wear than when riding because it's free rolling with no rider weight or braking force on it. Also rear tires generally wear out faster than front tires. Our many customers have towed thousands of miles with no issues.
What happens if you need to back up?
you can back up for like 10' and then the bike will turn left or right like when backing up a trailer
my 240 rear tire will never fit. Why not just use the front wheel?
sprocket, chain, trans ......
MoTow is designed for rear wheel towing for the safety of the drive chain, unless it’s a trike. Thanks for your interest.

@@ParkMetalDetecting Yes, your Bike will mount to this hitch so long as you have 15” of rear tire clearance for the tire cradle. The weight is in line. The RV and tongue weight is compatible.

I have an 06 FJR1300 and I do not believe that they could be towed with the rear wheel on the ground as some of the hitches. I think it would be starved for lubrication.
My sport bike's front tire is very expensive, and only lasts about 3-4K miles. Last thing I want to do is wear it out taking my bike to the track, or anywhere else. Wish you'd have figured out how to improve the hitch carrier concept.
Ya, it's called a 'Trailer'. If your tires can't touch the ground then OBVIOUSLY this won't work, regardless of 'improvements' to a design that's meant to rely on your own motorcycle's tires. Wish you'd have figured out a way to understand this rather than dogging the company.
@@foxtrot789 Thank you for understanding and seeing the truth. One lap on the racetrack wears the tire more than towing the bike for 1,000 miles.
My sport bike front tire is not that expensive, and I always reach the tread limits on the sides first. I have no concern let it free wheeling on the center.
Full fender Harley?
Sorry for the delayed response! Please contact us with your specific model of Harley to see if it will work with our Tow Hitch, you can email us at contact@motowus.com . Thank you!
Why would you buy this for $700 when you can buy a small trailer and save the wear and tear on your wheel bearings, suspension, and tire for the same money?
Easier to load and travel with are a few reasons our customers give us. No trailer to register, park when you’re traveling, and store when you don’t need it are some others. The bike rides on its own suspension with no rider weight so any wear is minimal compared with riding it.
I can't haul a trailer with my car but I can haul my 400# bike like this. Paying to renew a trailer plate every year for just hauling my bike would suck too.
Trailer would just take up a huge space at the garage.
My wife won't let me have a Motorcycle but I still bought it. I'd pay double if we had to store even a small trailer. I have a line on a 48x72 ex DOT - but even that with new rubber is approaching $800 (2 new tires needed + $500-$600 trailer + $100 & my labor for fenders) and tag.
@@jimm8596 same here the tongue weight is too low but this is perfect even if it wears out my tire a bit it wont be that much to outweigh the pros
lmao
So much damage from flying rocks and debris
You mean when riding your bike right?
@@saxologist1 from towing even mud flaps only do so mucj
Brandon Costner You’re towing in the center of the vehicle so your bike is protected from debris. And from many potholes too because most are on the sides of the road, not in the center of the lane.
Too expensive for what you’re getting… I mean $1000? I’ll have to pass unless the price drops to a more reasonable range otherwise I’d just buy a trailer for that price.
Hmmm. 100% 304 stainless steel, stores in your trunk, made in the USA, plus free shipping. A trailer of any quality will cost over $2000, require annual registration, and need to be stored for security. The Motow hitch saves a lot on gas over a trailer as well. All things to think about before drawing a conclusion.
Bike is facing the wrong way. Good luck reversing without destroying the motorcycle.
what u talking about
Are you high?
If you know how to back up a trailer it's similar except a with a shorter base. You can back up a short distance before the bike will veer left or right, so you have to pull forward and straighten up before continuing.
You Idiot. You Tow it like this so it doesn’t Rack up Miles….Dumbass Comment…..
the bike's steering is strapped straight, so reversing is just like backing up a trailer since the wheel doesn't turn side-to-side ..... it pivots at the hitch 😉
NO. Just NO!
