Small features are always important for any profession based on creativeness. Sound engineer, musician, software developer, painter and even a logistics engineer creating a kpi dashboard to facilitate analysing. I have huge respect for software developers, you guys make our dream come true in digital age.

Obviously Schleis is very talented at sound design but when certain presets showed up in Nexus I always wondered if they collaborated in some way to make them? Same goes for a lot of the Hands-Up presets and Vengeance sample packs.

C and cpp is not hard to handle/code in if done correctly from the start. Anyway it's freaking awesome for just one guy to code the whole thing without a team. You also have to take into consideration that he worked on the 'Nexus' project for many years.

As a software developer myself, I'm very impressed by Michael Hartmann's work. Incredible amount of talent and knowledge is required for designing and implementing an app like Nexus, and on top of that he's alone. Maybe that's the key to his success? Absolutely amazing.
I thought Nexus is basicaloly just a glorified rompler. What's so innovative about that? Any soft synth that relies so heavily on samples isn't all that special imho.

Is there any plugin you miss in your productions? Some specific effect, modulation, synthesis you long for to have? I'm a professional developer since 20 years and going to dive into VST development now using JUCE (the same framework thats behind Nexus). But I'm lacking ideas... it should be something cool and it will be free

Haha that was so much fun to watch , I really like nexus! Just so easy to use , but indeed a good search engine inside a vst is one of the main things that makes a vst a lot more user friendly. Ive got a couple vst instruments that sound great but are horrible to find some presets in and that ends up using them a lot less. Thnx for the video

Seeing just a small bit of Michael Klep's programming style and his workstation makes me wanna be a better programmer. Thay guy's a legend. He's already got a ton of excellent VSTis under his belt (The Bassline and QuadraSID to name just a couple). I am 110% with him in his answer to the 'final final' question: we need to strive for quality, not quantity - the sad reality is that the IT industry has been polluted with 'agile methodologies' which preach the exact opposite and for mundane programmers (myself included) it's becoming an ever-increasing stream of demands to be delivered in ever-decreasing time-frames (namely, 'sprints') and with less and less regards to quality. Bottomline, being a programmer these days is a frustrating exercise, a real nightmare making a living like this. Michael is a rare find, he can work alone and dictate his own pace, prioritize his workload as he sees fit and strive to deliver based on his own 'definition of done', not someone else's. That is why as a programmer, I envy Michael. I wish one day I can get out of the 'agile' rat race and make my life work like that for me.
Man, much much respect for the coder as well! I'm a coder myself (web design), but even this is above my head to be honest! I'm enjoying Nexus 3 and i will enjoy it much more after i see all this hard work putting into it!
Whatever with these comments against the look of the GUI. Just bought it. Pretty impressed... have learned a bit about sound design from the works of Manuel over the years. Nexus is moving in an awesome direction, and Manuel's plugins are some of the best. Like others have said... skins will eventually come, but this is an awesome upgrade from what Nexus2 was.
I should add, I'm working on a Macbook Pro Retina display and the last nexus versions (N1 and N2) looked terrible. For those using Retina display this is the first version that looks HD, and after navigating through N3 for the past couple hours, I'm loving the GUI. It's straight forward, and really shows you what the sounds are doing. Arpeggiator is awesome. Everyone has their opinions, but regardless, I would say people that have nexus 2 should upgrade. And big thanks to Michael Hartmann as well which I didn't say in my last post. Without people like him and Steve Duda, we wouldn't have these advances in music. Awesome stuff guys, and awesome vids Doctor Mix! Been following your videos since I saw your Daft Punk remakes.
This is what a VST needs, easy navigating. I bought Nexus 2 and i barely used it because of the user interface. The presets were inspiring so I kept going back to it. but I will get uninspired because of the user interface. This is the best user interface in the market. Every synth company should change their browser interface and just call it the N3 browser 🤪🤪🤪
Such a step forward, glad of this update! I hope that, for the next updates of Nexus, they will make an effect VST version of it (like Serum), because the effects are pretty nice, especially the trancegate, and it's a shame they can be used only inside Nexus.

I knew Manuel Schleiss and guys from reFX existed, they're really a bit of a legends in terms of plugin history. I love to see you show people like this in your videos. Second thing: That bunch of Star Wars collectibles made me relate to both of the guys. That's so awesome! :) But still ... I don't like Nexus. I don't think it's bad when people do like it and I'm happy for anyone who will be happy with N3 ... but I just don't like the idea of buying sounds. Eventhough they are superb. I like to learn how to make them. Some of the Nexus 2 patches (especially pianos and leads) got so over-used even non-producers started to identify them. That happens less if you attempt to create your own sounds. Just a personal prerence. But amazing video either way, thank you! :)

I thought it was interesting that his primary monitors are simple Mackies from the old days! And that no-no egg crate style foam that everyone says does nothing and kills high end on the walls. On the other erecting choice of master keyboard with the Yamaha arranger! (Maybe there is s secret circuit in there that generates all Vengeance sounds? Haha!)

Great to see the meetings with Manuel and Michael. Great and Informative Video and also love to see all the Star Wars Collectables. Yesterday I upgraded my Nexus 2 to Nexus 3 because of this video. I've had some broken files in the library (because an old HD with issues) and they were all repaired with the upgrade via the App, The Cloud App works great! Still have to discover all the goodies. I thought it was interesting that his primary monitors are simple Mackies from the old days! And that no-no egg crate style foam that everyone says does nothing and kills high end on the walls. On the other erecting choice of master keyboard with the Yamaha arranger! (Maybe there is s secret circuit in there that generates all Vengeance sounds? Haha!)

Great to see the meetings with Manuel and Michael. Great and Informative Video and also love to see all the Star Wars Collectables. Yesterday I upgraded my Nexus 2 to Nexus 3 because of this video. I've had some broken files in the library (because an old HD with issues) and they were all repaired with the upgrade via the App, The Cloud App works great! Still have to discover all the goodies. Enjoying your videos BTW, keep up the good work!
