this is not langar ki dal by any chance langar dal is manh ki dal with chane ki dal, manh ki dal is not broken its whole black lentils. The recipe is you simmer dal with turmeric, green chilies, ginger, garlic whole, and salt slowly for 5 hours or 4 whistles in a cooker and then simmer for 11/2 hour. Once lentils are cooked, saute cumin, and tomatoes separately. Add this tarka in dal and again simmer for 30 minutes. Finally add butter just before serving with coriander leaves in dal.Langar wali dal used to have a peculiar taste because of two reasons, first is a brass cauldron in which it was cooked second simmering/ boiling lentils for 5-6 hours
@@rajji7352 I am a sikh, kabhi gurudware mein langar bante dekhna ya jaa kar hi puch lena. Aur mandir aur hindu dharm ke langar mein pyaz lahsun nhi padte.
@@ms-ll5sy that is exactly my point ...jab guruon ne langar parampara shuru ki thi...toh wahan par bhi saatvik bhojan hi parosa jata tha.... introduction of onion and lahsun was done much later because onion was brought by portuguese..
