I have been using my project with keystone as I was struggling to align my UST... this guide is a must have, it took me like 10min following your guideline to get a perfect alignment of my UST ... so grateful thank you so much !

Side note: I'm currently working a show where I'm converging two 25k projectors onto a 40' screen. I definitely had to use a bit of geometry adjustment for this one. ;)

Solid walkthrough. I might just 3D print something if I needed the projector feet to have more adjustability than they do. Of course, ideally, getting everything placed exactly right is the way.

Just got the formovie theater and getting a static/grainy looking image.
I did have to use keystone quite a bit for my space with my ceilings, would that cause this?
Projector lens dirty?
I do have a brand new hdmi cable which I used on previous projector and worked fine.
I included a image hopefully it will show the issue clearly.
Equipment:

Panasonic UB820 This problem still happens on streaming from plex as well.

I 'm using an LS800, and I can basically get what you show at 0:35. The top of the image is parallel with the top of the screen but the bottom of the image is not parallel with the bottom of the screen. The only difference is that at 0:35, the bottom-right corner is lower than the bottom-left corner, but for mine, the bottom left corner is lower than the bottom right corner. I can rotate the left and right legs to mage the left and right side of the image more parallel with the left and right side of the screen, but that bottom left corner is still lower than the bottom right corner. I don't see how to move the projector so that I can level out the bottom side of the image without ruining everything else. You can adjust the left leg to make the bottom-left corner higher and the right leg to make the bottom right corner lower, but doing so with the left leg will also make the left side of the image slant way to the right (so that the bottom left corner has an angle lower than 90 degrees), and doing so with the right leg will make the right side of the image slant way to the right (so that the bottom right corner has an angle greater than 90 degrees) because the impact of adjusting the legs is much greater on how the sides slant than on how high the bottom corners are raised or elevated.

Hi Rob, can I use an UST screen with a normal throw projector? And can I use a UST Projector with a normal non UST screen?
A UST screen with a normal throw projector will result in a lot of lost brightness. A UST projector with a non-UST screen works fine as long as the screen is properly tensioned (pull down screens need to be "tab tensioned"), but be aware that you will get ceiling reflections so most people using a UST with a non-UST screen choose to put velvet above their screen, or at least paint the ceiling a dark color.

Can you tell me what my problem is when the top of the screen is blurry and the bottom is clear? I put it on a screen and then just the wall and had the same issue . It's an Aurora Pro projector.

Have you adjusted the focus in the menu of the projector?
@@TheHookUp the focus is maxed out. I’ve tried a couple places to project this now. Using it just on my wall and my buddies screen. It has the exact same problem. Blurry top all across and clear bottom.

It will specifically be a "gaming projector" video, so the X500i probably fits, but I was planning on having the X3100i, so we'll see if I have room in the budget for both.

@TheHookUp found one from Viewsonic. LX700-4k model.. seems like a dreamy projector based from specs. For less than 1500USD (converted from Pound). Laser 4k 3500lumens Xbox certified as well for less. Though ofcourse I will rely on your expertise if these claims are true i.e. lumens, color accuracy.. Cheers! Thanks. I hope you check on this

And after spending 5 hours trying to perfectly align the image to the screen, somebody knocks the credenza a bit and everything is lost.
Who's walking around your house bumping into furniture hard enough to move it?
@@TheHookUp My son probably :) But I am also thinking about cleaning around the projector etc. It seems that even a millimeter of movement could cause an obvious misalignment. If it was screwed on the ceiling then I wouldn't worry about it, but just sitting on a credenza with shims under the projector etc, does not seem like something that you would set once and forget about it, especially if you have young kids. Maybe they need to invent some mechanical lens which self-aligns to the screen as a better alternative to auto-keystone. This way you would have to just get it close enough, and the projector would do the rest on its own, and be able to fix any small future movements also.
The hisense PX2 actually comes with brackets that stick to your furniture with double sided tape to stop the feet from moving once aligned.
