Greetings from Germany! Got the album one day before release and it runs and runs and runs! This is the album I`ve waited for! Beeing fan since release of "Torment.." and "Forward.." is the best Trash album of all time! "Volume 6" gives me "Torment", "Forward.." and "Soldiers.." vibes. I agree total with the punk vibes: All in all: This album is the unltimate straight forward Old School Trash Killer! Album of (the young) year? YES
saw sacrifice in the late eighties early nineties at a venue called the casino in halifax. it was one of the most insane shows i have ever been to and i have seen many artists from many genres. it was a small venue but they just killed it! great band that should have far more credit for their work
I saw them at the Michigan Deathfest 1. Morbid Angel was the headliner and the entire line-up was death/heavier bands. Sacrifice were the odd band out and it showed. Still psyched to say that Ive seen them. Thanks for watching!
Hi I had to tell you that I've been a big fan of this band too since the demo which a lot of songs i had on cassette from a radio show i listened to back then called arg rock i think is the correct name However the dj was Brian Taylor who also had a record store in downtown Toronto called Record Peddler I would always go there on weekends and buy metal or hardcore punk imports and Brian was always at the counter and would kind of recommend records i knew him quite well! He also formed a record label called diabolic force and produced recorded the first classic Sacrifice album thought you might want to know how that came together also would like to say I got to know sacrifice back in the day seeing a lot of their gigs in Toronto where I live and would hang out with them backstage before a gig Great guys ! I'm happy they have this album coming out bands beware ! Just thought I'd share this with you Thanks so much for your great channel! Cheers
Ahhhhh! Brian Taylor created Diabolic Force. That makes sense. Thanks so much for shedding some light on his connection to the band. Sacrifice are a Canadian treasure. So glad they’re still out there kicking ass!
Very cool review, thank you Marty! I got my copy yesterday and I really enjoy what I´m hearing. I need to dig a bit deeper to see if I like it more than "The Ones I condemn". This is how "modern" Thrash should sound like and you know thatThrash is my fave sub genre.
Really looking forward to getting this one. The only frustrating thing to hear with bands like this is that there are some of the oldheads bashing bands like this because they don’t sound like their first album. I get it. Those early raw organic sounding records are fantastic but to just swear off bands that continue to still be aggressive and mean because you need at old raw production is so limiting to me. Keep in mind guys a lot of those early releases sounded like that because those bands couldn’t afford higher production and instruments. They had to work with what they had. From what I’ve heard there is nothing not to like on this record if you like good thrash metal. A definite pick up for me.
I spun Torment in Fire the other day, and it isnt just the production that gives the material a raw/aggressive feeling. The riffs were more speedy tremolo picked style. The songs had more fire in them. Rob's youthful screams cut to the bone. You're right.... not always fair to judge a band on their early materials, because age does rob much of that youthful piss and vinegar. It forces long time vocalists to re-evaluate their singing style. Having said that, Sacrifice remain focused on their overall sound. They still "got it", even if the songs arent as fast and sharp, which in the case of this album, they are at times. Thanks for watching!
SMALLER BANDS ALWAYS SEEMS TO BE CRITIQUED MORE HARSHLY THAN BIGGER BANDS. FRANKLY METALLICA GOT SOMEWHAT CRITICIZED FOR HAVING A SLOWER PACED TRACK LIKE "FADE TO BLACK" ON THE "RIDE THE LIGHTNING" ALBUM AND EVEN ON "MASTER OF PUPPETS" HAD SOME SLOWER MID PACED PALM MUTERS LIKE "THE THING THAT SHOULD NOT BE" AND "WELCOME HOME (SANITARIUM)" BUT THOSE 2 ALBUMS WERE CONSIDERED THRASH METAL CLASSICS. SO PERSONALLY I THINK ITS UNFORTUNATELY THE HUMAN CONDITION TO GO AFTER LOWER HANGING FRUIT. SOLDIERS OF MISFORTUNE AND ITS TITLE TRACK 1ST TIME I HEARD I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT. MORE THOUGHT OUT SONG STRUCTURES WHEN DONE WELL IS EXCITING AND CAN BE MORE MEMORABLE THAN JUST GOING 1000 MILES AN HOUR ALL THE TIME. SAME WITH SLAYER "DIVINE INTERVENTION" WHICH IS MY FAV. SLAYER ALBUM, THE TITLE TRACK IS FFUCKING EPIC.... ALREADY ORDERED MY COPY OF SACRIFICES NEW ALBUM AND CANT WAIT TO GET IT...
I agree fully with your assessment. In the review I posed the question, “Was it Sacrifices doing (as to why I didn’t like those middle era albums), it was it me?” Clearly it was me and where I was going into more stylistically intense music. I appreciate your thoughts and breakdown of this idea. Totally agree with you. Thanks for watching!
Amazing record!

Definitely worth investigating. Great production and they still sound like "Sacrifice". Thrash is alive in 2025! Thanks for watching!
