Brought the visiting family (from Oregon) to The Lobster Barrel to hopefully meet Alan... sadly, he was already in the hospital... The staff were kindly and sensitive... Cherished moment... I was away doing regional theater in 1990... So, unfortunately missed Alan's passing... Went to Dawn Well's estate sale recently and was able to procure a few sentimental items... one of which was a well used card game... which I'm sure Alan and Russell... very close friends with whom she would visti with... had played. Thanks for the moving movie...! Well done.
I have always wondered if the newer generations love this show as much as the older generations. I was seven when this show aired which shows how old I am.
They had a hard finding the right actor To play the skipper. All the other actors they tried couldn’t calm down enough when Gilligan messed up, but Alan Hale was a god at the show
Can anyone imagine Carroll O’Connor playing the Skipper or Jerry Van Dyke playing Gilligan? But I have to say Jerry would not have been a bad second choice.

Alan Hale just had the best comedic timing. I think that's the secret to why he was so hilarious. That and his expressive face.

That hot soup in the Skipper’s face was probably the most painful. At least Gilligan kept his word and did not spill it on the Howells.

Alan Hale broke his arm in one of the episodes. I wonder if it was during a scene when Gilligan accidentally hurt the skipper??
