Dr. Suvdaa Barragchaa is an amazing woman and doctor. She is the embodiment of what a doctor should be. She could easily give up on the Tsaartan nomads and find patients who would pay her more. She’s committed to her family and her oath to her patients, whom she holds high in her esteem. She knows the important role they play in her country and culture. When she looked at her stroke patient, she knew that that probably could be the last time she saw him alive and he would probably prefer to die alone with his reindeer rather than in a village. That scene had me in tears!
Dr. Suvdaa has such heavy responsibilities for someone so young. Not only does she need to know a wide scope of medical knowledge, her patients are hard to reach and she’s often alone. In a community without phone connectivity, you have to rely on luck to find them in winter. I hope she continues to have many successful treatments.
What an amazing woman! She’s obviously not doing this work for money but the health and well being of her fellow man. I pray she makes it home after each trek to her love ones 🙏another fantastic documentary. Many thanks.
What an incredible woman/doctor. The world needs more people like her. In our egoist society ( i live in northern europe) you do not see many people with the high moral and sense of responsibility that this young doctor shows. Doctors here do not work for less then 250 dollars a day in their warm office and still complain about stress and often treat pationt as if they are a nuisance.. I wish her all luck, i hope they will make more documantaries about her life. Good luck to you! you are an inspiration to many other.
Why would they let her alone? At least the goverebt should have provided an accompany or driver for her. This woman really does what they have taken oath as doctors which is to serve. Praying for your safety and good health to help more people in your area. You are amazing!!❤
The Mongolian govt should pay her 3 to 4 k dollars to do this job and she is taking care of her family also . What a brave woman she should be nominated for UN peace award n like her other health staffs also.
Amazing that human beings can live in such harsh conditions. The sincerity and perseverance of this doctor is touching. Respect for patient's choice is difficult at times but the freedom of choice gives them much happiness.
Inspiring video, especially since I have been to Mongolia and Taiga to know how arduous the journey through the mountainous area is. Kudos to her unwavering and courageous spirit.
I LOVE HER! I’m going to watch it again! She’s an inspiration and I will share this video. This should be shown in schools and especially medical schools.
I've been trying to get in medical school for almost three years now and Suvdaa's story definitely inspired me. Best wishes for her and her people. 🇲🇳 🇧🇷
This young lady should be talked about more. Doctors in the United States don’t do a very small fraction of what she does. All they care about is the money. This doctor cares.
"The top third of the class makes the best professors. The middle third of the class make the best doctors. The bottom third of the class make the most money." - so said my father, a physician in the USA, speaking about docs in medical school. There are plenty of doctors who are committed to serving. In the USA they are well compensated but that's incidental. And of course there are a large number who are trying to make as much money as possible.
This extraordinary human being chose to work with the nomads…she could have worked in a city or town and made much more money. There are medical personnel who make choices like that all over the world…all of them, including her, are true heroes to the people they serve. Words cannot express my admiration for them and for her. To me all they all truly represent the essence of being a healer and define courage.
Salute! I have been to Mongolia and the terrain is extremely tough. To be doing what she's doing in winter, it's hard work and speaks volume of her dedication
The absolute dedication of this young doctor should be shown to all the spoiled city doctors. She earns about the equivalent of 200 US dollars monthly. Have to live her daughter with her grandparents when she goes to visit her patients under incredible circumstances. She should be a lot better compensated for her dangerous work. Gog bless you young doctor and keep you safe!
What an incredible human being she is 🙏🏼 Doctors around the world could learn a thing or two from her. She is a true god sent. She is following her passion and her calling even though it’s not going to make her rich she chooses to do this daily. May god bless and protect her and her family 🙏🏼 Most of the doctors ( not all) in the US and India are in it for the money.
Kudos to this doctor!!! Nothing but admiration and salutation for her heart and hard work. The LORD bless this doctor and use her to treat all these unreached ones. Thank God for her!! Bless her family too!
Love and only Love prevails & Dr Suvdaa - you are an embodiment of it. God bless you and your people. Stay strong and do well. What an encouragement...!!
Wow! What an incredible woman. These nomadic people are amazing. And they have such an interesting culture. Her work is her lifestyle.. She works so hard in difficult and harsh conditions. She gets paid the equivalent of $200 USD a month. Can you believe that? Think about it.. Most Americans pay their doctor $200 each visit. And another $100 which goes to the medical institution/medical center. Each visit is about $300 dollars. A visit can some times only last 20-40 minutes. That's absolutely ridiculous!
absolutely unbelievable. What dedication. I do wish she had a second horse to travel with, so the load of carrying her can be shared. She is a force of nature and I wish her the best
I have worked in the medical field as a nurse for 50 years in the US. Although it was strenuous, stressful and often low staffed I respect Dr. Suuvda and others like her so much. Can developed countries aid you in any way? I think of using drones to help find your patients or other technologies. Traveling with an assistant and maybe more supplies might also be helpful. Can a foundation be set up to help you and others doing this work? Meanwhile, every doctor and nurse in developed countries should have to view this during their education. It has been an honor to learn of you and your work. May God bless you and keep you safe always.
Wow! M speechless looking at her bravery! To travel alone in the wild not only searching for her patients but also to contribute in preserving her old way of life of her culture by taking care of the people is commendable 🙏 May u be blessed more 💜
What an amazing woman and family. Her parents and daughter waiting for her and supporting her despite all the worry. How proud they must be that their daughter/mother cares for and heals these remote people who have nobody else. She is a rare and extraordinary individual.
Wonderful story about an amazing woman in such a unique and harsh environment. I can understand why she wouldn’t leave tho it’s so beautiful there. I hope she can continue her work and look after the tsaartan people. ❤
I think it has a slight exaggeration. However, Mongolia's population is small and sparsely populated in remote rural areas, so there are many human resource problems. In addition, vehicles cannot travel in the Mountain Taiga region, so it is necessary to go to the nomadic people on horseback or Reindeer. Under no circumstances are doctors sent alone. For areas where other vehicles are available, A team of 2 people, a driver, and a doctor, from Sum's Hospital go to the nomadic families by car to provide primary medical care. Depending on the severity of the patient's condition, arrangements are made for them to be taken to tertiary hospitals such as the hospital of Sum, the hospital of the province, and the hospitals of the city.
She's a doctor but more than a angel looks how dangerous she's in the winter wilderness the government supposed to provide her a car for safety and protection. This is her job but She's so brave and compassion it's so much work for her too leaves her daughter for her parents and take care another in the worst condition like this what's a great sacrifices respect and salute may God bless and protect her from every journey
Like Many , I need to wait to Months to see my doctor who is based approx 1 mile away . This amazing Doctor goes looking for her patients . What a great human being !
The Mongolia government could invest in five or ten Starlink satellite dishes and install them spread out in areas that the herds are likely to be at so that the herds can be easily located. AM radios are another method to locate these people rather than blind riding into the freezing cold forest. Having internet means that the children can be taught from a remote classroom. Also, the heart disease is more due to high consumption of meat and refined flour rather than the altitude. But it’s understandable because it is so cold and there’s not much else growing as far as vegetables.
in 2022 the mongolian provider GMobile deployed antennas on the mountains in Khuvsugul province and now all tsaatan rendeers have smartphones. Solar panels used for charging phones, laptops, watch TV
Interesting/informative/entertaining. Excellent photography job enabling viewers to better understand what the doctor was describing. Special thanks to the resident guest speakers. Sharing personal information pertaining to daily life experiences/activities. Making this documentary more authentic and possible.
This young woman is doing incredible work. I pray that every journey ends with her making it home to her family alive and well.
Amen
May you always be protected
The doctor is such an angel. This is not just a job but a calling.
Agreed. 🙏🏻
What an amazing doctor. US physicians should take note. This is how patients should be treated. Compassion and kindness.
Not just in the United States, but everywhere in the world.
Isn’t that the truth, where has the love and compassion for our fellow man gone?

