    Thanks Marty, I really enjoyed that. I stopped playing guitar for 42 years, and took it up again a year ago. I always loved this song, and obviously, I was around when it first came out.

    Hey thanks Marty, I have been working on this one. I just happened to see you covered it and was like right on! I was having trouble with the timing of the chord changes. It was really frustrating. Are you leaving the A string open when you are playing the G Chord? It looks like it . Anyway, it sounds great. Peace

    • @partymartyeasyguitartunes1711
      @partymartyeasyguitartunes1711  6 лет назад +1

      Yup, it's kind of a little trick I do. Sometimes I feel the A string is not needed in the G chord depending on the song I am playing. I do however, mute the A string with the fat of my index finger when I do this which is what you see in this vid. Hope that helps. Thanx for tuning in

    • @CommViewer
      @CommViewer 6 лет назад

      Muting the A string instead of playing the b note (2nd fret) is very common in bluegrass, it gives the G chord a very 'direct' sound.

    • @partymartyeasyguitartunes1711
      @partymartyeasyguitartunes1711  5 лет назад

      Whahhhhh??? I'm sorry you feel that way my friend, playing along with the song is how I learned, so that is how I teach. I can assure you I wasn't showing off. But if you think I was, I can live with that, thanx for tuning in just the same. Have another look from a different angle and then maybe you might get my channel. Good luck

    Can you go over strumming patterns? Please. Maybe put it up on the screen or just go over it, Thanks that would be very helpful for me.

    • @partymartyeasyguitartunes1711
      @partymartyeasyguitartunes1711  10 лет назад +2

      Hey Kim, I find it hard to try and explain the strumming pattern for most songs as I believe it is more of a feel thing that comes with more practice but to try and help you out here is the strumming pattern for this song:
      strum - d d d u d u u d u u d u
      chord - G D C D
      I hope this helps, good luck and thanx for tuning in
