    I have seen a few tow kits but this is the first one that actually looks like it could not only tow a bike but tow it safely. Very simple design, but very robust. I especially like the swivel and only needing 1 person to load it. Very nice kit.

    My owners manual reads not to coast excessively without the engine running or damage to the transmission can occur due to oil not being circulated. I don't know about Harleys, but this device may not a good idea for all motorcycles.

      Wouldn't it be possible to simply add a splitter cable to the electric fan on the bike? Splice the other end into the harness for the break and blinkers and you can have the fan running off the tow vehicle. Just an idea.

    Ok as of this moment ( not sure of tranny need to ask Harley Davidson) but we made these in the 70-80's and welded a 2 inch ball hitch for your pivot point, we used them but i liked a trailer in the long run this worked in emergency, plus if you weld a car dolly works well as a single bike trailer, ride safe all, c u out there,

    I saw another product almost like this however you would back the rear tire into it. It had a lift mechanism that you would then crank to lift the rear wheel off the ground. You would use straps for the handle bars.

    • @jonmajarucon51
      @jonmajarucon51 3 года назад

      Yeah, I saw that too. they wanted $800 for it. This one looked pretty good but I would like to know how much the motorcycle actually leans on turns. Some of these carriers are so flimsy.

      That thing was only good for dirt bikes you couldn't get a Harley up there because the finger would get broke up or been up you would destroy your back finger your saddle bags or anything trying to drag a Harley backwards like that I know which one you're talking about is strictly for dirt bikes

    • @georgeyoung613
      @georgeyoung613 Год назад

      Thats a very good question. I don't know how they do it. But i would just trace a pattern from the tire carrier and cut some spacers out of wood. Slip one on each side of the tire and it should work fine. And the wood won't damage your rim or tire. It's just what i would do.

    I have searched the internet and searched and searched looking for this trailer hitch right here. it's the only one I would buy... because it actually turns the motorcycle instead of trying to flip the motorcycle over in a curve.... when you go around the corner it turns with you.. So save your money and don't buy any of the other junk ones on here on the Internet on Amazon on eBay Walmart or wherever at a $139 all you're gonna do is get a pile of junk and may flip your bike over sooner or later on the highway this is the only one that I would trust but a 100% surety that I would get there without losing my bike It's built tough and it pivit's when you go around corners so it turns with the vehicle rather than lean the bike over that's we're going to buy one call these people

    I was thinking of making something like this to tow my $100 bike to the DMV for an inspection. For anything more expensive, I'd be able to afford a $500 trailer
    that might keep it from getting damaged. I have people run into the back of my trailer all the time, they won't notice this bike and run into it. If its on a trailer, only the trailer will get hit.

    Lots of bikes are not made to travel in this type of application. Add the potential for rock chips, straps coming loose, bad or bumpy roads, road construction debri, a needed quick turn, people wanting to pass you more often than not by feeling uncomfortable not wanting to follow a precariously loaded bike like this, plus inattentive following drivers that get too close, signals being further away or possibly blinded by varying angles plus a host of other issues is just asking for an accident or damage to the bike. Is it worth it for what is paid for this hook up device? No way! Buy a trailer and be done with it. More safe than that contraption.
    I once sold a mint condition Polaris Ranger 800 side by side utv to a friend. He used the same low quality 1” straps (like so many people do) as similar shown on this video. He went over a bump on a major highway here in MN and lost the entire rig into the ditch after the straps released. He was somewhat fortunate. Lost some expense cab glass and had to repair some panels on the Ranger but it did survive the incident. It just happened to land on the soft ground in the ditch ok. Costly mistake however.
    Please people, check your equipment for proper loading, safe operations and have the best tie downs ever made. You owe it to your safety and to the traveling public. I wouldn’t use this particular motorcycle dolly in a million years. A trailer protects everything and everybody involved much more securely.

    I see so many fails with this, damage to the transmission, damage to the tire if you forget to take it outa gear, damage to the forks the way he strapped them, anything being towed HAS to have lights(like a camper/trailer), just buy a trailer.

    • @rmccycle4918
      @rmccycle4918  3 года назад +2

      Hey Rasher, we prove an instruction manual that specifically explains that the bike MUST be in NEUTRAL in order to not cause any damages. Incase that someone forgets this step, you will surely feel the effects in your vehicle when you try to drive away with it. The straps do not have the capacity to bend the forks. And lastly, it is not required for the bike or the towing device to have lights because it does not obstruct the vehicle's normal brake lights. My personal bike is worth more than 40K and I have towed it for more than 100K miles without causing any damage. We always apricate your feedback. Let us know if you have any other concerns!

    • @rasher-8638
      @rasher-8638 3 года назад

      @@rmccycle4918 People forget Bikes WILL be left in gear I guarantee it, I was a car hauler for a number of years, if your straps are not capable of bending the forks then they are not strong enuff, and shouldn't be used. As most only have a few hundred working pound load capability, my Ultra weighs in at 950ish lbs, let the bike twist and that will hyper stress those straps in milliseconds and that Will fail. In Michigan D O T officers WILL pull you over and you WILL get a ticket for no lights on the dingy(Item being pulled) I have seen it with my own eyes.) My duramax has 900ish ft lbs of torque, I would Never feel a tiny motorcycle tire, and I know what to feel for.