So true and her respect for their culture and freedom to choose

Our western doctors are simply another outgrowth of our profit motive civilization.
Why would they let her alone? At least the goverebt should have provided an accompany or driver for her. This woman really does what they have taken oath as doctors which is to serve. Praying for your safety and good health to help more people in your area. You are amazing!!❤
Doctor Suvdaa is a Heroine, Role Model for all Doctors worldwide. May CNA win multiple awards with this Documentary too.
Ongelofelijk dat deze jonge arts onder deze winterse omstandigheden op pad gaat om patiënten te bezoeken in Mongolië, diep respect.
Heel diep. Het is bijna ongelooflijk. Wat een heldin.
Het lijkt op Turks.
The Mongolian govt should pay her 3 to 4 k dollars to do this job and she is taking care of her family also . What a brave woman she should be nominated for UN peace award n like her other health staffs also.

One of the best videos I have seen in a while. Respect to the Doctor
Agree. She does care and a beautiful soul. Her one month salary of $200 would just cover for a doctors consultation in US
In general that is sad but true in US but there are still doctors like her working among people with little access to care and some who travel a lot.

She's so cool! And tough. And brave!!!!
And so caring!!!
I am a baby boomer,I remember doctors making house calls in the 50's. I never saw one riding a horse or a reindeer however. ❤❤❤😂 Great documentary
What an amazing woman.
What a heroic and sublime female doctor. So humble.
I bow before you with respect.
This extraordinary human being chose to work with the nomads…she could have worked in a city or town and made much more money. its crazy that Mongolia is making more of an effort to help their citizens (completely free to the patient) than in america
I'm American. America doesn't care for it's citizens. It's obvious.
Expensive healthcare.

*wonderful doctor*
Esta doctora en verdad esta en su verdadera vocacion
