Hats off to both players for a great tie-break. Very exciting to watch! This event reinforces my love of Shakhriyar Mamedyarov and his fearless style. He’s an exciting player to watch. I believe he is a stronger player than Caruana, but that Caruana is more consistent. Shakh is certainly more entertaining. I would love to see a Carlsen-Mamedyarov match for the crown!
Mamedyarov seems like a really good fellow, the type of awkward-looking, affable man who you want to sit with and play chess while having a good laugh.
I am so much impressed by Shakh performance. This is just crazy how he played blitz against Maxime and even won with black pieces. It feels like Shakh is back again after terrible start at the beginning of the year, he regains his best fit. After all he was number 3 rated player last year and I am pretty sure that he will get back to that rating again. Congratulations!
@@Grandcapi I still say "we have a completely new game" is technically incorrect, as it's impossible to have one. If you haven't seen it, Hikaru has your picture on his RUclips title page for titled Tuesdays. Lol... His way of an apology I think. Thanks for the vids.
@Oissev Onos Hikaru Was asked during one of his live streams on twitch about Agadmator asking for his signature. He wasn't sure that it was really Agadmator because his agent had told him jokingly that Agadmator was really short like a dwarf, But the guy asking for his signature was really tall so he wasn't sure it was him. Again, he was just kidding. But he has respect for what Agadmator does so I think he did this for him. A nice gesture.
Wow, congrats for a great win to Mamedyarov! I thought he was gonna lose in the tiebreaks and that he had blown his chance to win with that horrible game he lost as black when all he needed was a draw. He proved me wrong and what a slug-fest of a match, to go all the way to the Armageddon game.

For the chess clock it May be cool add a Bluetooth Mode so both Players have their own Smartphone. But maybe thats hard to program while beeing Just a small improvement ..
@Oissev Onos Of his games against MVL, I only watched the first 2 games (classic time format) and this one after checking yes you're correct but the way he handled the Grünfeld in the first game (I only saw magnus play against it that well) and for Ding game, all top players' performance drop after they run out of preparation(even I can notice when that happen, and I am a poor 1400 player :D) but still If he keeps at it, I think he will rank 4th next year after(Carseln, Caruana and Ding). Anyway I might be wrong, and he completely let me down. Have a great day too!
Oissev Onos I believe you were joking when you wrote those sentences. Mamedyarov is all time top 6th player by live rating and he was 2nd after Carlsen in 2018. He peaked his live rating by 2826, so he is not a top player? He is one of the most attacking player ever. Why not have bishop capture D4 at 8:33? Bishop takes D4 pawn, bishop C5 takes D4 and then rook takes D4 should leave white up a pawn no? Rook can't take on C6 because bishop takes D5 would be winning
Black will play Nb4, if white moves his rook then black will the bishop on d4. And if white doesn’t move his rook but moves his dark squared bishop then black will play Rxd3
Kd4 if Re1 then Rh6 check then Bb2/Bb1? Can that be played to save the bishop while keeping an eye on the d1 square? Alternatively couldn't white sacrifice the bishop and try to queen his pass pawn after Rh6 check? Can someone check?
@@Grouse-sy3wo but it does preserve the pawn, and you can briefly tuck the king in at e4, and then the question is whether you can stop the h pawn. may still be a losing path, but not as immediate
MVL didn't lose on time, but SM made some kind of strange gesture and raised his hand, almost like he was annoyed that MVL was still playing, and maybe that's why MVL resigned. Even after the game was over it was hard to tell who had won because SM still looked annoyed.
Disappointed in your analysis that you didn't show the drawing line. On the 51st move, instead of retreating with the Bishop to f2, the move that MVL had to find was 51. Odd because i saw his clock at 0 and shaks at 00:10, also in the live coverage.
"if you're to busy ..." - and in this position, agadmator's vast knowledge resigned the game.
I was hoping other people had spotted this =)

Maxime was really tough though which gave a special taste for this tournament.

Two of my favorite players, but I am happy that Mamedyarov won. Nice to see him return to form!
Now Mamedyrov has very nice present for his baby.Maxime has like a smuggler face.
We need a shirt that says captures captures or e takes d4
We need a shirt that says "Click Bait!"
And one with "and now we have a complete new game"...It would serve to other purposes too.
I belive he already made that shirt with "captures captures" word.
I will print a shirt saying „queen captures, Knight captures“

#Siggestion 7th game between MVL and Shakh. Rapid. The march of the King. Was it right to march king from one side to another?

14:10 It was Wojtaszek (hopefully I spelled it correctly). Dubov was knocked out by Mamedyarov in Riga.
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS AGADMATOR, LOVE FROM THE PHILIPPINES!
12:38 why white didn't move Rook to B6????? If black moves rook to B1 you move king to A6 and protect your rook, yet you snatched a pawn.
Black will just capture the bishop
If Rxb6, Bc7, Rb7, Rb1+, Ka6, Ra1+, Kb6, Rb1+ and perpetual. If after Bc7 white goes Ra6, then black will capture the bishop on d1
@Teddy Mbote if Rxb6, Rxd1, c7+, Kf7, c8=Q
